The spectacular racism of the Left’s immigration policies

White collar — and largely white-skinned — jobs have lots of protections.  It is very challenging to get green cards for foreigners, so people in these jobs have far greater protection than those in lower level jobs.

But the massive waves of illegal immigrants being encouraged to come and stay by the Left take countless jobs of lower-income blacks and suppress the wages of the jobs that remain.  Remember, black unemployment has gotten worse under Obama & Co.

I pray that one day blacks will realize that the “Christian” Left does not have their best interests at heart.  Fakes like Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis just want illegal immigration because it is a way for them to buy votes.

The deadly law of unintended consequences, illegal immigration style

The law of unintended consequences often turns deadly, as it has with illegal immigration.  Via If I Were Marco Rubio:

Senator Marco Rubio spent the better part of last year joining together with Democrats to make a bipartisan push for amnesty and comprehensive open borders.  The message to the third world was clear and unambiguous.  We have not learned the mistakes of the past and we will continue granting amnesty because we lack the stomach to leave any illegals behind. Not surprisingly, starting late last year there was a surge in border crossings.  Now, there are rampant rumors throughout Central America that as long as you come here with children, you will never be turned down.  How uncanny that the rumor tracks almost identically with the statements put out by politicians in both parties propagating a desire to care for the world’s poor and place their needs over those of Americans. If I were Marco Rubio, I would hang my head down in shame for helping engender this new wave of illegal immigration.  At the very least, I would have issued the following statement:“Although I have previously expressed support for amnesty, it is now abundantly clear that calls for amnesty before the enforcement measures are implemented will always spawn endless cycles of illegal immigration.  The approach I pursued last year was deeply flawed and I am now committed to shaming and embarrassing this administration into following the laws and preserving our sovereignty.  I still wish to deal with some other immigration-related issues, but none of that can be addressed until the lawlessness ends and this country is shielded from the harmful effects of illegal immigration.”Instead, Rubio put out this ambiguous statement . . .

Rubio is just one of many ignorant and/or malicious Republicans, Democrats and false teachers whose language on immigration has motivated millions of people to cross our borders.  Many are just children whose parents thought this was a way to help them, but in addition to committing felonies they have put these children in great danger.  The blood is on the hands of those who speak so irresponsibly and can’t see 15 minutes into the future.

People respond to incentives, and talk about DREAM Acts, immigration reform, etc. provide a gigantic incentive.  We need to close the borders and enforce immigration laws.  That won’t cure the problem, but it will make a marked improvement.  When jobs dry up people return to their homelands (it has happened before).  And it will reduce the demand for people coming to the U.S.

The importance of discernment and clear thinking

Ann Coulter makes some excellent points in Beware of Liberals Who Come in Evangelicals’ Clothing:

Any Evangelical promoting the McCain-Rubio amnesty plan has the moral framework of Planned Parenthood. Like the abortion lobby, they have boundless compassion for the people they can see, but none for those they can’t see.

One Evangelical after another told the Times that they no longer believe Americans should have control over who immigrates here on the basis of having met illegal aliens in their pews. The millions harmed by illegal immigration are left out of the equation. They don’t go to church here.

Similarly, the pro-choice crowd is brimming with compassion for girls who have gotten pregnant by accident. They’re in high school, their whole lives are ahead of them, it’s one mistake! The babies don’t count because they’re out of sight.

The Rev. David Uth, head pastor of First Baptist Orlando, said that based on “the stories out there in the pews” from illegals who “have made friends and who have become close with people here,” there was momentum in his church to “do something to address their needs.”

Mr. Uth and his parishioners will never hear stories from the thousands of Americans killed every year by illegal aliens. They won’t be sitting in the pews with those murdered and maimed in Boston last month by a conspiracy of immigrants.

They won’t hear from hospitals and school systems in border states forced into bankruptcy because they have to provide free services to illegals. They won’t chat with farmers and ranchers whose livestock and property are stolen or destroyed by illegal aliens.

It is sad to see people make un-principled decisions just because they feel sorry for someone they know.  I’ve seen countless people switch positions to directly oppose the Bible just because they know someone who is gay and they want them to be “happy.”  Or they become pro-choice because they feel sorry for a pregnant teen.  Or they oppose immigration laws because they know an illegal alien.  It is such a sad case of abandoning critical thinking skills and not thinking about the other victims and about what God says.  As Christians we should be mature, clear thinkers and not let emotions lead us to take immoral positions on these issues.

Looks like Arizona’s immigration laws worked: Violent crime is down 2-3 times the national average, among other benefits.  Too bad the Democrats are trying to find more ways to buy votes from illegal aliens.

Gambian President: We would ‘rather eat grass’ than accept homosexual behavior — The Obama administration would rather see poor people suffer than lose an opportunity to export oxymoronic “same-sex marriage.”  Hillary Clinton said that gay rights and human rights were “one and the same,” even though she and Obama are pro-abortion and ignore the rights of unborn humans.

Hate crime: gay activists vandalize Mark Driscoll’s Mars Hill Church — I was glad to see the church respond so graciously.  The behavior of the gay activists is egged on by false teachers who label bible-believing churches like Mars Hill as the “worst of Christianity,” while hypocritically claiming to oppose the violence against them (what would you expect from such accomplished liars?).  Expect to see more of this.  False teachers demonize the real church (not that I’m a Driscoll fan) and fan the flames of hatred against Bible believers.

EPA Official’s ‘Philosophy’ On Oil Companies: ‘Crucify Them’ – Just As Romans Crucified Random Conquered Citizens — Yes, these are your tax dollars and leaders at work.  But they are really working to keep your fuel costs low . . . right?!  Hat tip: John

Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) took to the Senate floor today to draw attention to a video of a top EPA official saying the EPA’s “philosophy” is to “crucify” and “make examples” of oil and gas companies – just as the Romans crucified random citizens in areas they conquered to ensure obedience.

Inhofe quoted a little-watched video from 2010 of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) official, Region VI Administrator Al Armendariz, admitting that EPA’s “general philosophy” is to “crucify” and “make examples” of oil and gas companies.

Too bad the media isn’t giving the same attention to the corrections on the George Zimmerman / Trayvon Martin case as they did to sensationalizing it:

Cut and dried. Case closed.

Then the white guy became a “white Hispanic.”

Then police reports about the injuries to the back of his head turned out to be true.

Then it turned out he never used a racial epithet in his 911 call.

And when he told the dispatcher, “He looks black,” it was in response to a direct question, not an indication of motive.

And when the dispatcher told him not to follow the kid, he said, “Okay.”

But other than that.

Now the original narrative just got even more “complicated,” which is what our moral, ethical, and intellectual superiors in the media always say when they’ve failed to dumb down an already-complicated situation. Reuters reports:

Cut and dried. Case closed.

Then the white guy became a “white Hispanic.”

Then police reports about the injuries to the back of his head turned out to be true.

Then it turned out he never used a racial epithet in his 911 call.

And when he told the dispatcher, “He looks black,” it was in response to a direct question, not an indication of motive.

And when the dispatcher told him not to follow the kid, he said, “Okay.”

But other than that.
But a more nuanced portrait of Zimmerman has emerged from a Reuters investigation into Zimmerman’s past and a series of incidents in the community in the months preceding the Martin shooting…

The 28-year-old insurance-fraud investigator comes from a deeply Catholic background and was taught in his early years to do right by those less fortunate. He was raised in a racially integrated household and himself has black roots through an Afro-Peruvian great-grandfather – the father of the maternal grandmother who helped raise him…

Though civil rights demonstrators have argued Zimmerman should not have prejudged Martin, one black neighbor of the Zimmermans said recent history should be taken into account.

“Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. I’m black, OK?” the woman said, declining to be identified because she anticipated backlash due to her race. She leaned in to look a reporter directly in the eyes. “There were black boys robbing houses in this neighborhood,” she said. “That’s why George was suspicious of Trayvon Martin.”

Guess she’s a racist too.

Loosening of UK IVF laws causes spike in fatherless children — That is tragic that the utter selfishness of the lesbians will deliberately result in fatherless children. That’s even worse than gays and lesbians adopting, which is very bad.

Illegal immigration = the ultimate outsourcing

Think about it.  The real objection to companies shifting jobs to other countries isn’t the location of the jobs, it is the move from U.S. citizens*  to non-U.S. citizens.  If the jobs went overseas to U.S. citizens I doubt people would object.

So what happens with illegal immigration?  Non-U.S. citizens take the jobs of U.S. citizens and consume far more resources than they contribute.  At least the Indian guy on the support desk isn’t demanding that you fund the medical and education costs for him and his family, and he isn’t committing crimes in this country.

The great irony is that open border Leftists like Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis are the ones who claim to care about the poor.  But the illegal immigrants drive down the wages of the poor in this country and take many of their jobs.  What kind of “social justice” is that?

If anyone objects to outsourcing of U.S. jobs – and most people seem to — do a consistency check and ask them their views on illegal immigration.  Be sure to gently point out any inconsistencies.

*or guests in the U.S. — i.e., people who have the proper immigration approvals

More inconsistencies — We’re Here, We’re Queer and We’re in Abject Denial — gay groups support Palestine, even though the Palestinians would kill them all if they had a parade there while Israel would not.

Israel. The only place in the Middle East where one can be gay in public, without fear of being jailed, tortured or killed. The useful idiots aligning with Palestine don’t even realize that Hamas, a terrorist organization intent on “wiping Israel off the map,” is also oppressing some of its own people, particularly women and homosexuals. But, see, this doesn’t matter to them. Hamas is anti-Israel and anti-America. This is all that matters. Because George Bush. And evil capitalist America. They are willing to turn a blind eye to true oppression and homophobia so rampant that it results in bloodshed and death, as long as it fits with their preferred global agenda.

Hillary: Let the babies starve until we fund abortions – they love expanding abortions so much that they’ll hold food and medicine for babies as a result.  You can really feel the love, eh?

Besides, Hillary’s statement is nothing short of idiotic.  Maternal health does not depend on abortion.  In fact, abortion is a rather moot point when it comes to the stage of worrying about the health of mothers of newborn infants, isn’t it?

Darwin Meets Orwell – call this one, “Thanks for the concession speech, Mr. Naturalist!”  We’ve said for some time that naturalism can’t ground morality and this “expert” fully concedes the point.  His logic and conclusions are muddy, but the net of it is great to hear.  Yes, yes, we agree!  If your worldview is true then people can’t be held accountable!

Glenn’s last piece on his Catholic series, Catholic Iconography and the “Saints.” Nice summary.  I know many Catholics who, based on what they profess to believe, would be in the “true Christian” category.  They either weren’t taught or don’t believe the false doctrines from Rome and they do believe the essentials.  But that doesn’t mean I’d point people there.  The Reformation happened for many good reasons.

. . . These are the heavy burdens of legalism placed upon the members of the Roman Catholic Church, which result in the Roman Catholic Church being a cultic organization, in which the majority of its members are not true Christians (as testimony after testimony of ex-members attest).

How do we then witness to Catholics? The best way is to show them that salvation is a one-time thing and that it is not as a result of works. Point them to Christ, and not to Mary, for salvation. And that everything their leaders say should be passed through the grid of Scripture.

As noted on my Facebook page, my backup dog chewed through the mesh and inside of my suitcase to get to some candy stored in the front compartment.  She ate the Mikes AND the Ikes.  This is a re-enactment; she ran away when I was coming down the hall the first time.  She has lost a lot of teeth but still managed to chew through the fabric.

Leviticus 19 and illegal immigration

Theological Liberals are often guilty of practicing Leopard Theology, where they claim that the Bible is only inspired in spots and that they are inspired to spot the spots, or Advanced Dalmatian Theology, where God is also changing spots and adding or removing spots, and, oddly enough, He is only telling theological liberals and progressives.

A prime example of that is in the case of illegal immigration (a phrase they can’t bring themselves to utter, always leaving off that pesky “illegal” part).  They are quick to quote Leviticus 19 to support their open borders / U.S. law defying view:

Leviticus 19:33–34 (ESV) When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

False teachers such as Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis insist that we should apply that teaching to the U.S. But do they preach that we should follow the next chapter as well, not to mention the rest of Leviticus or the Old Testament?  Of course not.

Leviticus 20:10–13 (ESV) If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. If a man lies with his father’s wife, he has uncovered his father’s nakedness; both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death; they have committed perversion; their blood is upon them. If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

I could offer fifty more examples like that from the Old Testament and the New.  But they just pick and choose what verses they like and ignore the context.

They ignore true teachings, such as that Jesus is the only way to salvation (over 100 times) and they teach a perverted view of the Gospel, yet pull out Israelite-specific commands like the one above and try to force their (misunderstood) religious beliefs on others.  Where is the ACLU when you need them?

Was Leviticus 19 written to Christians in the U.S., let alone the secular U.S.? No. Should we treat people kindly no matter where they are from? Of course. But should we obey the laws? Yep. Should we protect the borders? Of course.

Side note: Regarding the argument about the Israelites being illegal aliens, that is simply false. They were originally given permission to be in Egypt.

If they wanted to consider something more universal in nature, they should read Leviticus 18 (read the beginning and ending of the chapter — God is punishing the Canaanites and warning Israel not to be like them). Then read Leviticus 19, which applies specifically to the Israelites.  (Also see flaws of the shellfish argument for reading Leviticus in context.)

Why doesn’t Jim reference Romans 13 and the command to obey the laws of the country?

You get the same type of selective Biblical references by false teachers such as Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie here.  Follow the comments section and watch how he continually labels as racist anyone who disagrees with him, and how he dodges the question about whether it would be racist if Obama enforced the immigration laws of the country.  Theological Liberals really are pathetic in how they play the race card.

Should we love our neighbors?  Of course.  Let’s work the root causes and help Mexico fix their country.  If you think the U.S. is bad, go live in Mexico.  And as usual, let’s love our neighbors consistently with our own time and money.  Wallis & Co. want to love some of their neighbors with your money, and that isn’t biblical or logical.

And let’s read the Bible in context and not just pull out the things we like.

Free digital book about the responses to criticisms of Stephen C. Meyers’ Signature in the Cell.

Published in 2009, Signature in the Cell: DNA and the Evidence for Intelligent Design is recognized as establishing one of the strongest pillars underlying the argument for intelligent design.  To call the book fascinating and important is an understatement. No less interesting in its way, however, was the critical response and it is with that this book is concerned. For the fact is that despite SITC being written about in print and online by numerous friends and foes of intelligent-design theory, few—if any—of the critics really grappled with the substance of Meyer’s argument.  This is remarkable and telling. In this digital book which includes live links to the critics’ own writings, defenders of SITC analyze the hostile response.

Some good news: California: Alameda District Discontinues K-5 LGBT “Lesson 9” Curriculum

While the District had claimed that a LGBT curriculum was necessary to address bullying and harassment in elementary schools, documentation from the District obtained by PJI through a public records request revealed that, of the approximately 170 incident reports in an 18 month period, there were no school incidents of harassment due to sexual orientation in the elementary grades.

The whole initiative was the typical LGBT Trojan Horse.  Why would they need to destroy the innocence of children as young as kindergarten just to prevent bullying?  A simple anti-bullying policy is all you need.

Immigration roundup

No, not that kind of roundup.  Just a collection of excellent articles on the topic.

First, Got Questions has a good summary of the Bible and illegal immigration.

Here’s the text of Arizona SB 1070.  Opponents of it would be wise to actually read it and explain precisely why it is racist, Nazi-like, etc.  It mirrors the Federal law and apparently a California law as well.

The speech of the Mexican president is one of the most hypocritical acts I’ve ever seen and the reaction of some of the Democrats was treasonous.  This guy sends us his poorest people and criminals and gets money in return.  No conflict of interest there, eh?  Republicans should make commercials of the Democrats cheering this phony and play them daily until November.

How about if Arizona adopted Mexico’s border policy?

Hey, Cuba opposes the law so the Democrats are in good company there.

James White had a good summary about Arizona’s SB 1070 immigration law and its relation to the Ergun Caner topic.  Watch which sides focus on facts and logic and which just play to emotions.

SB 1070 is “Senate Bill 1070,” passed a few weeks ago here in Arizona. I am one of the very small percentage of human beings on the planet who has actually read the entirety of the legislation (it is not, like a certain “health care bill” rushed through Congress a few months ago, thousands of pages long). It only took a few minutes to read it. It is not difficult to understand. It says that if you are stopped by the normal actions of police officers (pulled over for traffic violations, apprehended after a crime, trespassing, etc.) and you cannot produce a driver’s license or other official identification (something we are all accustomed to doing), they have the right to inquire as to whether you are legally in the United States or not, and if not, they can begin the legal process leading to deportation.

Now, if I had not read the bill myself, I would never come to the conclusion that SB 1070 says what it says by watching a very wide variety of people on television, from the President of the United States, the Attorney General of the United States (neither of which had taken the time I did to actually read the bill), movie stars, entire sports teams (including the Phoenix Suns, who lost a supporter in yours truly when they injected politics into sport a few weeks ago) etc. and etc. The wild-eyed behavior of people I have observed is simply shocking in its excess, and its ignorance. Not only does California have a similar law on its books already, but the scolding of my home state by the President of Mexico (and the groveling applause he received in so doing) set new records for gross hypocrisy in that Mexico’s laws relating to illegal entrance into their country (combined with the massive corruption of the federal government of Mexico) makes Arizona’s law look like a rule from the local cookie bake off competition.

Jim Wallis distorts the Gospel, again

See Anti-Immigrant Law Passes in Arizona, ‘We Will Not Comply’ – Allison Johnson – God’s Politics Blog

While boo-hooing about the new Arizona law to address the huge problem of illegal aliens, the Sojourners blog does their usually distortion of the issue.

This law will make it illegal to love your neighbor in Arizona, and will force us to disobey Jesus and his gospel. We will not comply.”

Such hyperbole.  How is obeying the law to protect our borders not loving your neighbor?

How does following this law disobey the real Gospel?  The Gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins and rose again (1 Cor. 15).  Heck, this law doesn’t even violate Wallis’ made-up version of the Gospel, which he says is “all about wealth redistribution.”

This radical new measure, which crosses many moral and legal lines,

What legal lines does it cross?  And disobeying this law obviously crosses legal lines and they don’t have a problem with that.

Jim Wallis is a false teacher.
