Throughout history God has delayed justice, both upon believers and unbelievers, to give them time to come to him, grow in Christlikeness, and trust him more deeply.

Don’t we give thanks for God’s patience with Saul, the self-righteous killer who became Paul? Or John Newton, the evil slave trader who accepted God’s amazing grace and preached and wrote the song that countless millions have sung? Are we grateful for God’s patience with us? Think of those who endured many years of suffering before the day you came to faith in Christ. Aren’t you thankful God did not deliver this planet from the Curse when millions asked for relief, before you heard the gospel? I came to Christ in 1969. What if Christ had returned and brought final judgment in 1968? Or in 1950, before I was born? If God had brought justice long ago, where would you and If be today? We would either not exist, or we would have been ushered into an eternity without Christ [emphasis added].

Obama administration advising black pastors on how to get out the vote — Don’t worry, the ACLU will put a stop to this transparent violation of the “separation of church and state.”  Wait, what’s that?!  The ACLU is part of the process?  Shocking.

It isn’t surprising that they are focusing on those supposedly racist voter ID laws that even flaming liberals in other countries realize are as practical as can be.  The real racism is assuming that if you aren’t white then you are too stupid to get a free government ID.

EvangellyfishIf you like satire, check out Evangellyfish by Douglas Wilson.  I thought the Amazon reviews were good reflections of the book.  It was a good send up of false churches and the hypocrisy we can all fall prey to, yet still had a message of biblically accurate hope underneath. And it was funny.

Half of all Americans live in households that get government handouts — And the worst part is that Democrats think this is a good thing.  I’m really glad I’m a Christian and that I have hope in eternity.  Otherwise I’d be really depressed about where this is all headed.

No, wait, it is worse: a college educated Liberal has no idea where food stamps really come from.  Junior Achievement classes should be required for all grades in this country.

No doubt the courts would inflict the same ruling if the owner were black and refused to photograph a KKK cross burning. Just kidding.

The ruling confirms five facts familiar to countermoonbats:

1. We have lost the fundamental right of freedom of association.
2. The businesses we run are not ours, but the government’s; therefore, the government determines how we operate them.
3. Our rulers hold Christian religious convictions in contempt.
4. All the animals on the farm are equal, but perverts are much more equal.
5. If we don’t start fighting back more effectively, our society is lost.

Leviticus 19 and illegal immigration

Theological Liberals are often guilty of practicing Leopard Theology, where they claim that the Bible is only inspired in spots and that they are inspired to spot the spots, or Advanced Dalmatian Theology, where God is also changing spots and adding or removing spots and, oddly enough, He is only telling theological liberals and progressives.

A prime example of that is in the case of illegal immigration (a phrase they can’t bring themselves to utter, always leaving off that pesky “illegal” part).  They are quick to quote Leviticus 19 to support their open borders / U.S. law-defying view:

Leviticus 19:33–34 (ESV) When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

False teachers such as Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis insist that we should apply that teaching to the U.S. But do they preach that we should follow the next chapter as well, not to mention the rest of Leviticus or the Old Testament?  Of course not.

Leviticus 20:10–13 (ESV) If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. If a man lies with his father’s wife, he has uncovered his father’s nakedness; both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death; they have committed perversion; their blood is upon them. If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

I could offer fifty more examples from the Old and the New Testaments. But they just pick and choose what verses they like and ignore the context.

They ignore true teachings, such as that Jesus is the only way to salvation (over 100 times), and they teach a perverted view of the Gospel, yet pull out Israelite-specific commands like the one above and try to force their (misunderstood) religious beliefs on others.  Where is the ACLU when you need them?

Was Leviticus 19 written to Christians in the U.S., let alone the secular U.S.? No. Should we treat people kindly no matter where they are from? Of course. But should we obey the laws? Yep. Should we protect the borders? Of course.

Side note: Regarding the argument about the Israelites being illegal aliens, that is simply false. They were originally given permission to be in Egypt.

If they wanted to consider something more universal in nature, they should read Leviticus 18 (read the beginning and ending of the chapter — God is punishing the Canaanites and warning Israel not to be like them). Then read Leviticus 19, which applies specifically to the Israelites.  (Also see flaws of the shellfish argument for reading Leviticus in context.)

Why doesn’t Jim reference Romans 13 and the command to obey the laws of the country?

You get the same type of selective Biblical references by false teachers such as Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie here.  Follow the comments section and watch how he continually labels as racist anyone who disagrees with him and how he dodges the question about whether it would be racist if Obama enforced the immigration laws of the country.  Theological Liberals really are pathetic in how they play the race card.

Should we love our neighbors? Of course. Let’s work on the root causes and help Mexico and others fix their countries. If you think the U.S. is bad, go live in Mexico. And as usual, let’s love our neighbors consistently with our own time and money. Wallis & Co. wants to love some of their neighbors with your money, and that isn’t biblical or logical.

And let’s read the Bible in context and not just pull out the things we like.

The Left’s shrill cries about potential violence and alleged racist comments (still no evidence, BTW) are really tiresome.  Both sides have freaks, but the media reporting is hopelessly one sided.  Bart Stupak had plenty of threats when he was pretending to be on the pro-life side, but those weren’t widely reported.  Read the link for many more examples.

So where’s the ACLU when you need them?

From Christians Urge Yes On 66 and 67:

As a voice for many in the faith community and as a provider of social services, we add our support to Measures 66 and 67. We all have a solemn responsibility to care for those who cannot do so for themselves, especially in challenging economic times like these. We believe it is fair and just to ask corporations and the most prosperous Oregonians to do their part in helping us through these tough times.

Sounds like coveting to me.  What if these initiatives don’t completely solve all the problems?  Well, these fine religious folks will just go back to corporations and the most prosperous citizens (typically defined as anyone who makes $1 more than these clergy) and take more of their money.  Because there are never unintended consequences like lost jobs, right? 

Note that I pay all my taxes and think all Christians should give generously.  And as always, people can argue these initiatives based on secular reasoning.  But when fakes like this bring Jesus into it I have a problem.

Hey, Chuck & Co.: You are more prosperous than 98% of the world.  Using your logic, they should keep taxing you until you have the same amount as them.  After all, until all these problems are solved you need to keep being taxed more and more.

Or perhaps you could set an example and give more yourselves and encourage your congregations to do likewise.

Those of us who operate faith-based charities and non-profit organizations know that we cannot meet the needs that exist in Oregon without a strong government role in providing health care, affordable housing, job training and other services that provide hope and opportunity.

How Biblical.  The church can’t carry out its mission so it turns to . . . the government!

So why is it that the separation of church and state crowd doesn’t sue over things like this?  Oh, yeah, because they want more government as well, and the churches most often involved in these ecumenical organizations typically gave up on Jesus a long time ago.  No threat to the Communists there.

Ballot Measures 66 and 67 help protect the most vulnerable Oregonians and secure adequate funding for public education, health care and public safety programs. The national economic crisis has had a profound impact on all of us. But it has hit society’s most vulnerable – the working poor, seniors and children – particularly hard. 

Perhaps you should be endorsing conservative economic principles instead of trillion dollar political payoffs and horrible health care bills that include taxpayer-funded abortions.

Join with Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon and faith leaders in voting Yes on Ballot Measures 66 and 67.

Christians working together make sense, but partnering with Muslims and other religions breaks the commandment not to be unequally yoked.  But since when did Chuck let God’s commands get in the way of his politics?

I have a post coming up soon which highlights how cheap most Liberal politicians are with their own charitable giving (Biden, Obama, Kennedy, etc.).  Yet they get into office and gladly spend other people’s money and consider themselves to be champions of the poor.  Sure. 

I’d love to know how much the leaders of these ministries personally donate. 

As always, it is only giving when it comes out of your pocket.

Here’s a follow up to my last post on Obama’s cynical religiosity regarding health care:

Blaspheme! OBAMA’s WELL-COORDINATED CAMPAIGN FOR OBAMACARE IN MAINSTREAM CHURCHES

Yeah, but notice how the ACLU / “separation!” types are up in arms over all of Obama’s God-talk.  And rightly so, because he’s trying to force his religious beliefs on us with his bronze-age mythology blah blah blah.

Oh, wait, they aren’t protesting at all, because:

 1. They must be virtually certain that he’s faking it.
 2. It is extremely rare for them to protest religious views they agree with.

Loads of hypocrisy.  In a way, it is good, because they convict themselves better than anyone else can.

The Obama Healthscare program violates all sorts of Christian commands:

1. Don’t covet.

2. Don’t steal — What else do you call taking other people’s money by force in the name of God to give to someone else?  Jesus didn’t say, “Take from neighbor A to give to neighbor B,” He said to give your own money.

3. Don’t murder — Obama & Co. are pro-abortion all the way and he is on record saying it should be a standard part of health care (for the mother, not the other human being in the equation) and that private health care offerings must participate as well.  He said it was at the center of his plan.

4. Don’t lie — They lie over and over in advancing their plan, such as hiding the single payer and abortion motives.

5. Don’t use the Lord’s name in vain — How dare they say Jesus would support their plan without backing it up from the Bible and taking the whole Bible seriously?

If they really want to pull God into the equation they should take his counsel all the time and not just cherry-pick and twist selected scriptures to their liking.  Ever notice their extreme confidence in the word of God when they find something they (think) they agree with and their extreme skepticism when they don’t like what they read?

The Christian Post reports that a panel of Episcopal theologians are working on preparing “a paper on same-sex relationships in the life of the church.” This group of “theologians” “very intentionally represents a robust range of views on the subject and includes gays and lesbian persons.”

Wow – I am so happy to hear that a panel studying “same-sex relationships in the life of the church” includes same-sex advocates. This should be a really unbiased examination of what God’s Word has to say, dontcha think? 

It is a joke that they are even asking the question.  As someone who has actually read the Bible, I’ll be glad to save them some time:

  • 100% of the verses addressing homosexual behavior denounce it as sin in the clearest and strongest possible terms.
  • 100% of the verses referencing God’s ideal for marriage involve one man and one woman.
  • 100% of the verses referencing parenting involve moms and dads with unique roles (or at least a set of male and female parents guiding the children).
  • 0% of 31,173 Bible verses refer to homosexual behavior in a positive or even benign way or even hint at the acceptability of homosexual unions or oxymoronic “same sex marriage.”

We are all sinners in need of a savior, even if you excluded our sexual sins.  But Christians should never encourage sin or say that sin isn’t sin.  That is profoundly un-loving and the opposite of what Jesus did.

President Obama has appointed Kevin Jennings, co-founder and executive director of the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN), to be Deputy Assistant Secretary of Education for the Department of Safe and Drug-Free Schools.  Read this link and see how the public face is all about alleged anti-bullying efforts but their real motives are still in the closet:

After the “town hall meeting” concluded and the media had left the building, the 210 attendees broke into private workshop groups, where GLSEN presenters expounded a markedly different vision for the future. Denouncing the quest for “tolerance” as a “condescending campaign for the second-class citizenry” —— as one speaker put it —— the presenters spoke frankly about their goal to have homosexuality open “affirmed” and celebrated” in American’s schools.

“We might start with people who…say, ‘Well, I can go as far as tolerance,’ and then we build from there,” Kalteissen said. “And our job, I believe, is to move them down the scale…Tolerance is not enough, let’s keep going.”

Hmmmm . . . is it possible that people who are aggressively trying to teach kindergartners how normal this behavior is could lie about their motives?

But always remember that there is definitely no homosexual agenda.

A new religion masquerading as Christianity — a former theological liberal explains how things changed once she quit putting her personal preferences over the commands of the Bible. 

Before I came to know Christ in a saving way I was a liberal “Christian.” (That was before the liberals coined the term “progressive Christian.”) As all liberals do, I molded Christianity into my worldview. Problem was I kept running into a road block — the Bible.

I hope that the theological liberals who visit this site will make the same course correction that she did — while there is still time!

Be sure to go see Expelled.  Lots of good clips here.  It looks to be informative and a little funny.  If nothing else, just go so you’ll know what all the materialists are hyperventilating about.  I can’t remember when I’ve seen such unhinged-ness and whining.  They commit the genetic fallacy over and over and over, saying it is “creationism disguised as science,” etc.  That doesn’t disprove anything. 

Here’s the producers’ response to the latest false accusations from opponents, where in a stunning bit of irony they tried legal means to suppress the movie’s release.  Let’s see, a movie is portraying you as being hostile to alternate viewpoints, so you defend yourself by filing bogus lawsuits and trolling blogs with your lies.  How do you parody people like that?  P.S. to trolls: Save your keystrokes.
