Bill Gates Defends Communist Chinese Government; Says It ‘Did A Lot Of Things Right’ While US Acted ‘Poorly’ — Sickening.  Yeah, China just never stops lying, disappears whistleblowers, profiteered from the pandemic, etc., and Bill definitely isn’t just trying to prop up the WHO to save his reputation . . .

The video normal people have been waiting for: Thanks, celebrities — I hope that one of the good byproducts of the pandemic is that people scale back the worship of celebrities and athletes.

A lot of celebrities seem to imagine (see what I did there) that we want them to shoehorn themselves into this crisis to offer advice or entertainment. But when people are dealing with the loss of jobs, a death in the family, etc. it comes off looking really out of touch. There’s a combination of navel gazing and not-so-subtle humble-bragging about their fabulous wealth and fabulous friends in many of these clips which ought to embarrass them. But somehow it doesn’t.

Overall, you get the sense that for a lot of these people the most important thing is that we not forget about them. No, it’s worse than that. They not only want to be remembered, they want to be important and applauded no matter what else is going on in the world. It’s pretty repulsive.

Good for him, using actual facts and logic.  Paying people who haven’t lost jobs was stupid (as was making it more profitable to be unemployed than to be employed).  The virus is less lethal than thought.  There is no reason to shut down the country and hand out our grandchildren’s money.

Too Many Women Today Want a Marriage Where The Man Makes Commitments While They Promise Nothing — Yep. Things have changed.  I can see why men are much more skeptical about marriage.

But women today reject the idea that they should be bound by any of the traditional promises for women. She expects him to do half the housework. The idea that she should give him sex if she doesn’t feel like it is considered equivalent to rape. She can’t be expected to support his career: she has her own. And of course, if she decides that the relationship no longer meets her needs, she can leave at any time for any reason or no reason. And he is then obligated to pay alimony and child support.

Marriage today is still a huge commitment for a man. Almost as much as it ever was. But it is pretty much zero commitment for a woman. She promises nothing.

CNN finally covers Larry King clip in which Biden accuser’s mother purportedly alludes to daughter’s sexual assault — There are countless reasons that CNN is nothing but shameless Leftist hackery, but this is a hall-of-fame reason: 700 stories about Kavanaugh within the first few weeks of the story breaking and 1 on Reade.  And even many Leftists concede that Reade’s case is far superior to Ford’s.

Lesson learned: Trump said that women would let you touch them if you are rich and famous.  Clinton and Biden showed that if you are a Democrat you can touch them against their will.

More here: CNN slammed for treatment of Biden sexual assault allegations after old Larry King clip surfaces — Such hypocrisy and duplicitous behavior from the Democrat-owned media.

The resurfaced CNN clip from 1993 appeared to show Reade’s mother alluding to “problems” her daughter faced while working as a staffer for the then-Delaware senator. Reade later told Fox News it was indeed the voice of her mother on the clip. Biden’s presidential campaign has adamantly denied Reade’s allegations but the video could be cited as evidence supporting Reade’s allegation – even though her late mother, in the clip, does not specifically refer to a sexual assault claim.

CNN did not immediately respond to a series of questions, including whether the network knew the footage existed.

“Larry King may have had the biggest scoop of his CNN career this evening … And it’s an open question whether his former employer will say a word about it,” New York Post reporter Jon Levine tweeted.

And from another article on the topic, fancy this:

The National Organization for Women (NOW) also did not respond to comments from Fox News. The offices of Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., and Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., former 2020 hopefuls who have been floated as possible VP picks for Biden, did not respond to requests for comment about the latest development.

Other names floated as possible running mates also did not immediately respond to requests for comment, including: Rep. Val Demings, D-Fla., former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H.; Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H.; New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham; Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev.; Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill.; Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz.; Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y.; Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.

Normally it isn’t safe getting between those ghouls and a microphone, but now they are silent?  What hypocrites!

And then there are the shrill, hypocritical harpies from The View‘The View’ ignores Tara Reade’s Biden allegations after championing Kavanaugh accusers.  They went off 24×7 in the most ridiculous ways on the spurious Kavanaugh claims, but are silent on Reade.  Same for Pelosi, Shumer, et al.  Go figure.

And note that Biden’s denial immediately segues to the pro-woman legislation he has advanced and pretends he doesn’t have a well-documented track record of inappropriate touching.  They know they can’t say, “He’s never done anything like that before!”, so they switch the category.

Whitmer: I don’t know how we awarded that contract to my campaign vendor who just went dark — Sure, sweetheart.

On Tuesday the Whitmer administration terminated a door-to-door pandemic tracing contract awarded to Great Lakes Community Engagement, an organization led by Kolehouse, just one day after its announcement. Within 24 hours of the cancellation, Kolehouse, who was set to take in nearly $200,000 in the deal, took down the website for his consulting firm, K2K strategies, as well as his Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts. He did not return multiple requests for comment from the Washington Free Beacon and declined to answer questions about the contract, which would have tasked him with collecting sensitive health data, from the Washington Post and Crain’s Detroit.

Sexual Abuse in Schools — This site tracks countless examples.  One more reason to home school.  I think this will just get worse and worse in our porn-driven culture.

My favorite Bible reading / prayer / memorization routine

There is nothing like reading a chapter of the Bible in the morning and a chapter at night, along with some study notes.  I did that the first time I read through the Bible back in 1996 and it was life-changing.  Hey, God’s word does what it promises.  Who knew?

While I’ve never stopped reading completely, I’ve had different patterns over the years, usually just once a day.  But late last year I started back with the twice a day routine and I don’t think I’ll ever stop.  It is just the perfect set of bookends for the day.

I don’t try to get through the entire Bible in a year.  Nothing wrong with that, of course.  I’ve done it before, and even listened to it over just a few months when I’d play it in the car regularly.  The pace I’m on now is a “read the Bible in 20 months” plan.

I’ve always loved the chronological approach, but I do like a mix of Old and New Testament as well.  But I think my favorite will be this plan I came across in Logos, where you cycle through 7 different books.  Currently I’m going through a few chapters each of Genesis, Ruth, Psalms, Job, Isaiah, Matthew and 1 Corinthians.  It is a great mix, where every day or two I’m reading from a different book.

For prayer, I made a personal translation of the Valley of Vision Puritan prayers, where I converted them from old English poetry form to contemporary prose.  I read one a day. (I wish I could get it published, as it is so much more accessible than the original, but the copyright owners didn’t even respond to my request.)

I also just started using the PrayerMate prayer app, which is an easy way to keep track of various prayer categories.

Finally, I love the Bible Memory app.  I cycle through a batch of verses at least once a day, sometimes more often.  When I come across a new verse or passage I add it to the list.  Whenever I am bored or distracted I am inclined to reach for my phone to do something.  But having taken off social media apps, I now go to the Bible Memory app and do a few verses instead.  Aside from being a great part of your devotional time, it is helpful if you are out waiting for something like an oil change or whatever.  It really redeems the time.

And while I am not good at memorizing, this app has helped me memorize so many more verses, passages and even whole chapters than I ever thought possible.  My challenge is not to just go through them and not think about them.  For example, I’ve gone through Jude so many times that I can recite it without thinking about it, so I need to challenge myself to slow down and meditate on what it says.

So that’s it.  Morning: Prayer, then reading a chapter of the Bible and the accompanying study notes, then some memory verses.  Evening: Another chapter.  And perhaps more memory verses at breaks during the day.

I love this routine and its results.  Your mileage may vary.

Some people are busier than ever during this pandemic, but others have lots of time on their hands.  For the latter, this is a great time to establish good habits in this area.  If you can’t do it now, when will you?

And remember that even if you are very busy, you can listen to the word of God on audio – for free!  Redeem your commute!  Each chapter is only about 4 minutes, so you’ll be surprised at how much ground you can cover.  Of course you can’t look at study notes and such, but the word of God is what really matters.  And if you get distracted there is always the rewind button.

And if you still say you don’t have time, ask yourself how much entertainment you consume each day, and why God designed the world in such a way that you never have time for his daily bread.

Be blessed!

So you shall purge the evil from your midst.

AOC suggests low-income Americans should boycott work after coronavirus shutdown ends — Only in a ridiculously entitled welfare state can people even consider such stupid ideas.  The ignorance of the conditions in the world and throughout history is appalling yet unsurprising.  This is just one more consequence of these bailouts where people are mad at employers who aren’t laying them off because unemployment benefits pay more.  And think of all those who won’t bother to work if it just means a few incremental dollars per hour.

New York Gov. John Ekdahl has been on a helluva tear on Twitter. He wonders why it is that the New York-based media is scolding Floridians for visiting the beaches in small numbers, but yet all of New York City’s parks remain open. He wonders why people are being told they can’t drive but New York City’s subway system remains open, each car a contained petri dish. (And note — they only gave out the order to wear a mask on the subway a few days ago!)And I’ll point this one out: The same people saying that protests are non-essential are the same people who said it would violate the Constitution to quarantine people from the New York City area to the New York City area. Andrew Cuomo, hero of the fascist lockdown lobby, threatened to provoke a Constitutional crisis if Trump sought to limit New Yorkers’ holy right to export the plague to other states. Why is it the Ruling Class is busy demanding lockdowns for others while accepting no restrictions at all for themselves?

Democrats are ‘grappling’ with Tara Reade’s allegations against Joe Biden (many in silence) — It doesn’t sound like grappling to me.  Sounds like they have decided to ignore the obvious because of politics.  If they really thought she wasn’t credible they would just say so.  By their silence they are admitting that they think he’s guilty.  I think they’ll ultimately have to replace Biden, but this incident shows how the media and the DNC are complete frauds.

This is how messed up these people are.  She’s an “advocate” ignoring that the new President would be a predator so she can help the predator fight sexual violence.

“For me, this is extremely painful,” said an advocate who had worked with Biden’s office on sexual violence issues during the Obama administration. She asked to remain anonymous because she worries that expressing support for further investigation into Reade’s claims could jeopardize her chance of working with the White House if Biden wins. “I really saw Biden as a champion for a really long time,” she said. “I’m experiencing cognitive dissonance right now. I haven’t had the ability or the time to process emotionally what it means for me to believe that he did this.”…

I find Reade infinitely more believable than Kavanaugh’s accuser.  But the media and Democrats just put reporting on hold for a couple weeks while they could figure out how to bury this.

Gretchen Whitmer Calls Abortion “Life-Sustaining” — Lucky for her that her mom didn’t hold that view.  That’s typical Molech-worshiping ghoul-speak. If they aren’t killing children they aren’t happy. “We need PPE to fight the virus!! Oh, and to kill children!! Everyone else can just suck it up.”  I know a 77 yr. old who needs his colon re-attached after cancer surgery, but he has to wait so Whitmer can make sure more children are destroyed.

Disney’s DuckTales Promotes Gay Agenda — Predictable, but sickening.

Free trade only works where there is trust

All other things being equal, free trade is ultimately phenomenal for countries and individuals.  Using money as a medium of exchange, I trade my finance/accounting/leadership skills and experience with people who are good at making groceries, building cars, giving dance lessons, etc.  Win-win.

But the key part is about things being equal.  When one party – let’s say, China – has the system rigged in their favor by world trade organizations, is manifestly corrupt and evil, steals from you, spies on you, lies to you about pandemics, abuses their citizens, has no free speech, etc., then things are obviously not equal.  It would be foolish to continue to buy, say, 95% of your antibiotics from them.  Keep in mind that they are so evil that NBA players, coaches and leaders will criticize Trump 24×7 but punish anyone daring to offer the mildest criticism to China.

So this was good to read: Coronavirus pressures US manufacturers to bring plants home from China:

The COVID-19 pandemic has America rethinking its reliance on China for not only key medical supplies but production capacity in general after Beijing clamped down on exports of critical items used to combat the disease. . . .

“One of the things that has happened with this pandemic is it’s revealed to everybody the limits to our digital superiority and our software and all the things that we’ve innovated in technology,” Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., told FOX Business’ Maria Bartiromo. “You still have to be able to make things. You still have to have industry and industrial capacity as a country. And we’ve given a lot of it away.”

Indeed, only about 11 percent of U.S. gross domestic product comes from manufacturing today, down from almost 40 percent in 1945. . . .

Although cheaper Chinese labor remains a factor in companies’ decisions to make their products in that country, it’s not the advantage it once was, Freeman said. Instead, China lures companies with tax breaks and other incentives, as well as the appeal of its domestic market.

That’s one of the many reasons that Trump’s tax cuts were so important.  When countries have lower taxes that often swings  financial decisions.  Back in the 90’s Compaq sent tons of business to Singapore because their tax rate was zero while the U.S. rate was 35%.  That meant that even if you got free labor, buildings, machines, etc. it would still be more profitable to build in Singapore than the U.S.  Our corporate tax rate doesn’t need to be zero, but keeping it lower will remain important if we want jobs back.

President Trump has repeatedly called on U.S. companies to bring their operations back home, moves that would likely provide a spark to a labor force that has over the past four weeks seen 22 million workers lose their jobs, at least temporarily.

That’s one more reason the Left will fight the obvious.  Although temporarily the Democrats realized they need to have their Joe Biden Talking Doll (TM) pretend to be harder on China than Trump has been.  Of all their lies, that is a grand one.  Anyone paying attention knows how hard he has been on them long before Covid-19 and how Biden has been in bed them for a long time.

He believes the COVID-19 experience will cause many companies to “rethink the safety and security of reliance on global markets,” and that there will inevitably be some movement of capital-intensive — not labor intensive — production back to the U.S. . . .

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce “supports a robust commercial relationship with China,” he added, but also understands the “need for some rethinking of that relationship.

I quit trusting the Chamber of Commerce years ago.  Those “Republicans” are the ones who brought us ridiculous levels of illegal immigration.  The Dems get the votes and these country club Republicans got cheap labor.

Rubio agrees. He told Bartiromo that the current level of U.S. dependence on China’s industrial capacity has put our country “in a very dangerous situation.”

“I hope that one of the things that will come about now is a broad consensus in this country that we have to be able to make things in the United States,” he said.

The same goes for oil and gas.  Fracking and such has been one of the greatest wins in our history, as it has provided jobs and reduced dependence on foreign oil.  Guess which side fights that 24×7?

I’d gladly pay more for clothes and such knowing that it created jobs in the U.S.  I hope we do bring a lot back from China.

Wuhan Coronavirus Fat Shames — I’ve seen more news on the virus than I’ve wanted to, yet haven’t seen mentions about the high lifestyle-related comorbidities.

Virus-Panicked Liberal Gun Buyers Are Getting Angry When They Discover Their Own Gun Control Laws — Great story, and not just for the irony. This could be one of those profound long-term impacts that will come from this pandemic: A fairly significant amount of people rethinking their views on guns – and perhaps more!  Hopefully lots of people are re-thinking their stereotypes about guns, gun owners and gun laws.  This should be a great campaign issue for Republicans.

More than a dozen of these buyers (men and women) actually thought that since they filled out and signed everything, they could just walk out and go home with the firearm. Several actually said they saw how easy it was to buy a gun on TV and why did they have to fill out all these forms. The majority of these first timers lost their minds when we went through the Ammo Law requirements. Most used language not normally heard, even in a gun range. We pointed out that since no one working here voted for these laws, then maybe they might know someone who did. And, maybe they should go back and talk to those people and tell them to re-think their position on firearms – we were trying to be nice.

We tried to look at just who the new firearm purchasers were and we believe that more than 60% of these individuals were first time buyers. I can’t describe the amount of fear in my staff as we had the buyers show proof of safe handling as part of the purchase process as required by law. You have never seen so many barrels pointed at sales staff and other customers. It was truly frightening. We had to keep stopping the process to give quick safety lessons. We are adding many more basic classes in the coming weeks and encouraged these buyers to please attend. We hope they do.

The Atlantic analyst to media, critics: Coronavirus pandemic has proven Trump right about China and multilateral orgs  — I’m not naive enough to think that the deranged Left will let up on their Trump-hatred, even if it meant the country being destroyed.  But is it possible that more middle ground people are seeing that Trump was right about China all along?  And we haven’t even gotten to the border protection discussion.  What fool would oppose border controls now?!

Don’t forget that China was proclaiming that they had the outbreak under control at the same time it was hoarding PPE, and offered false data that no doubt kept prices for these goods relatively low for a few weeks

Globa Health Security Index — Imagine that, in late 2019 the U.S. was ranked as the top country in the world with respect to dealing with a pandemic.  Has the media mentioned this?  Have the Democrats acknowledged it?  Trump doesn’t get all the credit, as much of this was obviously in place before his tenure.  But it does show how ridiculous it is to blame him for the U.S. not being prepared for this.  And note that it wasn’t some conservative think-tank that come up with this:

To create the GHS Index, NTI, JHU, and the EIU project team—with generous grants from the Open Philanthropy Project, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Robertson Foundation—worked with an international advisory panel of 21 experts from 13 countries to create a detailed and comprehensive framework of 140 questions, organized across 6 categories, 34 indicators, and 85 subindicators to assess a country’s capability to prevent and mitigate epidemics and pandemics.

Enjoy this 1.5 minute segment.  It is one of the many reasons I like Trump and loathe the media and the Democratic party.  They like this pandemic and they choreographed Biden’s fact-free Tweet and the reporter’s question because they savor the opportunity to harm Trump.  But he calls it what it is, uses it to point out what everyone really knows (that Biden is lost and confused and just lamely trying to read what the Dems script for him) and reminds them that even Biden had to admit that Trump was right about canceling flights from China.

But Biden has been credibly accused of literally grabbing Reade’s pu$$y against her will and the Left is silent.

Bonus “pass the popcorn” link – Tweet from Rose McGowan (oddball Leftist, to be sure, but at least she has standing as a real victim) against Alyssa Milano’s hypocrisy about Biden:

You are a fraud. This is about holding the media accountable. You go after Trump & Kavanaugh saying Believe Victims, you are a lie. You have always been a lie. The corrupt DNC is in on the smear job of Tara Reade, so are you. SHAME

Coronavirus pushes NBA to propose 50% player pay cuts — China has cost the major sports teams and players billions.  I guarantee that the value of franchises will go down permanently.  Who would take the risk for something like this happening again?

Remember when Daryl Morey of the Houston Rockets made some benign comments supporting Hong Kong and the NBA and its players eviscerated him because they didn’t want to lose any China money?  Yeah, good times.  Now that China has cost the owners and players billions I wonder if they’ll reconsider whether they should have bowed down to an evil Communist government that literally kills dissenters, lies about deadly diseases and deflects blame 24×7.

We’re gonna need a lot of millstones to clean this up . . .

This Mom Went Undercover on Instagram as an 11-Year-Old Girl to Show How Online Sex Abuse Happens — I can’t believe how little most parents monitor their kids’ online access.

Great points here.  The media “forgets” that the official crimes they were sentenced for were often plea-bargained down from something more serious and often violent.   I’ve done prison ministry for 13 years and have met countless felons. I’m still waiting to meet one who didn’t belong there.  The common denominator is almost always a broken home — brought to you by the Left’s policies.

And yes, the rich Leftists won’t be impacted by letting these felons out on the streets, but those they claim to care about will be hurt.

So many conservative principles being proved true!

As if you didn’t have enough evidence already, Conservatism is vastly superior to Leftism.  This pandemic made that painfully clear.

  1. We need to have guns.  The police in some cities quit responding to certain crimes and were setting prisoners free.  And if there would have been food shortages then things would have gotten even uglier.  One of the great bits of news I’ve seen is how some Leftists are getting mugged by reality when trying to buy a gun for themselves: Virus-Panicked Liberal Gun Buyers Are Getting Angry When They Discover Their Own Gun Control Laws.  Hopefully lots of people are re-thinking their stereotypes about guns, gun owners and gun laws – among other Leftist thoughts!  This should be a great campaign issue for Republicans.
  2. Borders count!  You already had to be malicious or ignorant to be for open borders, but now even Leftists have a tough time pushing for those with a straight face.
  3. Maybe people should spend less and tats, partying, clothes, iPhones, etc. and save some money for emergencies!
  4. A totalitarian Communist government caused the most expensive and deadly crisis in history and exacerbated it with their predictable lies and destruction of dissenters.  Capitalistic countries helped solve it.
  5. On balance, conservatives have been much more respectful towards professions like truckers and grocers.  Now the Left realizes you need them more than you do celebrities and sports stars (not that they should be paid the same . . . supply and demand still rules).  I hope that change lasts.
  6. Public schools are outdated and full of time-wasting activities and Leftist propaganda.  I was surprised at some of the people noting how little of their children’s days are spent actually learning in school.
  7. Now that we have real problems, micro-aggressions are being exposed for the nonsense that they are.  Hey, they even told us in the name that they are micro.  So why did anyone ever take them seriously?
  8. The free market solved the toilet paper situation quickly.  We should share that example often and remind people of how it works in Venezuela.
  9. Globalism is not a winning strategy.
  10. You need limited government.  It didn’t take long for governments to trample basic rights, fining people for things like parking their car by the beach while ignoring unsafe encounters at farmer’s markets and such.

To be continued . . .

And enjoy this list:

By the time the pandemic is over, everyone will be convinced that…

  1. Open borders are a menace.

  2. Globalization is a menace.

  3. Public transportation is a menace, while private cars keep families safe.

  4. Public schools are a menace.

  5. Homeschooling is great.

  6. Gun owners have fewer anxieties to deal with during a crisis.

  7. Hollywood is a bunch of nincompoops.

  8. The mainstream media is a useless menace.

  9. Communists can’t be trusted and are a menace.

  10. Capitalist enterprise reacts to emergencies faster and more efficiently, while the obstructionist bureaucracy is a menace.

  11. All essentials must be manufactured within our own borders.

  12. A businessman makes a better president than a career politician.
