If you want utopia, then repent, trust in Jesus, and hurry up and die. But don’t expect to find it in this life. While there are so many beautiful things about the world, it has been severely broken since Genesis chapter 3. So be charitable with yourself and others when it comes to mistakes. And while you don’t want to live as a pessimist, don’t be surprised that bad things happen. My wife was a school librarian, so we call big life changes plot twists in our house. If bad plot twists happen, make the best of them. If good plot twists happen, make the best of them as well. To extend the illustration, you may not control the plot twists, but you get to write how you respond to them.
