Video: Letterman’s shocking interview with a tea-party leader — Very even handed by Dave and a stellar de-bunking of the “violent tea partier” meme.

Michelle Malkin explains how the left regularly fakes hate crimes — don’t be gullible when you hear about these.  Yes, there is hate — but it is on both sides, and you only hear about one side from the mainstream media and they “forget” to tell you about all the fakes.

And what about real hate speech that called for the murder of the President?  Oh, that was a different President so it doesn’t count.

And can you remember the Old Media ever publishing these sort of photos during Bush’s eight years in office? Nope, me neither.

And did anyone notice how the anti-war rallies have ceased — or at least ceased to be covered by the media?  But doesn’t President Obama preside over those wars?  It this like how the homeless problem was cured the instant Bill Clinton took office?

Star Parker is running for Congress in California — Yea!

In Uncle Sam’s Plantation: How Big Government Enslaves America’s Poor and What We Can Do About It, Parker traced the shift in America’s attitude from a belief in strong families and hard work to the flawed idea that the government’s role is to solve social problems.

A nice summary of Bible reading tips I came across on another blog.  Just add “always read in context” and you’re off to a good start.

1. The specific trumps the general,
2. The genre where a verse is found matters; example: Proverbs describes general trends, rather than iron-clad guarantees; Leviticus is a book of law of ancient Israel
3. Novel interpretations are frowned upon; it’s unlikely if not impossible that the church, to whom Jesus promised that the gates of hell won’t prevail over, would miss something completely after all these years.
4. The clear interprets the unclear.
5. Some parts of the bible may be unclear by design! I believe that God purposefully is vague with regard to what the afterlife will be like, in order to keep us from ignoring this life. And not all questions are answered by the bible.

Things you wish were April Fool’s jokes, but aren’t — a gruesome list, including the “rights” of transgender students to use opposite-sex bathrooms in schools

From the National Review — Getting serious about pornography — so sad that our culture not only ignores how destructive this is but acts like it is normal.  I can’t tell you how many fluff pieces the Houston Chronicle has had on porn, getting all nostalgic on anniversaries of Deep Throat and Playboy. Junk DNA – the real story — interesting read about how “junk DNA” isn’t junky at all and how evolutionists viewed it as proof of evolution both when it was considered junk and now that it isn’t.  Convenient, eh?

The ACLU’s concerns about privacy seem to vary with who is in the White House.

Wait, Obama used to claim that they weren’t aiming at universal health care.  He must have been misquoted here.  But you can totally trust him that his Executive Order about abortions will stand.

The Left’s shrill cries about potential violence and alleged racist comments (still no evidence, BTW) are really tiresome.  Both sides have freaks, but the media reporting is hopelessly one sided.  Bart Stupak had plenty of threats when he was pretending to be on the pro-life side, but those weren’t widely reported.  Read the link for many more examples.

Planned Parenthood hates black people

Is Christianity a crutch?  Is atheism a crutch?

Seattle Mom: School Sent My Daughter for Secret Abortion without Telling Me — The government thinks it has the right to kill your grandchild and have surgery performed on your daughter without your consent.  But you can’t send her to school with an Advil or she’ll get suspended.

And people want to give the government more control over their health?

The True Cost Of Government Involvement — If history is any indication, Obamacare won’t cost $1 trillion — which would have been insanely high to begin with — it will cost anywhere from $2 trillion to $17 trillion.

Read Ann Coulter’s follow up about her Canada speech that was canceled due to riots — riots fueled by people who hate her.  The irony is so spectacular, yet the Left doesn’t see it.

Obama’s Executive Order is Invalid — But everyone knew that, right?  At least Planned Parenthood knows it.  Faux-lifers like Sojourners pretend it means something, but they are bad actors.

Another faux-lifer / pro-abortion “social gospel” person — she claimed that “Nobody lobbies for powerless little children, other than the “social justice” people!” which is false enough by itself, but she doesn’t lobby for powerless little unborn children.  They consider this to be justice.

She also said, “The question the Social Justice Christians ask, IMO, is “what must I DO to be saved”?”  I pointed out that the question was asked and answered in the Bible in the story of the Philippian jailer:

Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (Acts 16:30–31, ESV)

That is the opposite answer of what she gave.  So there’s another “social justice” person teaching a false gospel.

Hillary Clinton is OK with abortions, just not gender-selection abortions — but if they don’t kill innocent human beings, why does the motive count?  (hat tip: Chance)

Great summary on the health care debacle by Marshall.

I should be overjoyed at ACORN calling it quits, but they are obviously just changing their names and reorganizing.  They won’t go far, and they’ll still get their funding.

Bart Stupak and the myth of the “pro-life Democrat” — I can’t tell you how many “pro-life Democrats” I know who voted for Obama, the most pro-abortion President ever.

False teacher considers taxpayer-funded abortions to being part of a “beloved community” — no surprise there.

Did everyone sign the health care bill? You know I did!

Seriously,  I will grant that Obama & Co. do a much better job of influencing people than the Republicans.  It is proven — though not that well known — that even getting people to do small gestures like signing a document or donating $5 dramatically increases their commitment to a candidate or program (even a horrible, horrible candidate/program like this one).

James White debates Adnan Rashid on trustworthiness of the Bible vs Koran — The Wintery Knight has an easy to read summary of key differences between the Koran and the Bible.  Read it and you’ll know more than most Christians and Muslims do about the transmission of both texts.

Bob Stupak was faking it all along —  See the post and the video in the 9th comment.  Only a sucker would believe an executive order by Obama.  The bill had taxpayer-funded abortion in it all the time, and the Democrats lied about it the whole time.  What a sad day.

This wasn’t just about health care.  It was about the start of many more destructive bills pushed through the same unethical way.  Can’t wait for November!

The Episcopal Church and Satan — yep.  I also heard a clip of their leader saying how non-Christians such as Jews and Muslims do not need the Gospel.  That only contradicts a few thousand Bible verses.

Poor in America — not what you think — I’m all for helping the poor.   The problem is that Liberal solutions usually create more truly poor people.  And many of those in power have a vested interest in inflating the number of poor.

If poverty means lacking nutritious food, adequate warm housing, and clothing for a family, relatively few of the 35 million people identified as being “in poverty” by the Census Bureau could be characterized as poor. Moreover, the United States can readily reduce its remaining poverty, especially among children. The main causes of child poverty are low levels of parental work and high numbers of single-parent families. By increasing work and marriage, our nation can virtually eliminate remaining child poverty.

Go read about how many of the “poor” in America have houses, cars, TVs, adequate nutrition, more living space than most Europeans, and more.  If you’ve been around the world on mission trips and such you know what real poverty is.

Hey guitar players — this $14 clip-on tuner is terrific.  It clips on your guitar (or other stringed instrument) and is very easy to read and use.

Girl Scouts Distribute Planned Parenthood Sex Guide at UN Meeting — PP is such a sick, creepy organization.  Your tax dollars at work, folks.  How did the Girl Scouts stoop so low to permit this sort of thing?

The World Association of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides hosted a no-adults-welcome panel at the United Nations this week where Planned Parenthood was allowed to distribute a brochure entitled “Healthy, Happy and Hot.” The event was part of the annual United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) which concludes this week.

Happy, Healthy and Hot The brochure, aimed at young people living with HIV, contains explicit and graphic details on sex, as well as the promotion of casual sex in many forms.  The brochure claims, “Many people think sex is just about vaginal or anal intercourse… But, there are lots of different ways to have sex and lots of different types of sex. There is no right or wrong way to have sex. Just have fun, explore and be yourself!” The brochure goes on to encourage young people to “Improve your sex life by getting to know your own body. Play with yourself! Masturbation is a great way to find out more about your body and what you find sexually stimulating. Mix things up by using different kinds of touch from very soft to hard. Talk about or act out your fantasies. Talk dirty to them.”

I do agree with Planned Parenthood that “An abortion kills the life of a baby after it has begun.” At least that was their view in a 1964 brochure, before they figured out how lucrative abortions would be.

It is amazing how these communicable disease rates would be extended-play front page news if they belonged to any other group.
The data, presented at CDC’s 2010 National STD Prevention Conference, finds that the rate of new HIV diagnoses among men who have sex with men (MSM) is more than 44 times that of other men and more than 40 times that of women.
The rate of primary and secondary syphilis among MSM is more than 46 times that of other men and more than 71 times that of women, the analysis says.

Political correctness is agreeing with things you know aren’t true because you want to be more accepted.  It is selfish and cowardly.  If the pro-gay theology crowd really cared about gays they’d teach what the word of God says and they’d work to reduce these disease rates.

The health care proposal is so bad that it even got the Hillbuzz gang back to church to pray.  They see that this isn’t just about a monstrosity of a health care bill.  They know it is the gateway to pass all sorts of other awful legislation that could destroy the country.

Speaking of Hitler, go read Hitler and abortion.  Great work by Polish pro-lifers.

Just finished another Kairos Prison Ministry weekend.  Exhausting but always joyful.  My role was pretty easy this time, just playing guitar and giving a 20 min. talk about the church and how they fit in it.  Blessings and answered prayers all around.

I thought these comments by other volunteers summarized things nicely:

[The prisoners] experienced Love, many for the first time in their life; they saw Hope, where none had existed before; and, they experienced Christ, who they may have known about but never experienced.

Final score:   God 42     Satan 0

The Scandal of Gendercide — War on Baby Girls by Al Mohler — He analyzes an article that appeared, surprisingly enough, in The Economist, which outlined the horrors of over 100 million “missing” girls due to abortion, infanticide or neglect.  Aside from the tragedy of killing females for the sole reason of their gender, the impact on society is enormous.  Please read it all.

Dems look to health vote without abortion foes — the title says it all.  As I’ve been pointing out, they could have had the health care bill completed long ago, but that wasn’t good enough.  They are willing to risk it all to ensure that they get taxpayer-funded abortions.

The Reagan / Obama debate — nicely done.

Thought for the day: Shakespeare’s plays are like the musical Cats — deep down everyone thinks they are awful, but some famous critic published a sarcastic review saying how great they were and people took it seriously. Then everyone went along because they didn’t want to look stupid. Let’s just do a quick round of polygraphs and we can end this charade.

Did you get your letter from the Census Bureau telling you that they’ll be sending you a letter next week? Was that a good use of millions of dollars? They insist that it cuts down on personal visits and therefore pays back.   I’m going to do a blog post telling you that I’ll be doing a blog post next week.

Outstanding health care roundup by Haemet. Loved this quote from the WSJ:

The president has one set of Congressional Budget Office cost projections, based on terribly misleading assumptions developed by Congress and the White House, that show it’s possible to provide health-care coverage to 30 million more people, while reducing overall costs and the federal deficit. If that projection makes any sense at all, then it’s too bad we don’t have 60 million uninsured so that we could save twice as much money.

Yes, we do need tort reform — Dad disables daughter via his negligence and disobedience, but the jury isn’t told all the facts so they award him $24.3 million.

Answering the “Sarah Palin is a quitter” charge — Good dialogue suggestions to respond to a common MSM / Liberal meme. If they think Sarah is so bad and so easy to beat, why are they so obsessed with taking her down? Why not wait until after she wins the nomination? Hint: Because she’ll run rings around Obama now that she isn’t hamstrung by the McCain campaign team. Hat tip: Hillbuzz

Are Beth Moore’s claims of private revelation valid? — I know lots of folks who like her, but I find it creepy when people continually claim a direct hotline to God — i.e., “God told me ______” — unless they follow it with a Bible verse, in context.   That is a huge claim and the burden of proof is on whomever makes it.  Hat tip: TheoGeek

“Outraged atheists lose faith in Dawkins as he censors website”

This may be occasion for presenting Richard Dawkins with the Can Dish it Out But Cannot Take it award . . . Richard Dawkins has literally built the New Atheist movement upon vociferously pouring down abusive language based derision upon anyone who dares to disagree with him and now…the monster which he created, nurtured and let lose upon the word has come home to roost. Actually, it has come home to burn down the laboratory of its creator.

Dawkins promulgates the mere that I, a Jew, am to be likened to a Holocaust denier because I doubt that human beings are related to “bananas and turnips” and he takes offence at an admittedly uncalled for description of his visage. Please get over yourself professor.

UK Govt’ to Impose “Hate Registers” for British Children who Make Gay Comments — coming soon to a country near you.  As we’ve said for years, this is the logical conclusion of superfluous “hate speech” and civil rights for sexual preferences legislation.  As always, I’m anti-bullying, but we don’t need special clubs and “hate speech” laws for 10 year olds to prevent bullying.

The Mail notes the case of one boy who has already been placed on such a registry for calling another pupil a “gay boy.” The mother of ten year-old Peter Drury, of Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, was told that her son’s name would be placed on a register and permanent school record following a complaint about the comment by another student.

Pathetic race-baiting by the Huffington Post — a  friend posted that link on his Facebook account.  My responses:

Fact: The candidates you support oppose school choice, because they like union donations more than black children. That’s racism.

Fact: The candidates you support keep abortion legal and it kills blacks at a rate three times that of whites. See where Planned Parenthood puts their clinics. Investigate Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood. She was a eugenicist that paid off black preachers to encourage them to have their members sterilized, among other things. She wanted to eliminate the undesirables. Abortions kill more blacks in a day over and above whites than the KKK ever dreamed of. That’s racism.

Fact: The candidates you support profit by keeping blacks poor and uneducated. That’s racism.

Fact: People like you use blacks as some sort of trump card so you can scream RAAAAACISM whenever you are losing the debates (which, apparently, is always). That’s racism.

Hey, have you visited Detroit lately? It is a petri dish of Liberal politics and education policies. Like other big cities, Democrats have had virtual monopolies for 50 years. How’s that working out for the black folks there?

Homework assignment: Watch MSNBC tonight — you know, the ones who scream RAAAAACIST all the time. Tell me how many black news people you see. I’ll wait here.

Compare Bush, who put many blacks in high level positions based on their merits, then compare that to Democrats.

Look at liberal companies like HP, who load up the “Diversity” groups with black executives but barely have any elsewhere.

. . .

Protesting wasteful gov’t spending and socialism is not racist. Playing the race card because your arguments suck is racist.
