After I completed a couple of degrees and began associating with a group of financially intelligent individuals, I started to learn and apply sound financial principles.  I then realized that my financial situation had improved for two reasons: more education (resulted in a better job with higher pay and/or promotion on current job) and knowledge of how to manage and invest my income.  I also realized that my pastors never mentioned education or investments (other than investing in the kingdom of God) as a means to acquire wealth.

I then began to wonder why my wealthy pastors never encouraged their members to acquire as much education as possible as a means to a higher-paying job, or to seek out a professional financial planner to advise them on how to set up a budget and invest some of their income.  Is it because the wealthy pastors know that if their faithful followers become educated, it will more difficult to manipulate them?  In fact, on many occasions the pastors would mock the members who did have college degrees.

Serial monogamy is elevated to such lofty heights in our society that it would be easy to forget that all it really means is one at a time.   Women will always search for a societal definition of the boundary between good girls and sluts, and our current answer is:

Good girls don’t do more than one man at a time.

Many would assume that modern women no longer care about such trivialities as the difference between good girls and sluts, especially since we now have sluts literally marching down the streets of every major western city.  While this mistake is understandable, it misconstrues what the slutwalks are all about.  The slutwalkers claim to embrace the term slut, but if they didn’t feel a powerful stigma they wouldn’t be protesting.  If the slutwalkers really wanted to show how unconcerned they are with the stigma of the word, they would proudly display the number of penises they had personally sampled, each eager to one up the more prude and inexperienced in their ranks.  But this would be taking the whole slut thing a bit too far, so very few women would be willing to march with an honest number.

A friend asked, “If homosexuality is genetic, then why are there still gay people?”  (He’s on the correct side of the issue and just wanted to confirm his understanding).  My response: 1. It isn’t genetic (twin studies and the like). 2. Even if it was, it would still be a sin.  3. Darwnists tie themselves in knots trying to say why it and abortion fit with their “it’s all about getting your genes passed on” worldview.  They argue for both so strenuously that if the world had no gays or abortions they’d probably be wondering why they didn’t exist!  4. Yes, in theory, a gene would die out.  But of course they’ll claim that social pressures made gays reproduce.  5. I love to point out how the pro-gay/pro-abortion people wouldn’t vote for restrictions on hypothetical gays in the womb, whether genetic or even predispositions to be gay.  I’d be glad to vote for any restrictions on abortion, including that one, because it would save lives and prove the point that all abortions kill human beings.  And of course, it is consistent with my views that we should not be violent against gays — just that we should share the truth with them.
