As I mentioned in We told you so, even while the GLBT lobby is on their best behavior pending the vote on Proposition 8, we see more and more examples of their supporters doing the opposite of what they claimed would happen: Aggressive indoctrination of youth as young as kindergarten.
During a celebration of National Ally Week, Tara Miller, a teacher at the Faith Ringgold School of Arts and Science in Hayward, Calif., passed out cards produced by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network to her class of kindergartners.
The cards asked signers to be “an ally” and to pledge to “not use anti-LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) language or slurs; intervene, when I feel I can, in situations where others are using anti-LGBT language or harassing other students and actively support safer schools efforts.”
More here.
Do 5 year olds really need to be thinking about homosexuals? About bi-sexuals? About transgenders? Kindergarteners can’t even understand those concepts. Their innocence should not be stolen with such filth.
It will only get worse. They’ve been holding back until after the vote on Proposition 8 is done. If it doesn’t pass, they’ll be much more aggressive. If you don’t believe me, ask yourself if you ever would have imagined kindergarteners being given such things? Did you expect to see first graders taken to a lesbian wedding on a field trip? Did you expect kindergarteners to have a “gay day” at school without parental notification?
If you are in California, vote Yes on 8!

Neil,
The battle over this issue is getting SO NASTY! Signs stolen from yards, cars damaged because they have a YES ON PROPOSITION 8 sticker on them. I could go on and on.
What bothers me the most, though, is the unashamed LYING from the “No on Prop 8” people! There is a commercial where a superintendent of schools claims that “marriage” isn’t taught in public schools! THAT is a bold faced LIE! It is written directly in the Education code! If gay “marriage” stays legal in CA, then it WILL be taught in schools! There is no doubt about it!
I have to search for it, but there is an entire curriculum drawn up already which will be used to further indoctrinate children. Plus, they want to change all the textbooks to include gay “history” in EVERY SUBJECT! After church today, I will look for the info and share it here.
Please keep the YES ON PROPOSITION 8 ballot measure in your prayers! We need God to move throughout CA to bring hearts more in line with what He designed for marriage – the union of one man and one woman!

Most 5 year olds cannot even read yet! Wow — this is much like the Obama camp registering mentally handicapped people and helping them vote Obama.
I’m so thankful we made it through the public school system in spite of it.
Kris has the right idea — shelter those kids from this asinine propaganda.

I had someone respond to my blog about the accusation that gay marriage will not be taught in our schools:
“I can attest to you that as a credentialed K-8 CA Public School Teacher with a Masters degree in teaching that should this proposition fail, gay marriage will most definately seep its way into the curriculum.
Of course you would not have been taught about gay marriage while you were in school because at that time it was not adopted as part of the State Framework and Standards. The CA State Education Standards are constantly being revised (the most recent adoption occuring in 2005) and I can assure you that it is only a matter of time before homosexual marriage will become a thread in the history-social-science curriculum.
Currently the Second grade history-social science standards include Standard 2.1, which is a lengthy, unit long study on the Family- Past, Present, and Future.
When MA legalized gay marriage why do you think students in the primary grades were read a book about two princes getting married? It is because it became part of the curriculum and thus the teachers were expected to teach to these curriculum standards. This being one way to do it- through the use of a fairy tale.”
How naive of the anti-Prop 8 side to think they can chart out all the repercussions that will occur from Prop 8 failing. Hopefully, Prop 8 will pass this Tuesday, and we won’t ever have to find out what they are.
Yes on 8, No on Hate.

Gays and lesbians can now get married here in CT. I had no idea that was even on the table.
