Will Leftists apologize to Sarah Palin?

That’s rhetorical, of course.  They could never forgive a woman for being pro-life and for not killing her Down Syndrome child.

But they should apologize, for many reasons.  She was prophetic about both Iraq and Ukraine.  Via Sarah Palin: Prophet:

Yesterday, you recall, we saw a stake finally driven through the crotch of the Bush Lied meme that the left used to try to defeat Bush electorally in 2004. There were, in fact, chemical weapons in Iraq and as my friend, Jim Lacey, writes in National Review, virtually every other allegation about Iraq’s weapons was actually substantiated by the invasion.

On October 21, 2008, GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin gave a speech in Reno, NV.

The key quote (at least for my purposes):

He wants to pull out, leaving some 25 million Iraqis at the mercy of an Iranian-supported Shiite extremist groups and al Qaeda in Iraq. By his own admission, this could mean our troops would have to go back to Iraq. That’s crisis scenario number three. And then, after the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Sen. Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence — the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next.

The foreign policy boffins harumphed. Who was this know-nothing? A typical sample is from Foreign Policy editor Blake Hounshell (@blakehounshell):

As we’ve said before, this is an extremely far-fetched scenario. And given how Russia has been able to unsettle Ukraine’s pro-Western governmentwithout firing a shot, I don’t see why violence would be necessary to bring Kiev to heel. Watch the upcoming parliamentary elections in December to see if Moscow gets the pliable new government it wants.

Needless to say, she was dead on target about both Ukraine and Iraq.

Ten minutes to prove the devastating impact of media bias

Voters aren’t just uninformed about key issues and people, they are deliberately misinformed by the media to ignore faults of Democratic candidates and even to attribute them to Republicans.  And they are well-informed about irrelevant issues and false attacks.

When you start watching this video you might just get the impression that it is mocking ignorant people and that both sides could do that (although Snoop Dogg sure is a winsome and compelling representative of all things Obama).  But keep watching and you’ll find out there is much more to this proof of media bias and how it is helping destroy the country.

Finding people who don’t know about Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, who controlled Congress at the time, etc. would be like shooting fish in a barrel.  But it wasn’t just that they were extremely uninformed on important players and issues.  Consider the following:

  • They were extremely well-informed on less important issues such as which candidate had the daughter with an out-of-wedlock child and whose political party paid $150,000 for her clothes.
  • They were extremely misinformed on many things about Palin and McCain, such as what Palin really said about Russia. Why? Because as part of the Leftist Media’s literal 18-to-1 negative to positive stories on Palin the Big 3 networks all repeated a Saturday Night Live skit that mocked Palin by distorting the truth.
  • They were extremely uninformed about negatives about the Democratic candidates, so much so that they assumed the negatives were about Palin or McCain.  They assumed that Palin made the “57 states” comment that Obama made (though ironically they realized how idiotic the statement was).  They didn’t know Obama got his opponents kicked off his ballot but assumed it was Palin or McCain.  They didn’t even know Biden quit a presidential campaign for plagiarizing a speech.  What could have been more relevant?  They didn’t know that Obama claimed that he would deliberately bankrupt the coal industry.  They had never heard of Bill Ayers.  And so on.

More here.

Zogby Poll

512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points

97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College Graduates

Results to 12 simple Multiple Choice Questions

57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)

81.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)

82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)

88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)

56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).

And yet…..

Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes

Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter

And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her “house,” even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!

Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.

Here’s the 2012 version: Most voters don’t know how wildly successful Romney has been in business, in running the Olympics, how generous he has been, etc.

If you only consume the Liberal media then I can guarantee you that you are ill-informed.  Don’t be a tool.

UK midwives protest ruling forcing them to perform abortions — this is getting more and more common.  Religious freedom: You’re doin’ it wrong.  The Obama administration is forcing religious organizations to pay for birth control, some of which are abortifacients.  This is unconscionable.  At least the Supreme Court got one thing right as far as the hiring practices of religious groups.

A summary of Dr. Laura’s Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands — this is just the intro — be sure to read the entire post.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger has written another book that deserves a place on the best seller list with six of her other books, such as Ten Stupid Things Women Do to Mess Up Their Lives and Ten Stupid Things Men Do to Mess Up Their Lives. The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands, from this unmarried man’s perspective, is an excellent manual for women on how to get want they want from men and marriage and, generally, how to be happy. Dr. Laura makes a number of important, practical points, based on her experience in private practice, from advising her radio callers, and from literally hundreds of letters and emails she received from men and women while she was writing the book.

Barack Obama fought the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, which protected infants who survived abortions from being murdered, but the media calls Rick Santorum the extremist?!

Peer-reviewed paper in medical journal challenges Darwinian evolution — Wait, that can’t be right!  Everyone knows that there is no such thing as that.

A new article by Dr. Joseph Kuhn of the Department of Surgery at Baylor University Medical Center, appearing in the peer-reviewed journal Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings, poses a number of challenges to both chemical and biological evolution. Titled “Dissecting Darwinism,” the paper begins by recounting some of the arguments raised during the Texas State Board of Education debate that challenged chemical and biological evolution. Those challenges include:

1. Limitations of the chemical origin of life data to explain the origin of DNA
2. Limitations of mutation and natural selection theories to address the irreducible complexity of the cell
3. Limitations of transitional species data to account for the multitude of changes involved in the transition.

Why do people hate Tim Tebow? Why do people want Tim Tebow to fail? — It is interesting watching the haters get so riled up about Tim Tebow.  Why wouldn’t feminists want a guy like Tebow, who would be faithful to them, have their long-term best interests at heart, not want to take away their purity, not risk them having to get a disease, an abortion or to be a single parent?  One pro-abortion group tried to raise funds by asking people to donate money for each touchdown pass Tebow makes, so they could somehow profit from his success.  He is similar to Sarah Palin in that his life and story mock the pro-abortion theme that we need to kill the unborn if they aren’t perfect or wanted.

Your tax dollars at work: The administration of the most pro-abortion President ever thought that taxpayer-funded abortions in the U.S. weren’t enough.  They needed to increase abortions in Kenya as well and hired surrogates to spread their message.  It stills sickens me to hear alleged pro-lifers rationalize their vote for Obama.

Stan does his usual excellent work in examining this comment by William Lane Craig:

The counterfactuals of creaturely freedom which confront Him are outside His control. [God] has to play with the hand He has been dealt. — William Lane Craig

Craig is really good but isn’t perfect.  That was a truly odd comment of him to make, but when you peel back the layers it is actually consistent with his worldview.  Whether it is Arminianism or Molinism, they leave the final say to humans on many issues.

MLK, Jr believed homosexuals could –and should– change — Oh noes — what will the fake Christians do with that fact? Oh, they’ll just say he would have changed his mind, just like Jesse went from pro-life to pro-abortion.

The “theocracy” charge leveled at Republicans is just silly.

My observation is that the GOP field is more concerned with the social conservative determination to use government to deny equality to gays and lesbians and pregnancy choice rights to women.

However, neither of those issues threatens the economy or the republic.

I think the Left is correct in asserting that the social conservative agenda is identical to a promise to impose theocracy.

Cynthia YockeyA Conservative Lesbian, September 3  (Hat tip for the quote: Jill Stanek)

Did you ever notice how China, the former Soviet Union and other communist countries with explicitly atheistic views all recognize(d) the timeless truth that marriage, by definition, is a union of one man and one woman?  Implying that those who oppose government recognition of same-sex unions are trying to establish theocracies is ridiculous –unless you are claiming that atheistic, Christian-hating communists qualify as religious-right Christian extremists.

And are the anti-theocracy folks speaking out against Islam and Sharia law?  The evidence is there in Europe and even in some areas in the U.S.

Also, we don’t oppose “pregnancy choice.”  People have the right to birth control.  What we oppose is crushing and dismembering innocent human beings after pregnancy occurs.  Big difference.

20 Scripture-twisting techniques — A great list of what not to do when reading the Bible.

Rick Perry is right.  As I’ve noted many times, Social Security is a Ponzi scheme.  Here are 5 definitions of Ponzi schemes that accurately describe it.  A sample:

Finally, I think this one from the American Bar Association is my favorite:

A Ponzi scheme is a type of securities fraud where the promoter makes some sort of false or misleading statement about an investment (often including a guaranteed high rate of return) and pays off older investors with newer investor’s monies. Eventually, when the promoter can’t find any new investors, the scheme collapses.

Here’s a keeper for the next time Obama & Co. want to preach about civility.  The hypocrisy is astounding.  You’d think after their vicious, carefully choreographed blaming of Sarah Palin after the Arizona shootings that they’d at least pretend to follow their own advice for a while.

While Obama pretends that he’s interested in “respectful” political discourse we’ve seen a parade of Democrats indulging every manner of disrespectful political speech against Tea Partiers and Republicans. Just in the last few weeks we’ve the following:

  • Vice President Biden saying that Republicans and Tea Partiers are “barbarians.”
  • Teamsters President Hoffa Says Republicans are “sons a bitches” that should be “taken out.”
  • Democrat Andre Carson Says Tea Partiers and Republicans want to start “lynching African Americans.”
  • Democrat Maxine Waters says Tea Partiers can “go straight to hell.”
  • Vice President Biden calls conservatives “terrorists.”

Stan on biblical slavery — an important read:

It is important to note, as I have multiple times, that biblical slavery is not the same thing as modern slavery. Consider this. Modern slavery has basically been 1) involuntary 2) for the economic advantage of the elite, 3) typically included mistreatment, 4) where slaves lived separately from their owners, 5) were considered property (and could be disposed of as with any property), 6) could not own property, and 7) were slaves forever.

Old Testament slavery was different. It was 1) normally voluntary 2) for the purpose of solving a debt problem 3) with strict rules against mistreatment. Typically, 4) slaves lived in the homes of their masters, 5) were not property, 6) could own property and, in fact were given property when released, and 7) were only in the position temporarily. Old Testament slavery wasn’t very much at all like the modern version.

Good question by Hillbuzz:

POLL: What term is more effective in describing the gay members of the Left’s goon squad: Gaystapo or GayGB?  Those are both so good.  It is a coin flip for me.  I think the tags apply to anyone on the Left who advances the radical LGBTQ agenda.

This week’s “Why isn’t this a hot news item with the mainstream  media?” entry: New study finds that choice to abort nearly doubles the risk of mental illness — Hey, what happened to the “safe” mantra?

Unions kill jobs.  Lots of them.

Good reasons to use the ESV translation.  I really like it.

Mega-roundup

I’ve been trying to do more individual posts instead of roundups, but there has been a lot of craziness lately.  Here goes.

A great response to Bill Keller of the NY Times — He may be intelligent but he isn’t wise.  His analysis was horrible.  He also tips his hand in conceding the phony religiosity of people like Obama and Clinton.  After all, they claim the name of Christ as well.  But the Left doesn’t think they are really Christians so they don’t get upset about it.  But when Perry and Bachmann appear to really believe, then Keller and the other bigots freak out.

I’m all for breast cancer research, but here’s why I don’t donate to the Susan Komen Foundation: Komen 2010 donation to Planned Parenthood hits $569,000

When asked, Komen states that gifts to Planned Parenthood are justified because PP does mammograms. The black eye got even darker when it was revealed that PP actually does not do mammograms, but routine breast exams that a woman can do on herself.

The biggest problem with the PP donation is that a legitimate abortion-breast cancer link has been documented in studies. So, Komen gives funds raised to cure breast cancer to an organization that is increasing breast cancer risk as the nation’s largest abortion provider.

Hey Komen organization:  Call me when you stop supporting an organization that kills babies for a living.

Is the mainstream press addressing how Gibson Guitars, owned by a Republican contributor, was raided by the Department of Justice on a petty charge while its competitor, owned by a Democratic contributor, was not?   Do Liberals care about what might be a massive abuse of power?

Are you smarter than Rick Perry?  Here’s a test for the oh-so-smart class: Do you think there is a Social Security “trust fund” or “lockbox” where the contributions to date are stored?  If so, then Rick Perry is a lot smarter than you.  He knows that Social Security is a Ponzi scheme.  Anyone who tells you otherwise is ignorant or lying to you.  From the video at the link:

We need to have a conversation with America, just like we’re having right here today. And admit that it is a Ponzi scheme for these young people. The idea that they’re working and paying into Social Security today, that under the current program is going to be there for them, is a lie. It is a monstrous lie on this generation and we can’t do that to them

Perry also said he stood for the rights of non-believers.

Also see Perry on Obama: How “smart” do you have to be to let the economy get this bad? — This should be fun!  The DNC and its media and theologically liberal allies are going through the laundry list of memes about Rick Perry — religious nut, stupid, etc.  But if Obama & Co. are so brilliant why have they failed to achieve any of their economic commitments?

And if Obama is so smart, what were his college grades?  Oh, right, he won’t release them.

—–

Here’s a good response to the made-up “dominionist” charge against Bachmann and Perry.  The anti-religion bigots / haters seem to be test-marketing that meme.

Great analysis by Stan on the “God and sex-slaves” debate.

Homosexual students automatically eligible for scholarship: Elmhurst college — So how do they test for that?  Here’s a shocker: The college is associated with the apostate United Church of Christ.

In a recent statement, David Smith, executive director of the Illinois Family Institute, criticized the college’s comparison between sexual orientation and ethnic identity

“In defending their decision to include a question about ‘sexual orientation,’ by asserting an offensive and absurd comparison of race to a condition constituted by subjective desire and volitional sexual acts, Elmhurst College administrators reveal their own ignorance,” said Smith.
Elmhurst is affiliated with the liberal leaning United Church of Christ, which became the first denomination in the country with an openly gay minister when it ordained William Johnson in 1972.

Rep. Carson Accuses Tea Party Representatives in Congress of Wanting to Lynch Blacks — Subtle.  I think this is the guy who declared war on the Tea Party.  And we have Congresswoman Maxine Waters saying Tea Partiers should go to Hell.  Can’t you feel the love and tolerance?

So when race riots break out can we blame Carson and all the other race-baiters?  Shouldn’t the media be asking if the black-on-white flash mob attacks have been instigated by this inflammatory rhetoric?

Rep. Carson has a history of making unsupported accusations of racism at the Tea Party. You may recall that he is the Rep. who claimed to have been called the N-word “15 times” while passing through a group of Tea Party protesters on Capitol Hill. When video appeared that refuted part of his story (he wasn’t mobbed and received no police escort) he changed his story. No video supporting his N-word claim ever appeared.

If you ever wondered how coordinated the liberal media bias is, read about Journolist.  It is interesting how quickly these “independent” fact finding types all agree on the same meme, such as tying Sarah Palin to the Arizona shootings.  What is really interesting is how fake Christians like Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie immediately came out with the same Palin chatter — almost as if he was on the distribution list for the DNC talking points!  He was right on time and on script with the Perry bashing as well.

—–

Good overview of false teacher Benny Hinn.  He is so transparently fake that I barely feel sorry for those duped by him.

President Obama has Tour Buses Flown to Stump Speeches — Remember the taxpayer-funded campaign tour?  It is much worse than you thought.  He didn’t just blow $2m on buses made in Canada, he had them flown around just so he could appear to be riding in them.  Your tax dollars (not) at work!

Gay activist explains how same-sex marriage will change marriage — Hey, I thought they didn’t want to change it?!   Seriously, read the post and note how flippant they are about “non-monogamous same-sex marriage.”

How liars play the “hate group” card

False teacher Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie shows you how in GOP 2012 Field Looks To Tea Party For Inspiration.  It is a simple two-step process:

1. Find a group that labels as a “hate group” any organization that teaches the truth of the Bible, namely that homosexual behavior is a sin.

2. Refer to that organization as a “hate group” as if they were akin to the KKK.

It is just that easy!   And just that dishonest!

Also, it helps to be a hypocrite like Chuck who criticizes Rick Perry for — eek! — hosting a prayer conference as an alleged “separation” issue.  See Hypocrisy: Houston Prayers Violate Church & State but Jim Wallis at the White House Does Not? and ask why Chuck didn’t have a problem with this:

In contrast, the Religious Left has applauded Sojourners chief Jim Wallis’ “Circle of Protection,” a Christians-only coalition that met with President Obama to defend welfare programs from Republican budget cutters. Supposedly the prayer summit, according to liberal critics like Americans United for Separation of Church and State, was “exclusive” and theocratic. But the White House summit, despite its specific political and partisan goal, was widely lauded.

Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis is as fake as Chuck, taking big $$ from atheist George Soros.  The National Council of (apostate) Churches also takes secular Leftist funds.  Somehow Chuck & Co. never point that out.

The faux-reverend Chuck is also a good little political hack, spouting all the talking points of the Left –“Tea Party downgrade” (because the problem definitely isn’t spending 70% more than we take in!), “extremist,” “increasing taxes” (aka coveting the wealth of others), “Religious right” (double eek!), etc.  He ghoulishly blamed Sarah Palin for allegedly violent speech before the Arizona bodies were cold yet has been not-so-strangely silent on the “Tea Partiers are terrorists” comments from Biden et al.  What a hypocrite.

I’m glad to see the new group CASE (Christians for A Sustainable Economy), which will help real Christians protect the poor from the likes of Currie, Obama, etc. who prefer to keep them enslaved.

Gaffe vs. “gaffe” and media bias

If you only consume the mainstream media then you are ignorant by choice.

I realize that pointing out liberal media bias is in the shooting-fish-in-a-barrel category, but this example is so timely and obvious that I wanted to highlight it.  Just like they had to destroy Sarah Palin (and sadly, it looks like this is an example of them succeeding), they are now going after Michele Bachmann.  Nothing sets the allegedly feminist liberals on edge like a pro-life, Christian woman.

Ignoring the fact that they have already researched her background more than they ever did Obama’s (again, the same as with Palin), we have this example of an alleged but insignificant gaffe by Bachmann (a slight misstatement about the birthplace of John Wayne) versus a real and more serious gaffe by Obama.  Guess which got the vast majority of media coverage?

Via Lessons in Media Bias for Jon Stewart | Verum Serum.

Now compare the treatment of Bachmann to the press’ handling of another gaffe just a few days earlier.

Four days before Bachmann’s gaffe the President of the United states told a group of soldiers that he’d given a Medal Honor award to one of their members while he was still alive. Only the man the President named got the Medal posthumously and the man who received it while still alive was not part of that division. Oops!

It’s a similar mistake to the one Bachmann supposedly made, i.e. confusing two people with similar heroism rather than similar names. So how many news outlets reported the Obama gaffe? Going again to Google News, we see the answer is eleven. Granted there are hundreds more articles listed in this search, but most of those came after Obama admitted the gaffe and apologized for it. The media was not at all eager to jump on this gaffe. And even if you include all of the stories, it’s still a 4:1 spread in favor of Bachmann (if by “in favor” you mean against her).

So when Bachmann makes a mistake about a long deceased actor’s birthplace, the media makes up a story about what they think she meant and runs with it even after she denies it. When Obama makes an undeniably embarrassing gaffe about someone he’s actually met in the past year, the media ignores it and only lightly touches on it after he’s had time to apologize.

Oh, and have you heard about how Obama misstated the age of his daughter?  I’d give him a pass on that (I accidentally called one of the dogs by my youngest daughter’s name once or twice!), but that isn’t the issue.  The issue is how the Leftist media treats these things.  If it were Bachmann or Palin you’d hear about it for years (i.e., Quayle’s “potatoe”).  But with Obama it is quickly forgotten.

Again, if you only consume the mainstream media then you are ignorant by choice.

Man, are they stupid. Here’s more proof.

Can you believe that anyone takes Sarah Palin or Michele Bachmann seriously?

Oops, I meant Obama and Biden.

The problem isn’t Obama, it is media bias.  Did you see those clips played endlessly on the news or on SNL?  This video should be required viewing to be able to vote.  It exposes the viciousness and bias of the Leftist mainstream media.  Don’t be suckers.  Broaden your media horizons and get informed.  Vote based on real experience, what kind of judges candidates would select, etc.  Don’t let the media put up strawmen about who is smart and who isn’t.

Hat tip: Hot Air

Michele Bachmann continues to impress

While the Left is content to just call her names (“right-wing loon” seems to be a favorite, and they seem to think of it as a robust rebuttal of her positions), Michele Bachmann is making strides.  See Michele Bachmann Sets A Very High Bar at Right Online (emphasis added).

The whole speech felt like it was only a few minutes. It was funny, fascinating, informative, and powerful. She set the bar very, very high for other candidates.

Her tax lawyer background showed in her speech, as did her faith. She used a dollar bill, folding it to show how Barack Obama’s policies have devalued it 14% and how the federal government borrows 42% of every dollar spent. She had the audience join her so they too can show others.

She hit Obama on something few Republicans ever do — unemployment in the Hispanic and black communities, noting how his policies have hurt the very groups he pledged to help. She focused as well on youth unemployment. Black youth in this country face 40% unemployment this summer and Hispanic youth face over 20%. Astonishing.

Bachmann brought the crowd to its feet multiple times. She pledged that she would not fight until Obamacare is repealed. She tackled medicare reform too. She pointed out that while the Democrats are scaring old people about Republican reforms, the Democrats took $500 billion from Medicare to fund healthcare for the young. She says the GOP needs to start pointing out that Barack Obama intends to bankrupt medicare and force senior citizens into Obamacare.

The speech really was dazzling and not because of the zingers and one liners. It was an extremely substantive speech about how Obama’s policies are hurting the country.

Speaking of real loons, check out this lady.  She plays the ridiculous canard that Bible-believing Christians are opposed to gays loving each other.  Hey, go right ahead, lady.  Just don’t throw glitter on people who don’t support your right to a square circle (oops, I mean “same-sex marriage”).
