Free and valuable advice to any business: Stay out of the culture wars and don’t give into Leftist bullies

And yet another foolish business gets involved in the culture wars and supports Planned Parenthood. This time it was Chili’s — though I heard they stopped the promotion (after the damage was already done).  I left this note at their site:

Hi — I’ve always enjoyed Chili’s but now every time I see one I will think of how you support the largest child-killers in the country, and perhaps the world: Planned Parenthood. They kill children, sell their body parts, protect rapists & sex traffickers, lie about doing prenatal care, and so much more. You used bad judgment.

I realize you can’t boycott everything or you’d starve, but I do avoid business that are more in-your-face with their radical Leftism, such as Target (Motto: “We hate you Christians because you are intolerant bigots who know the difference between men and women, so please spend lots of money here!”).

Another company, which I won’t mention because I don’t want to give them free advertising, thought it would be smart to brag about their support for Planned Parenthood.  They sell cosmetics to women and assumed that the post-#womensmarch #abortionmarch timing would be great.  But it turns out that many loyal customers, including Mrs. Eternity Matters, said, “Buh-bye!”  Most of their Facebook comments were negative, and the business got caught having employees pretending to be customers and offering positive support.  They tried to backtrack and say that they’d planned to rotate the giving to other organizations in the future, but the original post made no mention of that.  And as they doubled-down with one defensive comment after another the opportunity for grace was gone.

The cost of losing customers for life is enormous.  My advice to any Board of Directors and senior management is to never give in to the LGBTQX, Planned Parenthood or other Leftist bullies.  Remember PP’s scorched earth campaign against Komen – a breast cancer charity! – when they tried to part ways. Do not pick up those snakes.  Just tell them you stay out of the culture wars and move on. They may threaten you, but don’t give in.  If your competitors give in and you don’t then you may reap the benefits!

Very important distinctions on abortion & the LGBTQX lobby

Leftist — including “Christian” Leftists — tend to conflate issues and use false dichotomies rather than defend their views.  They pretend that you are either fully on board with the pro-LGBTQX agenda or that you hate them all, or that you are either pro-taxpayer-funded, legalized abortion to the child’s first breath or you hate women.  But there are some clear, simple distinctions they choose to ignore.

The Christian worldview is simple, Biblical and loving.  For example, consider our responses to the following scenarios.

  1. If you are thinking of having an abortion: Don’t.  It is a grievous sin to kill another person, let alone your child.  Find a pregnancy resource center in your area.  They will give you all sorts of help — for free! You are probably in a very complicated situation psychologically speaking, but the moral view here is simple: It is wrong to kill your child.
  2. If you have had an abortion: Forgiveness is possible through Jesus, but you must come to God on his terms — that is, to repent and believe in Jesus. I encourage you to get some post-abortion trauma counseling.  Try a local pregnancy resource center — they usually offer it for free.
  3. If you justify abortions as moral and/or biblical: You couldn’t be more wrong.  Repent of that evil.  Please watch this to understand the basics of pro-life reasoning, the biblical basis for the sanctity of human life and how to respond to pro-abortion arguments, or go through this site.  Advocating for abortion rights is evil.

Now on to the LGBTQX topic.

  1. If you are tempted by Same-Sex Attraction (SSA): Regardless of the root cause (abuse and/or bad relationships and/or rebellion) you’ll want to avoid acting out on the temptation. Do not hang out in person or online with “Christian” Leftists or others who will “affirm” your temptation and encourage you to act on it.  The battle is hard enough without asking Satan for advice. Talk to your pastor to find people of your gender that would be willing to visit with you and encourage you.
  2. If you are acting out on SSA or other LGBTQX behaviors (or any sex outside of a one man, one woman marriage): Stop. It is sinful and spiritually, emotionally and physically destructive.
  3. If you are justifying same-sex acts as biblical: Stop and repent. That is God-mocking and evil.  Get educated on what God’s word really says and stop agreeing with the world to maintain your popularity with it. Share the truth with grace.

So don’t let others pressure you to the side of evil because they have improperly framed the discussion. Just take a couple moments to show them that they are missing some key but simple distinctions.

Planned Parenthood got busted, again, this time with audio and video showing that 92 out of 97 office contact do not offer prenatal care.  The timing is great considering how they just finished the #womensmarch #abortionmarch and were all saying how awesome and important Planned Parenthood is to women’s health.  Plus, the March for Life is in a few days so it will increase awareness of that.

Please watch and share this video.  So many people are deceived about what Planned Parenthood does.   My favorite part is at the 1:40 mark, where the on-hold recording specifically mentions prenatal care and then the employee says they don’t do prenatal care.  And you can see Cecile Richards lying and how so many clinics just kill children.

Planned Parenthood usually pretends to fire “rogue” employees when they get caught on things like this, so they will have a ton of openings across the country next week!

These people kill children for a living, so it is no surprise that they’d lie about doing prenatal care. Hopefully Trump will keep his promise and defund these ghouls.

How long until more “Christian” Leftists come out as bisexual?

And why aren’t churches doing a  better job of warning against these wolves and helping those authentically fighting temptations?

With any form of rebellion, users need increased doses to maintain the same high.  So how long until more “Christian” Leftists come out as bisexual?

As Romans 1 makes clear, when people are rebelling against God He may give them over to their desires and let them wallow in sin. Exhibit A: Homosexual behavior (and then other sins as well).  Note how at the end those who affirm the sins are guilty as well.

Romans 1:18–32 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

But as with drugs, sometimes the highs people get from shaking their fists at God aren’t enough, so they need to increase the dose. When false teachers like Rachel Held Evans, Jory Micah, The Christian Left, Jim Wallis, Chuck Currie, Mark Sandlin and more first started affirming LGBTQX sins, that may have seemed novel enough for them. But now that is just so 2012!  They are indistinguishable from the Leftist church and the world now. Who will give them attention just for that? That’s an entry ticket to their “faith” — that is, if you didn’t meet their baseline requirement of affirming LGBTQX sins (and abortion, of course) then you couldn’t come in the door.

So now what?  Really prove your commitment to the world by going bisexual! Note how they reacted to Glennon Doyle Melton, a “mommy blogger” with a huge “Christian” Left following.  She left her husband for some butch female soccer player, and of course it was accompanied by celebrations and the mandatory hostage video affirmations by her kids about how happy they are for her blah blah blah.  You’ll recall that Gene Robinson got himself a Bishop position in the Episcopal church by bravely abandoning and humiliating his wife and kids to “gay marry” his lover (and of course they are now gay divorced).

People like Mrs. Evans swoon not only over Melton (who claims to be Christian), but people like Elizabeth Gilbert (author of Eat, Pray, Love, Fornicate), who bragged about stealing men for sport.

If the man was already involved in a committed relationship, I knew that I didn’t need to be prettier or better than his existing girlfriend; I just needed to be different. (The novel doesn’t always win out over the familiar, mind you, but it often does.) The trick was to study the other woman and to become her opposite, thereby positioning myself to this man as a sparkling alternative to his regular life.

To the surprise of no one with critical thinking skills, Ms. Gilbert divorced her “soul mate” husband whom she left someone else for and is now in a lesbian relationship.  And the “Christian” Left still adores her.  Would her legions of fans worship her if she had stolen their mates?

So I think it is just a matter of time before more of these “Christian” Leftists go bisexual to prove just how committed they are to the cause. Patting LGBTQX folks on the head with God-mocking affirmations simply isn’t enough anymore.  They need to show some real commitment to the cause.

Or will their spouses leave first? Can you imagine being married to Mrs. Evans, Jen Hatmaker or Jory Micah?  Their #1 cause is radical feminism with a “Christian” Left veneer and their husbands are forced (or are they that pathetically willing?) to go along with it.  How will the women react if their husbands go bisexual?  Grit their teeth and affirm their worldview?  After all, you have to “be true to who God made you” and so on.

This isn’t some hypothetical issue, either. I was encouraging a guy online who has been battling intense same-sex attraction (SSA) for decades (classic case of verbal abuse from stepfather and sexual abuse from step-brother when he was very young).  He fought it for a long time and was staying with his wife and children.  I didn’t judge at all (he seemed to know it was un-biblical and was very wounded) but encouraged him for hanging in there this long and offered some suggestions about how to continue to wisely fight any temptations.  All kidding aside, I was a “safe space” where he could vent and share his inner turmoil.  But he hung around these “affirming” “Christian” Left groups online and has now come out loud and proud. Such a sad situation.  He is ultimately accountable for his actions but these wicked “Christian” Leftists did Satan’s work.  But it was also disappointing to hear that he couldn’t trust his local church and pastor to listen to his problems and support him in his struggles.

And real churches need to be more open in helping people who struggle with SSA. As long as they aren’t trying to say LGBTQX behavior is OK, we should come along side them and help them.  Just because it isn’t a temptation for most of us doesn’t mean we should grandstand on it. Sure, some do it out of pure rebellion, but most I know have a core of serious sexual abuse and/or relationship issues that exacerbate the desire.  I wouldn’t shut down anyone who battled lust, coveting, anger, pride, etc., so why would I do so with someone who has SSA?  Never affirm, of course, but also don’t exclude those who are authentically fighting temptations.

These wolves are as dangerous as they are pathetic.  Countless women follow them thinking they are authentic Christians with real biblical teachings.  Do the loving thing and warn others.  I truly hope that these people repent and believe someday, but in the mean time it is more important to expose them and protect others from their false teachings.

If you exclude pro-lifers your event is an #abortionmarch not a #womensmarch, and that’s exactly what the Molech-worshiping Left — including the “Christian” Left — just did.  Never forget that the #1 goal for them is the right to kill children up to their first breath with taxpayer-funds. Everything else takes a back seat to that, as evidenced by these marches.

First, check out the size of Hillary’s inauguration crowd!  It will warm your heart.

Some other thoughts on the #abortionmarch:

  • They really, really, love themselves some abortion. While pretending to march for women, they deliberately excluded over half of women — those who don’t share their pro-abortion extremism.
  • I’m not sure what dressing up as a vagina accomplishes. Seems to objectify women.
  • Same thing with the pu**y hats.  Do they realize that Trump’s infamous quote will have much less impact on future generations now that the Left — including the “Christian” Left — has de-stigmatized that word?  Once again, they can’t think 15 minutes into the future.
  • Not sure what threatening to blow up the White House accomplishes, other than that the senior citizen named Madonna should be arrested.
  • Not sure what creepy speeches about period blood accomplish.
  • Watching the “Christian” Left gush over the pro-abortion ghouls was not surprising. Can’t wait to see how excited they are when the real Christians do the pro-life march in Washington this week. You know, the one that is always much larger than the pro-abort marches but that the media ignores.
  • Noticed that these were Leftists protesting in Leftist cities that Clinton won.  Yes, we get it, you are sad about the election.  Just not sure what you think being a sore loser accomplishes.
  • Abortion kills blacks at over three times the rate of whites – and Hispanics at double the rate — but nearly all the marchers were white.  Seems racist.
  • Still waiting for pictures of the big crowds in Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries.  Aren’t their abuses of women slightly worse than having to pay more for pink razors?
  • Yes, there were some big crowds.   But what for? Matthew 7:13–14 Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
  • I’m pretty sure Trump is still President.
  • Trump’s team told some big lies yesterday. I never defend his bad deeds, and I have countless conservatives in my feeds that routinely criticize him.  But I’m waiting to find one Leftist criticizing Trump that also criticized Bill, Hillary and Barrack for their serial lies.
  • The “Christian” Left loved abortion, so they gave the Clintons a pass on all their crimes against women. Therefore, they have no moral authority to criticize Trumps’ sexism (don’t worry, conservatives will do it for you).  Remember that if not for the blue dress, they’d still be demonizing Monica Lewinski.

  • All the #abortionmarch business distracted us from some great news, such as defunding Planned Parenthood International (hopefully the domestic piece is next!) and especially General Mattis’ appointment.  That alone will reverse much of the perversion-fest of Obama’s reign.
  • If they impeach Trump we get Pence for 2+ terms.  I don’t think they realize how much worse that would be for them.
  • Never be surprised at the volume and persistence of pro-abortion and pro-LGBTQX people.  Remember that the whole towns of Sodom & Gomorrah were destroyed, except for Lot’s family, and that the men of Sodom groped for the door even after being literally blinded.  Christ-haters – especially the “Christian” Left kind — are very stubborn.
  • I believe this is @RachelHeldEvans, or a reasonable facsimile of her and the “Christian” Left.  Hopefully they’ll come to terms with the election soon.  When Obama won twice, one of the things we were able to model for our kids was how to react as Christians, i.e., “That was disappointing, but God is sovereign and we will continue to live our lives with hope and joy while fighting evil.”  If I had behaved like the whiny, sore loser “Christian” Leftists I’d be mortified now.

The Hebrew midwives feared God. The “Christian” Left does not.

When the Pharaoh commanded that the Hebrew midwives kill any sons born to Hebrew women, they refused, and God rewarded them for it.  But the “Christian” Left would have been fine with killing the Hebrew males up to their first breath, and they insist that God would have approved.   They have made their pro-abortion views crystal-clear again and again and there is zero hyperbole in what I write about them.  It shows just how wickedly anti-Christ they are.

Exodus 1:8–22 Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. And he said to his people, “Behold, the people of Israel are too many and too mighty for us. Make no mistake: “Christian” Leftists are “midwives” who would have gladly partnered with Pharaoh to kill the lineage of Jesus.

Is forgiveness possible?

The video below is fictional, of course, but the premise occurs countless times every day around the world: People need and want forgiveness, but the world tells them lies.

Christianity has the truth and the Good News, but far too many people claiming the name of Christ are unequipped and/or unwilling to share it, even when asked.  If that applies to you, then do something about it.  Right away!  I recommend Tactics by Greg Koukl as a great way to learn how to share your faith as an effective ambassador and apologist for Christ, just as the scriptures command.

2 Corinthians 5:20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

It was surprising but so encouraging to see that the clip below was on the TV show ER a couple years back.

The chaplain is the classic fake Christian you’d expect to find in most theologically liberal churches today.  I love how the patient doesn’t buy her “just make up a god in your own image” type of platitudes.

The money quotes from the dying patient:

All I’m hearing is some new age “God is love” one-size-fits-all crap . . . I don’t have time for this now . . . I want a real chaplain who believes in a real God and a real Hell . . . I don’t need to “ask myself,” I need answers, and all your questions and uncertainty are only making things worse . . .

I need someone who will look me in the eye and tell me how to find forgiveness, because I am running out of time!

Hey Christians, time to fire up!  Some people don’t want the truth.  But there are lots of real people like this in the world who need and want the truth.  They must be so sick of the lies and the politically correct “God is whoever you want him to be” nonsense taught by the world and by far too many churches.  Is it really so hard to understand that you do not get to tell the creator of the universe how eternity works?  You don’t set the terms and conditions of salvation any more than you get to tell your boss to triple your pay and give you 50 weeks of vacation, or tell your teacher that he must give you an A without you coming to class.

Are you ready to tell people the truth and the Good News?  Forgiveness, redemption and eternal life are possible, but only through trust in Jesus.

God, apparently.  But glad to see that some churches have caught on. The Hot ‘New’ Church Growth Method notes  that more conservative churches are growing faster than Leftist ones.

We must remember that religions can grow or shrink with bad doctrines or good.  If growth was the sole arbiter of soundness then Joel Osteen, Steven Furtick, Mormons, Muslims, etc. would be good people to go to.  But in our culture today, the “Christian” Left churches are doomed to shrink because they are indistinguishable from the world.  Why go to them for “doctrine” that is indistinguishable from the perversions, radical feminism and political correctness of college campuses, the mainstream media, and entertainment industries?  People can get God-mocking heresies for free 24×7.  Why waste time and money going to the “Christian” Left for more of the same?

Never forget that churchgoers who support “same-sex marriage”  — i.e., the “Christian” Left — have nearly identical views to the world on a host of issues such as abortion, adultery, porn, etc.  It shows who their real father is.
1 John 2:15-16 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.
Jude 4 For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

James 4:4 You adulterous people!  Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?  Therefore, whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

So there is good news here: Just preach from the Bible and you will probably grow.  And even if you don’t, you can be sure you’ve done the right thing.  Remember that preaching the Gospel honors Christ regardless of whether the hearers convert. It is always good to speak his truths.
Don’t worry about gimmicks to draw in the goats, especially when those tactics will starve or run off the sheep.  Don’t try to make the world love you.  It dishonors God and it won’t work.
Trust that the sovereign God will do just what He promised.  He is going to save those whose names He wrote in the Lamb’s Book of Life from before the world began.   The question is whether you and your church will be faithful to him in the mean time.

Revelation 20:15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

A simpler way to defend biblical inerrancy, infallibility and inspiration

Inerrancy and the Death by a Thousand Qualifications brought up some interesting points about how to defend the truth that the original writings of scripture were without error. If you offer too many qualifications then it seems to neuter your statement, but you do need to offer some sort of support.

I prefer to say that the original writings turned out exactly as God and the human writers desired, and that we can easily demonstrate that they have been faithfully transmitted to us in our language.

That appeals to the simple truth that the real God could — and would — easily ensure such a thing.

To the latter point I have found it persuasive to share a brief reference to the Dead Sea Scrolls and/or to the way even atheist Bart Ehrman will strenuously argue about what he thinks the originals really said on some finer point (meaning that even he thinks it can be known).  I have seen skeptics, Mormons, etc. immediately change their views on the transmission process (if not the inspiration) once they hear that.

Even though I believe that the original writings of the Bible were without error, God-breathed and incapable of error, those views aren’t required for belief in God or the resurrection.  You can take a minimal facts approach and see that even if there were slight discrepancies in the accounts about Jesus that the resurrection could still be true.

Just look at key facts that virtually all historians agree on, such as the following, and realize that his resurrection is the best explanation for those facts.

  • Jesus really lived and was killed on a Roman cross.
  • Jesus’ disciples believed He rose from the dead and appeared to them.
  • Paul believed that Jesus appeared to him.  Even skeptics concede that Paul wrote most of the books attributed to him, including Romans, Galatians, I & II Corinthians and others.
  • Jesus’ brother, James, was a skeptic who converted after Jesus died.

There are skeptics who endorse alternatives to the resurrection (e.g., Jesus’ body was stolen, it was ripped up by dogs, the swoon theory, etc.).  These folks unwittingly  give a lot of support for the resurrection: They show that the historical facts are so strong that one must concede that a real person named Jesus lived and died on a Roman cross and the body did not stay in the tomb.

bible5.gifClaims of Biblical inerrancy, inspiration and infallibility apply to the original writings.  I have researched countless difficulties and found answers that satisfied me.  Some are tougher than others.  Some things are in the Job category (as in, I’m not capable of understanding them or God doesn’t need me to understand them).

I learned enough about the book to be comfortable that God “wrote” it, and I trust that if there is something in the 1% that appears to be a contradiction then either there was a translation error or – much more likely – there is something I’m just not understanding properly.

In short, after working through enough difficulties with satisfactory answers I tend to give God and his Word the benefit of the doubt.  I’m sure this thrills him to no end.  I say that tongue-in-cheek, because on the one hand He certainly doesn’t need the Neil-seal-of-approval but on the other hand He does love it when we exercise faith.  Not blind faith, not faith despite the evidence, but faith grounded in the truths He has revealed to us.

Are there passages in the currently published Bibles that don’t belong?  Perhaps.  The ending of Mark and the story of Jesus and the woman accused of adultery are not in the earliest and best manuscripts.

Also, some verses sometimes lose a little meaning in certain translations.  For example, when Exodus 21:22-25 is properly understood it is a pro-life passage, yet pro-choice people will use a poorer translation (for that passage) such as the RSV because it supports their position.

These issues don’t bother me that much because they show that the system works: We have so many copies of ancient manuscripts and different translations that it possible to figure out what the originals said.  The exceptions are limited and we can show why they are exceptions.

But on most of what really matters there is no debate.  Every version I’ve seen says, “Love your enemies.”  There are 100 clear passages saying that Jesus is the only way.  That is plenty for me.

I know enough of the Bible and the difficulties to have great faith (trust in evidence) that God inspired the originals.  And I have faith in the copying and translation process so that I can read the Bible with confidence.  For difficult or controversial passages there are plenty of ways to resolve issues on the essentials.  But on the non-essentials I don’t lose sleep.

If people want to have church meetings to debate how often to serve communion, whether to use wine or grape juice, etc., I say go ahead and have a swell time.  Just don’t make me participate.

We can read the Bible with confidence that God has transmitted his Word to us accurately.  Sometimes the words inerrant, infallible and inspired are too loaded with various meanings to be helpful, so I like to emphasize that the original writings of the Bible turned out just the way God and the human writers wanted them to.

Leftists literally fail at basic economics*, and it has far-reaching negative consequences for society.  For today’s example, look at that Tweet by Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis’ Sojourners group.  They call making money from prisons, education and sick people an abomination.

I assume they are referring to for-profit prisons (which, of course, need proper oversight), those who make student loans and insurance companies.  Everyone needs a good scapegoat — it is right out of Leviticus 16! — and those evil people providing goods and services that no one is forced to buy (uh, except for the last one via Obamacare) sure make good enemies for the “Christian” Left.

But look at what they miss: Using their logic, prison guards, wardens, etc. are abominations for making their living off of prisons.

All teachers, principals, etc. are abominations for making their living off of students.

Doctors, nurses, hospitals, etc. are abominations for making their living from providing health care.

Their childish, naive, foolish argument proves far more than they wanted, and they probably don’t even realize it.

Gee, how many people will want to spend $500,000 for 8 hard years of school and then work long hours to give these Leftists free medical care?

And those precious teachers’ unions, which take turns with politicians in giving each other your money, may not be too excited about working for free.

And I’m sure you can run secure prisons by forcing people to build and operate them for free.

And isn’t abomination a rather strong word? Seems kinda judgmental of the tolerant, loving Left.

All that said, I’m glad that the author’s son had his opioid problem cured, though from the picture it looks like he was addicted to jelly beans.

Run, don’t walk, from the intellectually bankrupt economic lessons of the “Christian” Left.  They understand the free market as well as they do the Bible.

*My dog did better on an economics test than Leftists.  Seriously.  Sort of.
