A major inconsistency

I find it puzzling that pro-legalized abortionists are so quick to help people destroy their own children — and they even want taxpayer funding to make that happen — but they also expect people to pay taxes to support the children of others.

But if you not only ignore the obligation to provide support to your own child when you are the only one in a position to do so, how can you possibly expect / require people to help those who aren’t their children?

By the way, I’m all for helping widows, orphans and those who can’t help themselves.  I just prefer to do it with my own wallet instead of forcing the government to take it from you.  I have seen how many lives they have destroyed with the policies that inevitably result in generational poverty and broken families.

Mega-roundup

I’ve been trying to do more individual posts instead of roundups, but there has been a lot of craziness lately.  Here goes.

A great response to Bill Keller of the NY Times — He may be intelligent but he isn’t wise.  His analysis was horrible.  He also tips his hand in conceding the phony religiosity of people like Obama and Clinton.  After all, they claim the name of Christ as well.  But the Left doesn’t think they are really Christians so they don’t get upset about it.  But when Perry and Bachmann appear to really believe, then Keller and the other bigots freak out.

I’m all for breast cancer research, but here’s why I don’t donate to the Susan Komen Foundation: Komen 2010 donation to Planned Parenthood hits $569,000

When asked, Komen states that gifts to Planned Parenthood are justified because PP does mammograms. The black eye got even darker when it was revealed that PP actually does not do mammograms, but routine breast exams that a woman can do on herself.

The biggest problem with the PP donation is that a legitimate abortion-breast cancer link has been documented in studies. So, Komen gives funds raised to cure breast cancer to an organization that is increasing breast cancer risk as the nation’s largest abortion provider.

Hey Komen organization:  Call me when you stop supporting an organization that kills babies for a living.

Is the mainstream press addressing how Gibson Guitars, owned by a Republican contributor, was raided by the Department of Justice on a petty charge while its competitor, owned by a Democratic contributor, was not?   Do Liberals care about what might be a massive abuse of power?

Are you smarter than Rick Perry?  Here’s a test for the oh-so-smart class: Do you think there is a Social Security “trust fund” or “lockbox” where the contributions to date are stored?  If so, then Rick Perry is a lot smarter than you.  He knows that Social Security is a Ponzi scheme.  Anyone who tells you otherwise is ignorant or lying to you.  From the video at the link:

We need to have a conversation with America, just like we’re having right here today. And admit that it is a Ponzi scheme for these young people. The idea that they’re working and paying into Social Security today, that under the current program is going to be there for them, is a lie. It is a monstrous lie on this generation and we can’t do that to them

Perry also said he stood for the rights of non-believers.

Also see Perry on Obama: How “smart” do you have to be to let the economy get this bad? — This should be fun!  The DNC and its media and theologically liberal allies are going through the laundry list of memes about Rick Perry — religious nut, stupid, etc.  But if Obama & Co. are so brilliant why have they failed to achieve any of their economic commitments?

And if Obama is so smart, what were his college grades?  Oh, right, he won’t release them.

Here’s a good response to the made-up “dominionist” charge against Bachmann and Perry.  The anti-religion bigots / haters seem to be test-marketing that meme.

Great analysis by Stan on the “God and sex-slaves” debate.

Homosexual students automatically eligible for scholarship: Elmhurst college — So how do they test for that?  Here’s a shocker: The college is associated with the apostate United Church of Christ.

In a recent statement, David Smith, executive director of the Illinois Family Institute, criticized the college’s comparison between sexual orientation and ethnic identity

“In defending their decision to include a question about ‘sexual orientation,’ by asserting an offensive and absurd comparison of race to a condition constituted by subjective desire and volitional sexual acts, Elmhurst College administrators reveal their own ignorance,” said Smith.
Elmhurst is affiliated with the liberal leaning United Church of Christ, which became the first denomination in the country with an openly gay minister when it ordained William Johnson in 1972.

Rep. Carson Accuses Tea Party Representatives in Congress of Wanting to Lynch Blacks — Subtle.  I think this is the guy who declared war on the Tea Party.  And we have Congresswoman Maxine Waters saying Tea Partiers should go to Hell.  Can’t you feel the love and tolerance?

So when race riots break out can we blame Carson and all the other race-baiters?  Shouldn’t the media be asking if the black-on-white flash mob attacks have been instigated by this inflammatory rhetoric?

Rep. Carson has a history of making unsupported accusations of racism at the Tea Party. You may recall that he is the Rep. who claimed to have been called the N-word “15 times” while passing through a group of Tea Party protesters on Capitol Hill. When video appeared that refuted part of his story (he wasn’t mobbed and received no police escort) he changed his story. No video supporting his N-word claim ever appeared.

If you ever wondered how coordinated the liberal media bias is, read about Journolist.  It is interesting how quickly these “independent” fact finding types all agree on the same meme, such as tying Sarah Palin to the Arizona shootings.  What is really interesting is how fake Christians like Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie immediately came out with the same Palin chatter — almost as if he was on the distribution list for the DNC talking points!  He was right on time and on script with the Perry bashing as well.

Good overview of false teacher Benny Hinn.  He is so transparently fake that I barely feel sorry for those duped by him.

President Obama has Tour Buses Flown to Stump Speeches — Remember the taxpayer-funded campaign tour?  It is much worse than you thought.  He didn’t just blow $2m on buses made in Canada, he had them flown around just so he could appear to be riding in them.  Your tax dollars (not) at work!

Gay activist explains how same-sex marriage will change marriage — Hey, I thought they didn’t want to change it?!   Seriously, read the post and note how flippant they are about “non-monogamous same-sex marriage.”

Responding to the “pro-lifers just want to control women’s bodies!” sound bite

It is a common mode of attack for pro-legalized abortionists to put pro-lifers on the defensive by accusing them of wanting to control women, but the charge is false.

First and most importantly, we want to protect the body of the unborn, not control the body of the mother.

Also, consider the inconsistency of the Liberals who lodge that claim.  They typically want to control everything about your life: Your wallet (i.e., taxes), education, how you discipline your children, what goes into Happy Meals, your speech, the car you drive and more.

And at least 50% of all abortions and nearly 100% of gender selection abortions kill females, so the pro-legalized abortionists aren’t just controlling those bodies, they are complicit in destroying them.

The haters are so quick to judge

Just watch the video.  The audience knew she was kidding.  But the Bachmann haters are acting like she misspoke.  See Michele Bachmann Says Hurricane Irene And Earthquake Are Divine Warnings To Washington (VIDEO).  Pathetic.  And they pretend that President Teleprompter hasn’t had a gaffe-tastic time the last few years.  “Corpse-man,” anyone?  I make it a point to be charitable with people who misspeak, but this is a two-way street, folks.

More hate documented here, where Bachmann asked a rain-soaked crowd, “Who likes wet people?,” only to have a popular liberal blog edit it to have her say, “Who likes white people?”  The hateful race-baiters have no scruples.

False teachers and Galatians 2:20-21

People who claim the name of Christ and insist that other religions are equally valid paths to God are horribly mistaken.  As Paul notes below, if you could be righteous by following rules then Christ died for no reason.

Galatians 2:20-21  I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.

That is one of the reasons that false teachers are so repulsive: They mock the cross and imply that Jesus died for no purpose.  When fakes claim that we have as much to learn from other religions as they do from us, just ask what those other religions can tell us about Jesus that isn’t in the Bible.

If these fakes teach in your church, get rid of them or leave.  (I predict they’ll tell you that Galatians is wrong.)

Save this one for debating anti-voter ID folks

See You Need ID in D.C. to Get Sandbags for Irene, But No ID to Vote?.

From the government:

Residents, with DC identification, may pick up sandbags (up to five per household) at RFK Stadium, Lot 7.

A great response:

“Need ID to pick up sandbags, but not to vote,” she snarked.

Totally hilarious, no?

You need a valid ID to save your home, but you don’t need an ID to vote??

Absolutely incredible and Good Night Irene.

And, last, what are you supposed to do with just five sandbags? Save the dog house in the back yard?

Twitter friend Meredith Reed notes another amusing aspect to this story. What is the main criticism that lefties have about voter ID laws? It is that “the poor” are being kept from voting because it is a “poll tax” to have the onerous requirement of getting a state ID. So, Meredith wonders why Democrats in D.C. are now forcing “the poor” to lose their homes in a storm because they have that oppressive requirement of having an ID to get their five little sandbags?

WHY oh WHY does the left hate the poor?

Jesus says you are evil.

Seriously.  It is right there in the Sermon on the Mount.  He is so matter of fact about it.  And it appears right after the passage where He said “Do not judge,” as if He has some special authority or something.

Matthew 7:7-11 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

So if someone says that people are basically good, then they are disagreeing with Jesus.

You either are Jesus, or you need Jesus.  And we aren’t Jesus.

P.S. He says I’m evil, too, and I need him.

Ever notice how Arminians sometimes act and pray like Calvinists?

I’m not trying to start the whole Calvinism / Arminian debate here, I’m just making an observation.  I’ve known people who oppose Reformed Theology (aka Calvinism), but they talk and pray like Calvinists when it comes to evangelism and salvation.

If you talk about evangelism they are quick to say it is all up to God, and they’ll pray for God to change people’s hearts.  It is a humble sentiment, but it just doesn’t seem to fit in with their Arminian theology.  I wonder if it is an excuse to avoid the hard and risky work of evangelism?  They don’t seem to want God to “woo” people, they seem to want him to really change them — forever.

I lean to Reformed Theology now but caught myself thinking the same way when I leaned towards Arminianism.

Good news: Another Planned Parenthood manager quits and becomes pro-life

The next best thing to seeing someone convert to authentic Christianity: The new Abby Johnson?: Another Planned Parenthood manager quits and converts to pro-life (emphasis added).

In a press release from 40 Days for Life-Dallas, Ramona Trevino explains that although the particular Planned Parenthood where she worked did not perform surgical abortions, she was struggling “with [her] conscience . . . on contraception, abortion and [her] role in it all.”

Just like Abby Johnson, Trevino credits a 40 Days for Life campaign outside her Planned Parenthood facility with helping her movement towards a pro-life way of thinking.

After the 40 Days campaign came to Sherman, she says she went from believing she was providing a service to women in need, to realizing that Planned Parenthood “treated women like cattle and how they only cared about making money” – a realization she says was “long overdue.”

Should we be more like Ezekiel?

God gave an interesting command to Ezekiel, telling him to preach the truth and noting that if he didn’t, then he would be accountable for the people, but if he did, then the people would be accountable.

I’m not saying that command applies to present day Christians, but it is worth thinking about.  Do we warn others of the truth?  If we thought we’d be accountable for withholding the truth would that change things?

Ezekiel 3:16-21  And at the end of seven days, the word of the LORD came to me:”Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me.  If I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.  But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die for his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul. Again, if a righteous person turns from his righteousness and commits injustice, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die. Because you have not warned him, he shall die for his sin, and his righteous deeds that he has done shall not be remembered, but his blood I will require at your hand.  But if you warn the righteous person not to sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live, because he took warning, and you will have delivered your soul.”
