So sheep food grows churches better than goat food? Who knew?

God, apparently.  But glad to see that some churches have caught on. The Hot ‘New’ Church Growth Method notes  that more conservative churches are growing faster than Leftist ones.

We must remember that religions can grow or shrink with bad doctrines or good.  If growth was the sole arbiter of soundness then Joel Osteen, Steven Furtick, Mormons, Muslims, etc. would be good people to go to.  But in our culture today, the “Christian” Left churches are doomed to shrink because they are indistinguishable from the world.  Why go to them for “doctrine” that is indistinguishable from the perversions, radical feminism and political correctness of college campuses, the mainstream media, and entertainment industries?  People can get God-mocking heresies for free 24×7.  Why waste time and money going to the “Christian” Left for more of the same?

Never forget that churchgoers who support “same-sex marriage”  — i.e., the “Christian” Left — have nearly identical views to the world on a host of issues such as abortion, adultery, porn, etc.  It shows who their real father is.
1 John 2:15-16 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.
Jude 4 For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

James 4:4 You adulterous people!  Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?  Therefore, whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

So there is good news here: Just preach from the Bible and you will probably grow.  And even if you don’t, you can be sure you’ve done the right thing.  Remember that preaching the Gospel honors Christ regardless of whether the hearers convert. It is always good to speak his truths.
Don’t worry about gimmicks to draw in the goats, especially when those tactics will starve or run off the sheep.  Don’t try to make the world love you.  It dishonors God and it won’t work.
Trust that the sovereign God will do just what He promised.  He is going to save those whose names He wrote in the Lamb’s Book of Life from before the world began.   The question is whether you and your church will be faithful to him in the mean time.

Revelation 20:15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

False teachers still pushing the fake Mike Brown narrative

Then again, what would children of the father of lies be expected to do?  False teacher Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis‘ Sojourners organization is trotting out their old lies about the death of Mike Brown:

Mike Brown means new theology. Mike Brown means the church has had a wake-up call. If or how it will be answered is the question. Mike Brown means from Episcopalians to Disciples of Christ to Lutherans to Methodists to United Church of Christ to the Southern Baptist Convention, so-called followers of Jesus are being watched for how they engage #PropheticGrief in this age. If the body of Christ cannot weep with black mothers burying their children, then it is bankrupt, hollow, and full of dead bones that no church revitalization program can fix.Mike Brown means changing the system from within and dismantling it from without.Mike Brown means a new #StayWoke spirit that is breathing down America’s neck. Mike Brown means #ICantBreathe and I can’t sleep, so I stay awake, eyes open to the oppression, injustice, and pain of our world.Mike Brown means a new justice movement with respect for leadership from elders and for youth. Mike Brown means a new justice movement with women and queer people front and center, with intersectionality that will not be set aside in order to win a single issue.Mike Brown means that until black teenagers are free to walk down the street, to go to pool parties, and listen to loud music without being injured or murdered, none of us is free.

The rest of it was gibberish like that.  My response to them:

What a complete load of nonsense. It is well documented that Brown was a bully who broke the law and foolishly dealt with police. He ended up dead just as any white person would have in the same circumstances. It is shameful that race-baiters deceive their followers with these lies.

Oh, and here is what your foolishness has wrought: Black Lives Matter Activists Get Right in Bernie Sanders’ Face During Speech, Bully Him Offstage, Take Over Event: ‘White Supremacist Liberals’.

Hope you are happy. The people you tried to appease (not all blacks, thankfully!) consider even the “Christian” Left and their heroes like socialist Bernie Sanders to be “white supremacist liberals.” In an odd way they are correct. The Left has done nothing but harm blacks. It is partly because of the Saul Alinsky and Cloward/Piven strategies played out by Obama & Co. that deliberately try to make people more miserable. Broken families, prison, poverty, joblessness, etc. can all be traced back to Leftist policies.

And as always, the “social justice” people ignore and hide the truth of the ultimate social injustice and institutional racism, where black babies are killed at a rate three times that of whites via abortion. Yet Sojo can’t bring themselves to even mention the Planned Parenthood videos that document just how much contempt they have for their “patients.”

I get so tired of the “Christian” Left pretending to care about black people. The real racism is the Leftist pro-abortion, pro-genocide machinery that crushes, dismembers and sells blacks for profit at a rate three times that of whites.

The real racism is agenda that encourages single motherhood and the resulting drugs/crime/dropouts/homelessness/etc.

The real racism is the illegal immigration policies that suppress black wages and take black jobs and the race-baiters who stoke the flames of racism for profit.

The real racism is bowing down to teachers’ unions and limited school choice for black children.

The real racism is ignoring how black-on-white crime dwarfs the reverse.

The real racism is ignoring whites killed by the police.

And the real racism is pretending that blacks can only succeed when white Leftists help them.  Oops — I meant White Supremacist Liberals.  Hey, maybe that crowd is onto something!

UPDATE: Not surprisingly, Sojourners blocked me after that comment.  Feel free to stop by and leave them a comment yourself.

Sojourners mimics Obama and is now all-gay, all the time

Just like President Obama, who repeatedly lied about his views on homosexuality and marriage only to “change his mind” when it was convenient, Sojourners has come kicking and screaming out of the closet — as if false teacher Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis was ever a true Bible-believer.  Via How a Gay Football Player Could Help Redeem the Church we see false teacher Adam Ericksen tell us about how gay football player Michael Sam should be our role model — even though he doesn’t even know if Sam is a Christian!

I don’t know if Michael Sam is a Christian, but the character he showed in his interview with ESPN is infused with the Spirit of Christ. And that’s a model of identity that could help redeem the church.

Hey, the guy is gay and comfortable with his sexual perversion, so that’s all Adam needs to know.  Michael must be our moral superior!

Adam is typical of the blind men of Sodom, groping for the door for more evil even though he is spiritually blind.  And he is a Romans 1 poster boy, suppressing the truth in unrighteousness and encouraging homosexual behavior.

Now that wolves like Wallis and Ericksen have long since taken off the sheep’s clothing, people have no excuse for following them.

Ericksen blathers about peace on his blog but is pro-abortion. What a fake.

Another bad “top 10 list” from Sojourners

The blog of Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis often runs these “top ten lists” of things Christians shouldn’t say or do, such as 10 Things You Can’t SAY While Following Jesus by Mark Sandlin.  Sandlin is a “progressive Christian,” who predictably gives a list of 10 judgments on others — including his judgment on others who judge!  This time it came in at #4:

 4) It’s okay to judge.

Recently, there has been a rash of Christian bloggers defending their right to judge. I guess it’s a thing. All the cool bloggers are doing it.

Of course it is OK to judge in a proper manner (e.g., John 7:24).  Sandlin judges all the time.  Only he’s the one violating scripture by doing it hypocritically.

Then there is this bit of nonsense saying that if some Bible had a bad translation of a word that we should never appeal to it as the source of truth.  Seems like something a non-Christian would say . . .

3) Because the Bible tells me so (or “it’s in the Bible”).

The King James Bible tells me there are unicorns – 9 times.

I’m sorry, I got distracted. What was it you were telling me about using the Bible to prove a fact?

Satan and Mark Sandlin agree: “Did God really say . . .?”  Yeah, definitely don’t go to God’s word for the final answer on something.  And Sandlin displays his hypocrisy again with this entry.  Where did he get his [bad interpretation of] God’s views on judging?  Like most Leftist Christians, he considers the Bible to be authoritative on the parts he agrees with.

Wallis and Sandlin are not only enemies of the real Gospel, they are unoriginal and repetitive enemies of the Gospel.

One of the many reasons you can know that Jim Wallis and Sojourners are fakes

They have article after article on Catholics and never note that their views are irreconcilable with Christianity.  Here’s one of many examples: Stephen Colbert on Pope Francis, Cardinal Dolan and (of Course) Stephen Colbert – David Gibson | God’s Politics Blog | Sojourners.

Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis is a fake who pretends to be a centrist while he is really a Leftist extremist.  And he pretends to be an evangelical while being a cheerleader for the Pope.

If you can’t see that Wallis is a wolf, you’ve got a problem.

Why the Left really wants immigration “reform”

*False teachers like Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis have a steady stream of pro-amnesty pieces pretending that illegal immigration is a good thing (they tip their hands by never acknowledging that the immigration they are advancing is indeed illegal).  They even try to prop it up by saying that the church needs it.  But the Holy Spirit does not require illegal immigration to do his work.

The article in bold conflated legal and illegal immigration. I shouldn’t have to point out the difference. The immigration “reform” is basically an open borders policy deliberately pushed by the Left to create what they hope will be a permanent Democrat voting block. Don’t take my word for it, listen to what the former head of ACORN and an SIEU union executive have to say via Left-Wingers Push Immigration Reform to Create Permanent Voting Block & ‘Boost Black Power’

Many in the media and the left claim that it is absurd when people say that the only reason Democrats care about amnesty is so that they can get millions of instant Democrat voters, but not every leftist tries to hide behind that lie. Some leftists, Like ACORN’s Bertha Lewis, are telling the truth.

Lewis spoke to last week’s Congressional Black Caucus conference and noted that immigration reform should be used to “boost black power.”

Lewis, the former head of the criminal group ACORN, told her audience that all the new minorities that will be sudden citizens with amnesty will become a new, permanent governing majority that she and the black power structure can control.

“[Minorities] need to get together because if we’re going to be [part of the non-white] majority, it makes sense for black people in this country to get down with immigration reform,” Lewis insisted keeping her attention only on non-white Americans.

“Everyone, even all white folks in this country, acknowledge that in a minute, [the] United States of America will be a new majority, will be majority minority, a brand-new thing,” she said.

Working up her best hatemongering, race baiting, Lewis went on saying, “for the first time ever in history, African-Americans outvoted white Americans. Oooh. That’s the fear of the white man. That could change everything. That’s why [immigration] should matter to us…”

There is something a bit self-delusional about this elation from Lewis. The millions of sudden new American voters that will be created by amnesty are Latinos. Lewis imagines that her black caucus will be able to control those new millions.

I think she may find that her black “leaders” will be eclipsed by new leaders from the Latino community. Why does she think they will all just file in behind the moribund black leadership? I think she’s fooling herself.

. . .

Don’t let anyone lie to you folks. Immigration “reform” means a permanent Democrat majority.

It is hard to believe that the Congressional Black Caucus would look at black unemployment rates — which have gotten disproportionately worse under Obama’s policies — and think that bringing in millions of Mexicans to consume jobs and benefits will help blacks.  Of course, if they really wanted to help blacks they wouldn’t vote for Democrats.

The news media AND theologically Liberal “Christian” leaders are to blame for Obama

Everything written in Obama’s Travesty of Leadership: The News Media Shares Culpability applies to the false teachers* who helped Obama get elected twice.  They either knew or should have known what he was really like.  We Bible-believing conservatives knew!

Before he ran for President, Obama’s short careers as a lawyer and politician were studded with events that clearly indicated a weak character that would be dangerous in the presidency: representing Chicago slumlords and getting poor people—African-Americans, no less—thrown into the street in freezing weather, and winning elections via crony David Axelrod’s underhanded means. But the news media widely chose to not publicize those events: chose to instead glamorize Obama. He was from Harvard, brilliant, a gifted communicator, even our savior: hail Obama, minus the stiff-armed salute.

Some indications suggest, and were largely ignored by most major news media companies, that even in high school and undergraduate and graduate school, Obama showed a suspect character. By his own admission, he used drugs every day and skipped class in high school. His supporters, including those working for major news media companies, apparently thought this made him cool.

Since becoming president, Obama’s questionable character has shown itself repeatedly: his “green-energy” program, which looks like a means to repay rich, fat-cat campaign donors; his “fast-and-furious” gun scandal, which apparently entailed illegally selling US guns to Mexican drug dealers so they’d use the guns to kill people and create anti-gun fervor in the US; his continual, and very public, practice of encouraging supporters to aggressively attack those opposing him, so they’d do exactly what his supporters embedded within the IRS have done. Like a common bully, he publicly jeers at and insults his opposition, and his supporters love every word of it. They support him for who and what he is; because he divides rather than unites Americans; because he seeks to publicly humiliate half the US population; because he plays dirty; because he talks a smooth line of bologna.

Throughout all of this, most major news media companies have either remained silent or even defended Obama. Thus encouraged, he became bolder. His character, already weak, folded completely, and his arrogance, which has filtered throughout his administration, has run amok: widespread, unmonitored use of drones for killing . . . some people, we don’t know for sure whom; arming Mexican drug lords; domestic spying and harassment. You name it. He’s even grossly misrepresented his Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, named “Obamacare” erroneously because he neither conceived of nor wrote it. It doesn’t “provide healthcare for 30 millions Americans,” as he’s said. It provides health insurance, and the two are usually opposed to each other; health insurers work to minimize costs by minimizing and/or denying care. The federal government, already deeply into the healthcare business, is now in the health insurance business as well, and our beloved, trustworthy IRS is in charge.

The “social gospel” vs. the real Gospel

False teachers must not read the Bible, or they are so jaded that they pretend that they can be Leopard Theologians and just pick the spots they like.  Those who preach a “social gospel” should know that by definition they are now accursed:

Galatians 1:8–10 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

That seems pretty clear.  Preaching a gospel of one’s choosing isn’t just a little different, it is the opposite and a profoundly bad thing.  People like Jim Wallis who say that “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” are mocking this passage.

Yes, the real Gospel will lead to all sorts of good deeds.  But the good deeds aren’t the Gospel.  If you tell people that they must be good to be saved, that’s the bad news, not the good news, because we will always fail.  Without Christ, our good deeds are like polluted garments to God (Isaiah 64:6).

The real Gospel is Jesus dying for our sins and rising from the dead.  If we focus on sharing that, then transformed lives and cultures will follow and you’ll get all sorts of authentically good deeds.

1 Corinthians 15:1–11 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

So if you really want to improve the world, share the real Gospel.

Typical comments of Sojourners’ followers

I noticed the following comments left at Top 4 Reasons Jesus Is My Favorite Feminist from the blog of Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis:

Liberal guy: But then you have Paul aka Saul of Tarsus in 2 Timothy going on his anti-female screed.

Liberal woman 1: Paul is not Jesus. Paul seems to be a split personality in his writings. He says a number of things that I suspect Jesus would not have agreed with

Liberal woman 2: Thank you! Finally, someone who gets it: Paul was not divine, nor was he anything other than a man who seemed to be quite conflicted in many ways. Personally, I have little use for most of his misguided and inconsistent writings. I’ve never really understood the church’s seemingly endless fascination with Paul–it’s almost as if he’s right up there next to Jesus, and that’s a ludicrous premise. Paul is waaaaaay overrated.

It is odd to me how someone can claim to be a Christian yet be so dismissive of huge parts of the Bible.  Here was my response:

No one claimed that Paul or any other Bible writers were divine. But everything Paul wrote in the Bible turned out exactly as God wanted it to, and Jesus, as part of the Trinity, agrees with it. If you say otherwise you are creating a god in your own image. You are sitting in judgment of the Bible and only accepting as inspired the parts that agree with your sensibilities (see 2 Tim 4:3, among others). Have you gone through all 31,173 verses to tell us which are “really” from God and which aren’t, and why should we trust your interpretation — which just happens to agree with the world’s perspective?

Having said that, I have yet to find a “Paul was a misogynist!!!” person who actually studied all of the Bible carefully.

Remember, Paul wrote, “Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church.” If you think about that you’ll realize it is the highest possible standard.

Paul was surely perceived just as radically and politically incorrect in his day as he is in ours, but for the opposite reasons. Take off the modern blinders that equate feminism with the right to have your unborn children killed, then read all of what He wrote and consider how God’s word elevated women relative to their treatment at that time.

Roundup

Looks like Arizona’s immigration laws worked: Violent crime is down 2-3 times the national average, among other benefits.  Too bad the Democrats are trying to find more ways to buy votes from illegal aliens.

Gambian President: We would ‘rather eat grass’ than accept homosexual behavior — The Obama administration would rather see poor people suffer than lose an opportunity to export oxymoronic “same-sex marriage.”  Hillary Clinton said that gay rights and human rights were “one and the same,” even though she and Obama are pro-abortion and ignore the rights of unborn humans.

Ineptocracy — a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Hate crime: gay activists vandalize Mark Driscoll’s Mars Hill Church — I was glad to see the church respond so graciously.  The behavior of the gay activists is egged on by false teachers who label bible-believing churches like Mars Hill as the “worst of Christianity,” while hypocritically claiming to oppose the violence against them (what would you expect from such accomplished liars?).  Expect to see more of this.  False teachers demonize the real church (not that I’m a Driscoll fan) and fan the flames of hatred against Bible believers.

It’s now been 3 full years since Senate Democrats last passed a budget — the title is the story.  If it was the Republicans you’d never hear the end of this, but I bet if you quizzed Democrats they wouldn’t even know about it.

The hypocrisy of Sojourners and Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis is boundless.  They are pro-legalized abortion, yet are running a campaign saying that Christians must be the voice for poor & vulnerable people during the election.

EPA Official’s ‘Philosophy’ On Oil Companies: ‘Crucify Them’ – Just As Romans Crucified Random Conquered Citizens — Yes, these are your tax dollars and leaders at work.  But they are really working to keep your fuel costs low . . . right?!  Hat tip: John

Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) took to the Senate floor today to draw attention to a video of a top EPA official saying the EPA’s “philosophy” is to “crucify” and “make examples” of oil and gas companies – just as the Romans crucified random citizens in areas they conquered to ensure obedience.

Inhofe quoted a little-watched video from 2010 of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) official, Region VI Administrator Al Armendariz, admitting that EPA’s “general philosophy” is to “crucify” and “make examples” of oil and gas companies.

Too bad the media isn’t giving the same attention to the corrections on the George Zimmerman / Trayvon Martin case as they did to sensationalizing it:

Cut and dried. Case closed.

Then the white guy became a “white Hispanic.”

Then police reports about the injuries to the back of his head turned out to be true.

Then it turned out he never used a racial epithet in his 911 call.

And when he told the dispatcher, “He looks black,” it was in response to a direct question, not an indication of motive.

And when the dispatcher told him not to follow the kid, he said, “Okay.”

But other than that.

Now the original narrative just got even more “complicated,” which is what our moral, ethical, and intellectual superiors in the media always say when they’ve failed to dumb down an already-complicated situation. Reuters reports:

Cut and dried. Case closed.

Then the white guy became a “white Hispanic.”

Then police reports about the injuries to the back of his head turned out to be true.

Then it turned out he never used a racial epithet in his 911 call.

And when he told the dispatcher, “He looks black,” it was in response to a direct question, not an indication of motive.

And when the dispatcher told him not to follow the kid, he said, “Okay.”

But other than that.
But a more nuanced portrait of Zimmerman has emerged from a Reuters investigation into Zimmerman’s past and a series of incidents in the community in the months preceding the Martin shooting…

The 28-year-old insurance-fraud investigator comes from a deeply Catholic background and was taught in his early years to do right by those less fortunate. He was raised in a racially integrated household and himself has black roots through an Afro-Peruvian great-grandfather – the father of the maternal grandmother who helped raise him…

Though civil rights demonstrators have argued Zimmerman should not have prejudged Martin, one black neighbor of the Zimmermans said recent history should be taken into account.

“Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. I’m black, OK?” the woman said, declining to be identified because she anticipated backlash due to her race. She leaned in to look a reporter directly in the eyes. “There were black boys robbing houses in this neighborhood,” she said. “That’s why George was suspicious of Trayvon Martin.”

Guess she’s a racist too.

Loosening of UK IVF laws causes spike in fatherless children — That is tragic that the utter selfishness of the lesbians will deliberately result in fatherless children. That’s even worse than gays and lesbians adopting, which is very bad.
