The “Christian” Left claims that the Bible was written by bad men.

They don’t say the word bad, but that is obviously what they mean.  As John Wesley notes below, that is one of the three options, and the “Christian” Left has clearly dismissed the other two.

This book had to be written by one of three people: good men, bad men or God. It couldn’t have been written by good men because they said it was inspired by the revelation of God. Good men don’t lie and deceive. It couldn’t have been written by bad men because bad men would not write something that would condemn themselves. It leaves only one conclusion. It was given by divine inspiration of God. John Wesley

The Bible claims to speak for God in whole or in part several thousand times.  So either the authors were correct or they were a bunch of blasphemous pathological liars.  The text does not leave any middle ground.

The “Christian” Left does not believe that the Bible is from God, which is one of the reasons they are non-Christians.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.

Of course Obama isn’t a Christian, plus some great questions to ask Democrats

Via All the President’s Boot Lickers Still Pretend Obama is a Christian:

We should be asking Democrats if they believe taxpayers should pay for the sex change treatments of Bradley Manning.

We should be asking Democrats if they believe God created the Heavens and Earth.

We should be asking Democrats if they believe Muhammad is a legitimate prophet and, if yes, why aren’t they following him.

We should be asking Democrats if they believe gender is something you are born with or something you choose.

We should be asking Democrats if we need to raise taxes to pay for global warming cures.

We should be asking Democrats if they believe Jesus is a real person and, if yes, why aren’t they following him.

Is forgiveness possible? Don’t ask the “Christian” Left, ask a Christian!

ER

It was surprising but so encouraging to see that the clip below was on the TV show ER a couple years back.  The video is fictional, of course, but the premise occurs countless times every day around the world: People need and want forgiveness, but the world — and especially the “Christian” Left —  tells them lies.

The chaplain is the classic fake Christian you’d expect to find in most theologically liberal churches today.  I love how the patient doesn’t buy her “just make up a god in your own image” type of platitudes.

The money quotes from the dying patient:

All I’m hearing is some new age “God is love” one-size-fits-all crap . . . I don’t have time for this now . . . I want a real chaplain who believes in a real God and a real Hell . . . I don’t need to “ask myself,” I need answers, and all your questions and uncertainty are only making things worse . . .

I need someone who will look me in the eye and tell me how to find forgiveness, because I am running out of time!

Hey Christians, time to fire up!  Some people don’t want the truth.  But there are lots of real people like this in the world who need and want the truth.  They must be so sick of the lies and the politically correct “God is whoever you want him to be” nonsense taught by the world and by far too many churches.

Is it really so hard to understand that you do not get to tell the creator of the universe how eternity works?  You don’t set the terms and conditions of salvation any more than you get to tell your boss to triple your pay and give you 50 weeks of vacation, or tell your teacher that he must give you an A without you coming to class.

Christianity has the truth and the Good News, but far too many people claiming the name of Christ are unequipped and/or unwilling to share it, even when asked.  If that applies to you, then do something about it.  Right away!  I recommend Tactics by Greg Koukl as a great way to learn how to share your faith as an effective ambassador and apologist for Christ, just as the scriptures command.

2 Corinthians 5:20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
1 Peter 3:15–16 (ESV) but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

Are you ready to tell people the truth and the Good News?  Forgiveness, redemption and eternal life are possible, but only through trust in Jesus.

The “Christian” Left’s “Scott Walker didn’t finish college” meme will make a nice boomerang

Via Scott Walker Didn’t Finish College. And? | The Weekly Standard.

The Washington Post has a long article up about Scott Walker’s formative years. It has some fine reporting, but the overall tone and headline are curious: “As Scott Walker mulls White House bid, questions linger over college exit.”

Questions linger? Over what, exactly? It’s not a secret and it never has been that Walker didn’t finish college (well, it hasn’t been a secret in spite of the fact the obtuse scolds at Daily Kos are a bit confused). He left Marquette in his fourth year. Since then, Walker has had quite a political career as Milwaukee county executive, in the Wisconsin state assembly, and now governor. After all that time in public life, the majority of voters of Wisconsin haven’t had an issue with the man’s general intelligence level and it seems obvious enough that he’s a capable man. So why is the Post implying that his lack of a college degree is some sort of liability?

This is a winning issue for Walker and Republicans for several reasons.

  1. The only people who will care weren’t going to vote for him anyway.
  2. Most people don’t have degrees, and the Leftists’ elitist attitudes will turn many voters off.
  3. Yes, let’s talk about Walker’s college experience and why he left!  It wasn’t that he didn’t go, it was that he left to get a job shortly before he was done.
  4. Yes, let’s talk about how accomplished Walker has been even without that piece of paper!
  5. Yes, let’s talk about how ridiculously expensive college is because of Leftist policies!

Don’t shy away from this argument.  I’m very encouraged that it appears to be the best the Left has against Walker.  This guy has been through the equivalent of three national campaigns and they haven’t been able to make up anything that will stick.

Shocking news: Rob Bell mocks Bible

Via Oprah Asked This Ex-Megachurch Pastor When Christianity Will Embrace Gay Relationships — and His Answer Seemed to Take Her By Surprise

What a shocker: Rob Bell said:

I think culture is already there and the church will continue to be even more irrelevant when it quotes letters from 2,000 years ago as their best defense, when you have in front of you flesh-and-blood people who are your brothers and sisters, and aunts and uncles, and co-workers and neighbors, and they love each other and just want to go through life with someone

Did you see how he mocked the word of God?  Yeah, as if the Bible is too old to be a good defense.

Jude 3 Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.  For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Once again, http://wp.me/p1wGU-3P7 The Bible couldn’t be more clear.  Bible-believing Christians and even two out of the three types of pro-gay people* (religious or not) can see these truths:

– 100% of the verses addressing homosexual behavior describe it as sin in the clearest and strongest possible terms.

– 100% of the verses referring to God’s ideal for marriage involve one man and one woman.

– 100% of the verses referencing parenting involve moms and dads with unique roles (or at least a set of male and female parents guiding the children).

– 0% of 31,173 Bible verses refer to homosexual behavior in a positive or even benign way or even hint at the acceptability of homosexual unions of any kind.  There are no exceptions for “committed” relationships.

– 0% of 31,173 Bible verses refer to LGBT couples parenting children.

Having said that, I believe that Christians should support and encourage those who are fighting same-sex attraction.  And no one needs to grandstand on the issue before getting to the Good News of the cross: http://4simpsons.wordpress.com/2008/05/27/evangelism-experiences-1/ .

* The three general types of pro-gay theology people:

1. “The Bible says homosexuality is wrong but it isn’t the word of God.” (Obviously non-Christians)

2. “The Bible says it is wrong but God changed his mind and is only telling the theological Left.” (Only about 10 things wrong with that.)

3. “The Bible is the word of God but you are just misunderstanding it” (Uh, no, not really.)

Countering the “violinist” pro-abortion argument.

The “Christian” Left and other pro-aborts often use the “violinist” argument to justify killing unwanted children up until their first breath.  It basically posits that if a famous violinist connected himself to you against your will because he needed access to your kidneys, you would be under no obligation to keep him alive.  Therefore, you are also under no obligation to keep any other human being alive who is attached to you.

Like many pro-abortion arguments, it uses clever rhetoric and emotions to persuade people but it is ultimately fallaciouis.  This is a thorough and accurate reply to it, but Mike Adams’ quote is a perfectly pithy reply.

The principal weakness in Thompson’s violinist analogy is that it tries to draw moral equivalency between two very unequal things: a) Unplugging yourself from an adult involved in a criminal conspiracy to violate your bodily autonomy, and b) Cutting up a child guilty of no criminal wrongdoing.

My only tweak is that it isn’t just “a” child, it is the child of the one contracting for the killing.

The “Christian” Left lies about wanting “safe” abortions

For starters, abortions are never safe for the child killed in the procedure.

But the “Christian” Left and the rest of the Left lie when they say they want abortions to be safe for the mother.  If they believed that, they’d aggressively fight for clean clinics and for existing laws to be enforced.

All the “Christian” Left wants is more abortions, via no restrictions and taxpayer funding.  It is right there in the Democrats’ official platform:

The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay. We oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.

Via New York City: Where pizza parlors are safer than “filthy” uninspected abortion clinics:

Pro-lifers are not the only ones disgusted with these lack of inspections, however. Life Dynamics notes that the ads highlight actual reviews from women who went to the abortion clinics in New York City. Here’s a sampling of what they said:

“Filthy.”

“Disgusting.”

“Dirty.”

“The waiting room is dirty.”

“It spells of dried urine.”

“My worst experience ever.”

“Filthy medical equipment, looks like it’s from the 70’s.”

“A dirty, poorly operated clinic with zero care for the patients.”

“She balanced her tool tray on the garbage can.”

“Like something out of a back alley.”

“Don’t go there.”

“Like it hadn’t been cleaned in days.”

“Avoid at all costs.”

“It will cost you – your health.”

“Poorly operated.”

“One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had.”

P.S. Remember that the “Christian” Left insists that life begins at the first breath, so support killing unwanted children for any reason up to that point.

Episode #79 and counting of Mugged By Reality, the Obamacare Files

Via When They Have to Pay, ‘Liberal’ College Students Suddenly Revolt Against Obamacare-Like Health Fees.

Cornell University students are up in arms over a $350 student health fee that will be assessed to any student who doesn’t buy the university’s health insurance . . .

We’ve seen lots of these already and will get many more as the full pain of this government power-grab is fully implemented.  It was never really about helping people.

Update: Episode #80 — More Obamacare victims noticing that they’re gonna be on the hook to the IRS (seriously, that update came within minutes of the original post!)

—–

Remember that Jonathan Gruber was right about the Left, and they are seeing that more daily.

The fact that the Left wasn’t up in arms over Jonathan Gruber’s comments on the stupidity and lack of economic understanding of Obama supporters proves his points to be correct, and it proves our points about media bias and the tactics of the Left.

You’d think that the Left’s supporters would be offended by what Jonathan Gruber said about them. “Stupidity of the American voter . . . Lack of economic understanding of the American voter . . . Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage.” Ouch. That’s going to leave a mark.

But the key point is that he was talking about the Left, not the Right. He knew we were aware the lies.

He has the facts to support his points. Leftists literally fail at basic economics. And their lack of reaction proves how uninformed they are.

Could it be that they don’t know what he said, because the hopelessly biased mainstream media is “Gosnelling” the story?*

This will be golden for any election until the last politician who supported Obamacare is retired. Hopefully some Leftists will notice the ads and wonder why no one told them about the contempt their leaders have towards them.

* Kermit Gosnell is the most prolific serial killer in American history. But he was an abortionist so the media did an embargo on the story.

Another response to “28 Reasons I’m DONE Talking To Most Of My Conservative Friends And Family Members”

Via 28 Reasons I’m DONE Talking To Most Of My Conservative Friends And Family Members.

“2. You cite Jesus as your reasoning for rejecting marriage equality.

Yet the Bible only mentions homosexuality six times. Six. Times. 6. ”

How many times did the Bible have to say not to have sex with animals before you obey that?

You cheat by calling it “marriage equality.”  The relationships are not equal.  There is nothing unequal about only recognizing marriage between a man and a woman. It is the only logical position to take.

“Marriage equality” is a fallacious term.  Those relationships aren’t equal, as they can never produce children (as most hetero unions can) and they can never provide a mother and a father to a child (as all hetero unions can).

Anyone holding an opposing view is either advancing the homosexual agenda or they have been fooled by it.

Here’s why: 1. It is an oxymoron: “The same sex union of a man and a woman.” People have as much of a right to it as they do to a square circle. 2. By nature and design, homosexual couples can not produce children. 3. By nature and design, homosexual couples can never provide a mother and a father to a child, which is the obvious ideal whether you are religious or an atheist (there are no gay parents in Darwinian evolution). 4. Sexual behavior does not confer Civil Rights status.

Note that none of those reasons involve religious arguments, even though there is nothing wrong with letting our religious views inform our political views. If people want to know what Jesus thinks on the matter I’d be glad to tell them (short version: 100% of the Bible verses relating to homosexual behavior describe it as sin in the strongest possible terms, 100% of the verses addressing God’s ideal for marriage involve one man and one woman, 100% of the verses addressing parenting involve one man and one woman, and 0% of the verses refer to homosexual behavior in positive or even benign terms).

I anticipate several canards when addressing this topic, such as the “but they love each other” bit. Those arguments come from ignorance or disingenuousness. After all, no one — including all the Christians I know — is saying they can’t have relationships. Hey, they can go to any number of apostate churches and get “married.” The question is whether we want or need the government to regulate their relationships. We don’t.

What about hospital visitation, estate issues, etc.? They can be solved without changing the definition of marriage to “a union of any combination of things that we decide it to be.” For example, estate taxes are ghoulish and should be abandoned for everyone, not just gays (do you really want the gov’t to profit from your death?).

Children of same-sex couples do less well than those of married couples — http://winteryknight.wordpress.com/2014/03/08/study-children-of-same-sex-couples-do-less-well-than-those-of-married-couples/

The argument that Jesus never said anything about homosexual behavior (or abortion, etc.) fails on many levels.  If a church leader uses it you can be confident that he or she is ignorant and/or malicious.

Short version: Yes, He did say something about it, but the theological Left ignores or distorts it as they do with many things about Jesus and his teachings. Note how Jesus defeats oxymoronic “same-sex marriage,” same-sex parenting and even Darwinian evolution in one simple passage. No true follower of him should disagree on any of those topics.

Matthew 19:4–5 He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?”

Arguing from silence is a logical fallacy.

Jesus is God and part of the Trinity that inspired all scripture.

Note how Jesus defeats Darwinian evolution, oxymoronic “same-sex marriage” and same-sex parenting arguments in one simple passage.

He supported the Old Testament law to the last letter.

The “red letters” weren’t silent on these topics in the sense that they reiterated what marriage and murder were.

He emphasized many other important issues that these Leftist theologians completely ignore (Hell, his divinity, his exclusivity, etc.).

He was equally “silent” on issues that these folks treat as having the utmost importance (capital punishment, war, welfare, universal health care, taxpayer-funded abortions, etc.).

He didn’t specifically mention rape, child abuse, pedophilia, bestiality and other obvious sins though that wouldn’t justify them.

Abortion and homosexual behavior simply weren’t hot topics for 1st century Jews.  They actually thought children were a blessing and they had laws against homosexual behavior.

And the Gospels never claimed to include everything He said.  John specifically notes that the whole world couldn’t hold it all!  (John 21:25).

And Jesus never said anything about the “sin” of criticizing homosexual behavior, so it must be OK!

Long version: http://4simpsons.wordpress.com/2011/05/24/what-jesus-didnt-say-3/

“So why is this one of the biggest issues on your agenda? Why are you putting so much energy and hate into an issue that clearly wasn’t one of God’s major concerns?”

“YOU (we) have destroyed the sanctity of marriage. There is no possible way that gay marriage can do more harm to marriage than heterosexuals have done.”

Oxymoronic “same-sex marriage” causes all sorts of problems — Here are 300 examples of the LGBTQX agenda at work — large and small — http://englishmanif.blogspot.com/2014/07/300-articles-you-have-to-read-to.html

“Yet we seldom hear a sermon bemoaning the divorce rate or people living together before marriage. Why is that? Because the pews would be empty.”

1. You should go to real churches more often.
2. Yes, those are sins (at least most divorces are and all out-of-wedlock sex is).  But we don’t have people making parades about how adultery is something to be proud about.

All about Hillary

Hillary Clinton presents herself as a Christian but shows no fruit.  From her pro-abortion and pro-LGBTQX extremism to her long list of scandals she is the prototype “Christian” Leftist.

Here’s a classic report when trusted journalist Brian Williams exposes Hillary’s fake story about being shot at in Bosnia.

Like others on the “Christian” Left, she is a pro-abortion extremist.

As if we needed any more evidence that potential 2016 presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is not a moderate, it was announced today that EMILY’s List, an extreme pro-abortion organization, will be honoring her with one of their most cherished awards:

EMILY’s List, which works to elect Democratic women who support abortion rights, said Tuesday that Clinton would appear at its 30th anniversary awards gala in Washington on March 3. The former secretary of state will receive the group’s We Are EMILY Award to honor her leadership “as a fighter for women and families,” said Stephanie Schriock, the group’s president.

[…]Clinton’s pro-abortion agenda goes beyond accepting awards. In 1993, when she was attempting to transform the health care industry, she said that under her plan, abortion services “would be widely available.” Then, in 1999, she delivered a speech to NARAL, the National Abortion Rights Action League, in Washington, D.C., stating her goal of “keeping abortion safe, legal and rare into the next century.”

She’s just a regular person, right?  High-flying Hillary outspent Romney 9:1 on private jets in 2008 cycle.

She uses good Judgment and would never sell political favors: In 2008, Hillary offered to make Edwards attorney general if he would quit and endorse her.

Then there was the time she protected a rapist by attacking the 12 yr. old victim.  Why don’t feminists go nuts over that? It doesn’t sound like it was a “hard choice” for her to do it.  This is a thousand times more of a “war on woman” than anything the media exaggerates for Republicans.  If the media is forced to talk about this it will hurt her.

The Daily Beast’s Josh Rogoin took a break from his national-security beat and tracked down the victim in that crime, now 52, who alleges that Hillary Clinton did attack her as part of the defense, and much more. In the exclusive interview, Rogin reports the woman’s accusation that Hillary Clinton lied in court documents to portray her as a sex-crazed spoiled brat who threw herself at older men and then accused them of rape:

The victim’s allegation that Clinton smeared her following her rape is based on a May 1975 court affidavit written by Clinton on behalf of Thomas Alfred Taylor, one of the two alleged attackers, whom Clinton was appointed to defend.

“I have been informed that the complainant is emotionally unstable with a tendency to seek out older men and engage in fantasizing,” Clinton, then named Hillary D. Rodham, wrote in the affidavit. “I have also been informed that she has in the past made false accusations about persons, claiming they had attacked her body. Also that she exhibits an unusual stubbornness and temper when she does not get her way.”

Clinton also wrote that a child psychologist told her that children in early adolescence “tend to exaggerate or romanticize sexual experiences,” especially when they come from “disorganized families, such as the complainant.”

The victim vigorously denied Clinton’s accusations and said there has never been any explanation of what Clinton was referring to in that affidavit. She claims she never accused anyone of attacking her before her rape.

“I’ve never said that about anyone. I don’t know why she said that. I have never made false allegations. I know she was lying,” she said. “I definitely didn’t see older men. I don’t know why Hillary put that in there and it makes me plumb mad.”

. . .

Addendum: It’s worth noting that the Free Beacon has been banned from the University of Arkansas library archives after making the audio of the interview public. That decision, Alana Goodman reports, was made by a donor to … Hillary Clinton.

Then there is this long list of serious scandals.  I actually think the Travelgate issue is one of the worst, as it shows how she would gladly destroy innocent people to make herself look better.  No one would have objected if she had just put her own people in place as a result of political spoils, but in the most hypocritical way possible she tried to make herself look nice by being vicious.
