Great post by the Bumbling Genius about worldviews and voting.

Older people now, by handing their healthcare over to the government, is in essence handing it over to the up and coming generation, a generation that has been taught by the same older people that there are no absolutes, not even that everyone should absolutely get taken care of when they’re sick or broken.

But wait, it is even worse: That same generation has also been taught that it is all about their self-esteem and happiness and how wonderful they are. Combine that with their moral relativism and it will take about 15 minutes for them to rationalize away taking care of old people.

I noticed that the Leftist media is working to keep the Akin rape comments issue alive and trying to pin it on Romney.  But Romney rapidly refuted Akin’s comments in a clear and thorough fashion.  That only leaves two options.

1. The Left agrees with Akin.  After all, if Romney strongly opposed Akin and the Left strongly opposes Romney, what other option is there?

2. The Left knows Romney disagreed with Akin but is so desperate to destroy Romney and avoid accountability for Obama that they have no choice but to lie.

Should Anyone Be Surprised That MSNBC Cut The Speeches Of Republican Minorities?  If you only get your news from the Leftist media you are part of the problem.

(Red Alert Politics) MSNBC wants you to think the Republican Party hates minorities. So much so that the liberal news network cut minority speeches from it’s convention coverage.

Code Pinkos Descend on RNC Dressed as Giant Vaginas — They are so tone-deaf that they miss their obvious hypocrisy.  Shouldn’t they use these same arguments against those insisting that we pay for their birth control and abortions?

The protesters carried signs saying such things as, “Read my lips. Leave my vagina alone,” and argued that pro-life Republicans are waging a war against women.

Boomerang.

So the Democrats are going to run with the “Akin’s gaffe applies to all Republicans even though almost 100% have denounced it” theme at their convention and they are going to trot out Bill Clinton to speak there and in swing states?  Please feel free to remind people of the following:

  • A President who abused his power to have sex with an intern doesn’t make the best pro-women role model — especially when he was in the process of completely destroying her before he found out about the dress.
  • Just because he was President in the 90’s doesn’t mean he gets credit for everything good that happened then.  Remember that two of his better moves — welfare reform and NAFTA — were more Conservative than Liberal and that the Republican Congress stopped him from doing a lot damage with healthcare reform and more.  He should send New Gingrich a thank-you note every year.  Oh, and there was that little thing called the PC Revolution / Internet Bubble that did marvelous things for the economy in general and tax revenues in particular.  Clinton got the bubble and Bush got the damage when it burst.  But I don’t recall Bush blaming Clinton.
  • If Democrats really care about rape, then they should whale on people like Whoopi  Goldberg who said basically the same thing as Akin, and they should really pounce on people like accused rapist Bill Clinton.
  • Clinton was (is?) a serial adulterer.  Tell me again how that is pro-women?
  • Even Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill was on record saying that, “I don’t want my daughter near him.
  • Democrats love abortion so much that they will ignore all the horrible things Clinton means for women as long as he lets them kill their unborn children.
  • If Obama is so pro-“equal pay,” why are women underpaid in his White House?
  • If the Democrats are so pro-women, why don’t they oppose gender-selection abortions, nearly all of which crush and dismember females for the sole reason that they are unwanted for being female?  It is the ultimate misogyny, fully supported by the Left.
  • Remind them of Al Franken’s jokes about raping reporter Leslie Stahl.
  • Remind them that unemployment has been worse for women and blacks under the Obama administration.
  • If they really care about rape, then ask them why they don’t protest Planned Parenthood for systematically hiding statutory rape and sex trafficking.  The audio and video evidence against them is overwhelming.  Start by asking them, “Are all rapes pretty much equally bad, as Akin’s critics have noted?  OK, so let’s talk about Planned Parenthood . . .”
  • Also, ask them how it qualifies as pro-women to cheer at the funding losses of the Komen Foundation just because they dared to cut a tiny fraction of Planned Parenthood’s funding.
  • Pretty much anything you can mention about Ted Kennedy should be effective as well.

Don’t let the Left get away with whitewashing Clinton and their anti-women policies.  Make their claims boomerang on them just like the silly dog issue (yeah, Romney had his on the roof of his car, but Obama ate a dog).  And then there’s the latest “Oh, the humanity” reaction that Romney made a birth certificate quip.  Somehow that is unacceptable, unlike accusing your opponent of being a cancer-causing felon and abandoning tradition to make waves during his convention.

The war on women – yet pandering to Islam.

Great message about why we shouldn’t modify worship services to meet the alleged desires of the unsaved.

God was exposing a lie that had held us captive for years.  He was proving that his Word is fully sufficient, and that true converts thirst for it like a desert thirsts for rain.  Many who had grown up in the faith had hearts that were calloused toward the Truth.  Years of comfortable church had led them to hear the Word but excuse themselves from practicing it, steadily becoming self-deceived.  They projected this hard-heartedness onto newcomers, like the kids in the old Life Cereal commercials:  “Try teaching that to Mikey the Seeker – he HATES everything… Heyyyy…  Mikey LIKES it!”  Unfortunately, some never noticed or accepted that new believers were craving pure spiritual milk and even graduating to meat ahead of them.

The Sunday School class at the church we joined last year spent 3 years going verse by verse through 1 Peter.  A recipe for boredom and a shrinking class, right?  Hardly.  It grew like crazy, attracting high school kids (including my daughters) up to retired people.  Real believers want real Bible teaching.  You can tell how much confidence people have in the word of God and its power by how they treat it in sermons and lessons.

The one-size-fits-all response to Obama and his supporters when they complain about the Republican House preventing them from doing something: “You had two years of a Congress with sizable Democratic majorities, plus the momentum from your election win.  If raising taxes [or whatever else they are complaining about] was so important, why didn’t you do it then?”

Atheist Jerry Coyne was so quick to dismiss the fact that Darwinian philosophy was at the root of the Columbine shootings that he said this in light of the latest events in Colorado.

Of course there was no evidence at all that Darwinism or evolution had motivated the shooters. They were disaffected and troubled boys who, thanks to America’s lax gun laws, were able to acquire an arsenal of firearms.

But as the facts show, Coyne was completely wrong.  But he is totally accurate on all of his science and never lets his ideology get in the way, right?

It was amusing to read the anti-gun rhetoric of his followers.  The survival-of-the-fittest types can’t go three sentences without contradicting themselves.

Does it bother any of Obama’s supporters that he has an enemies list and that at least one person on it is now under audit from the IRS and the Labor Department?

Did the mainstream media tell you about the woman killed during an abortion at Planned Parenthood, along with her child?  “Safe and legal” only applies to the leaders of PP and their protection from accountability for countless acts of hiding statutory rape.

—–

I’ve yet to find one of the anti-gun politicians or false teachers who isn’t pro-legalized abortion.  And I’m pretty sure they are all pro-taxpayer-funded abortion, meaning that they think our country would be better if only more unwanted human beings were destroyed in the womb.

My question for them: Would they switch to opposing abortion if the “doctors” used guns instead of knives?

The #1 thing to remember in the gun control debate: Criminals don’t obey gun control laws.

Methodists in Northeast Approve Pro-Gay Resolution — The Methodist Church in the U.S. is doomed. The non-Christians outnumber the Christians in this conference. Worse yet, even in a conservative area like the Texas Conference the non-Christians are able to keep Bible-believing and Book of Disciple-following pastors from becoming Bishop — and solely because they hold a biblical view of homosexuality.

While I’d love to blame the non-Christians in the denomination for this, it is really the fault of the squishy Bible-believing leaders and members who didn’t have the faith and courage to exercise church discipline and remove false teachers. Appeasement is deadly, not loving.  Sadly, some Bible-believers have learned that the hard way.  Appeasing doesn’t increase your odds of getting promoted, it just makes it 100% likely that you’ve sacrificed your principles and stopped preaching the whole counsel of God.

Leonard Pitts is a racist.  He thinks blacks and Hispanics are too helpless to obtain voter ID, even though they must provide identification for countless other daily activities.  And my guess is that he is pro-legalized abortion, which currently kills blacks at a rate 3x that of whites and Hispanics at a rate 2x that of whites. And those rates will increase as the Liberal dream of taxpayer-funded abortions increases.  Seems kinda racist to me.

False teacher, false dichotomy

False teacher Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie  took a break from taking little girls to gay pride parades to offer a common but fallacious false dichotomy about Health Care vs. Bullets.  He probably uses the same bad logic on education vs. bullets, taxpayer-funded abortion vs. bullets, etc.

GOP leaders in Congress – hoping the U.S. Supreme Court will strike down Obamacare – are looking to reroute funding for health care to military budgets.

Well, duh.  The bill was obviously un-Constitutional.  Anyone who can read knows that.  The only question is whether the judges will have any integrity.

And here’s what is Constitutional: Defending the country — with bullets!  Pacifism is a moral evil.  It is a noble and Christian thing to protect people.  Strong national defense saves lives and prevents wars.  We won the Cold War that way.

It’s a move people of faith must resist.

There’s the predictable “people of faith,” where Chuck dives into being unequally yoked with non-believers (oh, wait, he’s a non-believer himself . . . this gets so complicated!).

Politico reports: If the Supreme Court strikes down the health care reform law, that loss for President Barack Obama could be a win for the Pentagon.

That’s because Congress could find itself flush, thanks to billions of dollars that were allocated to fund “Obamacare” that won’t be spent if parts of the law are knocked down. . . .

Oh, so this is just a hypothetical.  Hey, here’s an idea.  Maybe if we didn’t spend the money at all and just borrowed less for future generations to repay?

The funny thing is that Chuck forgot to pretend that Obamacare saves money.  Oops!  Now, we all knew it would cost hundreds of billions, but Chuck used to spout that talking point that it would save $$ — just another tangled web for him.

For Christians, the responsibility on how to respond is clear.  We need to continue to work towards a health care system that covers every American.  It is our moral obligation.

1. He’s not a Christian.  He denies the essentials.

2. That’s odd for a pro-abortionist who takes little girls to gay pride parades to prattle on about moral obligations.

Robbing people of their health care to expand military budgets is contrary to the values of our faith.

Eek!  Robbing!  That sounds bad.  Oh, wait, the truth is that no one is robbing anyone of anything.  Chuck, like most Liberals, doesn’t understand positive and negative rights. No one has a “right” to healthcare.  And the military budget angle was pure speculations.

And what “values” are those?  More taxpayer-funded abortions, where you truly rob people of their funds to kill innocent but unwanted human beings?

Remember, no system is perfect.  Even if the lie about our system killing 46,000 people per year was true, we’re still 10 times better than England.

False teacher.  False hypothesis.  False dichotomy.

Oops!

Sometimes I say too much and forget that the best strategy is often to sit back and watch your ideological enemies self-destruct.  Therefore, I take back my criticisms of Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie and his People Of Faith Support President On Contraception Fight Despite Lawsuit post.

Chuck clearly has a well thought out, rational idea. Keep the “war on women” meme going, because it definitely isn’t another one of Obama’s boomerangs.  It certainly isn’t condescending to women — especially religious women — to tell them that they must rely on the government for everything and that it is OK to trample religious freedoms to ensure that all women — and not just 90%+ — have “free” birth control.  After all, Chuck & Co. know that not only is it impossible for women to be self-sufficient, but that they aren’t even capable of buying birth control!

So preach on, Chuck!

Via Video: House Republican women make their case « Hot Air.

That’s what makes the Democrats’ message to American women so strange and unsettling. For the past few months, the Democrats have been accusing Republicans of waging a “war on women” as if some honest disagreements between the parties — over matters like how an “Obamacare” mandate should affect religious institutions or the proper scope of federal law on tribal land — constitute a deliberate GOP campaign to take away women’s rights.

Nothing could be further from the truth, and Republican women have been at the forefront exposing these myths. Let’s face it: Republican women — like us — would never be part of a party that didn’t believe in women’s rights, equal pay for equal work and strong laws against sexual violence. The Republican Party believes in all of those things.

We also believe in something else: We believe that women want to be empowered. We believe that women want independence. We want opportunities. We want an equal chance to succeed — no special favors and no glass ceilings. We want our daughters to have those same opportunities, that same chance to live the American dream. We want our sons to have it, too.

What policies promote freedom, opportunity and self-ownership? Certainly not the Democrats’ Big Government policies. The Democrats showed their hand recently with their “Life of Julia” infographic. The Obama campaign used this to illustrate how a typical woman is dependent on government programs from birth to death — and how the GOP is supposedly undermining those programs.

False teacher hypocrisy on morality

The false teachers are out in force feigning moral concerns over the budget.  See Why Are Religious Leaders Opposing GOP Budget?

They think it is compelling to just note that if you take a lot of money from the wealthy — who already pay the vast majority of taxes — that you could spend it on others.  No kidding!  The question is whether it is moral, let alone logical, to take other people’s money to fund your “charity.”

Keep in mind that these fakes are almost all pro-abortion, yet they are going to wag their fingers at you about morality.

Oh, and they use the generic “people of faith” as if it is a monolith, and as if Christians should be unequally yoked with false religions.

Voter ID laws: Still not racist

If someone claims that voter ID laws are racist, you can be pretty sure they are on the side of the cheaters.  It was interesting seeing the comments from people in Europe and Canada at this post who were just as mystified as I am that anyone could possibly complain about it.  What could be a more obvious requirement than having to prove who you are when voting?

And as another commenter noted, our government wants you to prove you have insurance but not that you are a citizen.

The “Republicans are against birth control” meme is as choreographed as any ballet

And the Democrats and the mainstream media are the choreographers. It is a pathetic ploy to shift attention from the disastrous state of the economy. Should we worry about our insanely high debt levels or whether people with jobs have to pay $10 per month for birth control?

They realize that people on average, and especially the youth, are increasingly pro-life but still want people to have access to birth control. You might be thinking, “So what? Who opposes access to birth control?” Even the Catholics aren’t trying to make it illegal.

Do we oppose funding of Planned Parenthood? Of course! But not because they give away condoms. We do it because they are the largest destroyer of innocent but unwanted human beings in the country, they hide statutory rape and sex trafficking, they aggressively promote the sexualization of children and much, much more.

But that doesn’t mean we want there to be less access to birth control. If PP quit receiving tax funding then Liberals would be welcome to give to them directly, just as they are today. Hey, for $480 you can donate to a Kenyan charity that will give food, clothes and education to four children for a year or you can help PP give a free abortion to kill a child here. Your choice!

Read this and the first link above. Note how people like Stephanopoulos seem to be early adopters of the weird script they’ve been given. Don’t be fooled by the ploy by the Left, and be sure to point out these facts to others. The Leftists won’t be persuaded, but that doesn’t matter. They are voting for Obama no matter what. It is all about the independents.

I wrote last week about a theory put forth by Washington Post’s Sarah Kliff that abortion proponents were shifting strategies to focus on contraceptives rather than abortion, the reason being their own polls show abortion is no longer a winning issue with young people and women, but contraception is.

This week Republican strategist Dick Morris pitched the same theory onHannity, adding some corroboration:
Morris:Obama did not make a mistake in this mandate. It’s a deliberately calculated move on his part. The Democrats realize that abortion is no longer a winner for them. It used to be ten points more pro-choice than pro-Life, now it’s ten points more pro-Life than pro-choice possibly because of the publicity of the anti-abortion people, possibly because of the aging of the population. But the point is that it’s a loser issue.

So what they’re trying to do now is replace it with contraception. So the first piece of evidence was after Santorum won Iowa, the first controversy was, “Do you think states should have the right to ban contraception?” Where did that come from?

Morris: Then you remember that ABC debate with that paid Democratic hitmanGeorge Stephanopoulos went after Romney trying to… pin him down on, on contraception? And Romney kept saying, “George, nobody wants to make contraception.” “No, but do they have the theoretical power to do it?” Remember, it was five minutes, people were laughing at him, booing him. Well that…

Hannity:You think he was doing this under direct orders?

Morris:Under orders. And I think, and now he comes out with this thing on contraception. They want to create the idea, and it’s no coincidence, that he came out with it after Minnesota and Colorado which was Santorum’s victories. They want to create the impression that the Republicans will ban contraception, which is totally insane, but they’re floating it out and they’re bringing it out there. And this move on Obama’s part was part of injecting that issue.

The good news about this is that it shows how desperate they are.

If the media hadn’t died in 2008 . . .

. . . and weren’t so hopelessly biased, perhaps they would be asking Obama some different questions.  Don’t miss all of 15 Questions The Mainstream Media Would Ask Barack Obama If He Were A Republican. (Hat tip: Glenn)

I would add to this list: “How can your supporters call pro-lifers “zealots” when you were the lone voice against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act?  Aren’t you zealous, even for a pro-legalized abortionist, to fight for the right to kill infants who survived abortions?  And isn’t it zealous of you to fight for taxpayer-funded abortions that will make abortions far less rare and force pro-lifers to pay for them?”

During the practically endless series of Republican debates, we have heard almost every question imaginable asked to Republican candidates – if by every question imaginable, you mean horribly slanted, often irrelevant questions designed to make them look bad and help Obama. We’ve heard questions about contraceptives, religion, Newt’s angry ex-wife, Gardasil, etc., etc., etc. So, what would happen if the mainstream media treated Barack Obama the exact same way that they treat Republicans? The questions might sound a little something like this.

1) Numerous Mexican citizens and an American citizen have been killed with weapons knowingly provided to criminals by our own government during Operation Fast and Furious. If Eric Holder was aware that was going on, do you think he should step down as Attorney General? Were you aware that was going on and if so, shouldn’t you resign?

2) In 2010 you said Solyndra, which gave your campaign a lot of money, was “leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future.” Today, Solyndra is bankrupt and the taxpayers lost $500 million on loans that your administration was well aware might never be paid off when you made them. What do you say to people who say this is evidence of corruption in your administration?

3) Unions invested a lot of time and money in helping to get you elected. In return, they gained majority control of Chrysler, the taxpayers lost 14 billion dollars on General Motors, and General Motors received a special 45 billion dollar tax break. What do you say to people who view this as corruption on a scale never before seen in American history?

4) Through dubious means, you and your allies in Congress managed to push through an incredibly unpopular health care bill that helped lead to the worst election night for the Democratic Party in 50 years. Since the bill has passed, many of your claims about the bill have proven to be untrue. For example, we now know the bill won’t lower costs and despite your assurances to the contrary, big companies like McDonald’s say they may drop health care because of the health care reform. Since the American people have rejected your health care reform and it doesn’t do what you said it would, shouldn’t you work with the Republicans to repeal it?

. . .

15) Members of your administration promised that the trillion dollar stimulus would keep unemployment under 8 percent. Instead, we’ve had 35+ months of 8% and above unemployment. Doesn’t that mean we wasted a trillion dollars on nothing?

Hypocrisy: He’s doin’ it right

In a head-scratching example of hypocrisy that is over the top even for him, politics-disguised-as-religion-race-baiting Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie had the audacity to criticize authentic Christians for exercising their 1st Amendment rights of free speech.  I can’t imagine how even Chuck would think that organized citizens could be guilty of violating the Constitution in this way.

Chuck, of course, is the guy who spits out Democratic talking points and does whole sermons on why illegal immigration should be legal and why the Occupy movement is Christ-like.  Uh, right.

Bonus hypocrisy: I haven’t seen Chuck express concern that the President — an alleged Constitutional scholar — redefined “recess” to appoint his union donor / cronies.

In the United States there are suppose to be no religious tests to hold public office.  That’s right there in the Constitution (a document conservatives claim to love).  But religious conservatives seem to be doing all in their considerable power to decide who the GOP nominee for president will be.  In short, they trying to imposing a religious test on the presidency.  . . .  Otherwise, why are officials of the Southern Baptist Convention like Richard Land weighing in on the GOP nomination process?  We cannot afford to allow our democracy to devolve into a theocracy.  Religious liberty is at stake in 2012.
