Roundup

Some good news from my former denomination: Talk Grows of Liberal Exodus from UMC.  Alternate title: “Non-Christians threaten to leave church.”  And people think this is a bad thing . . . why?  It would be the best thing to happen to the Methodists in 100 years.

Since last spring’s General Conference, there has been an unprecedented mushrooming of talk of liberal exodus from the United Methodist Church.  For all of the surrounding frustration, that landmark event in Tampa, Florida was an apparent turning point in the struggle for the soul of our global denomination.

Delegates affirmed the denomination’s official teaching that sex is “only” for marriage and that homosexual practice is “incompatible with Christian teaching” (¶161F of the Book of Discipline) by a significantly larger margin than the previous General Conference. For the first time, activists opposed to biblical teaching ultimately gave up on even contesting UMC policies aligning required behavior of clergy and denominational officials with this stand.

More good news: There’s hope for civilization:

You have to look outside the Beltway, of course, but occasionally there’s a glimmer.

Pat Wesner is a mother of four, with one grown, disabled son in her care and another serving in Afghanistan. On Tuesday, she stumbled on the perfect crime when $11,000 fell off a Brinks truck with no one around to see it.

But she returned the money, because it didn’t belong to her.  What a concept!

Now, meet 18-year-old Indiana man Jhaqueil Reagan, who walked 10 miles in the snow for a job interview at Dairy Queen to support his brothers and sisters, and was well rewarded for his efforts . . .

Liberal thinking hasn’t poisoned everyone!

The Magical Word “Women” – A great lesson in politics and how Republicans are stupid when dealing with the Democrats’ games.  The Dems just throw in a word like “women” then add all sorts of awful things to a bill then shame Republicans into voting for it.  How hard would it be to distribute talking points to all Republicans along these lines?

  • You don’t need Federal laws against spousal abuse (or any kind of abuse).  State and local government have those covered.
  • “It expands the definition of domestic violence to include causing “emotional distress” or using “unpleasant speech.”” – this makes it overly broad and open to all sorts of (ironically enough) abuse.
  • “It ostensibly nullifies the legal presumption of innocence until proven guilty.”
  • The bill also expands the law’s reach to give tribal Indian authorities jurisdiction over non-Indians accused of abusing Indian women.
  • “It would grant more visas to illegal immigrants who are victims of domestic abuse.”  So we are going to take on everyone in the planet who lodges an accusation of abuse?   And we’ll do this when we don’t even take people suffering from religious persecution?

Don’t let Leftists and fake Christians play out their equivalent of the shrill Helen Lovejoy “won’t someone please think of the children/women” falsehood.

Once again, see how non-Christians/non-Catholics/fake Christians think they have a say in the selection of the next Pope.

There is much that good people of faith can disagree with Pope Benedict on: his attacks on the rights of women and gays and lesbians, and the failures of the RCC under his leadership to deal with the child abuse scandal.

Translations:

  • “Attacks on the rights of women” = opposing the crushing and dismembering of innocent but unwanted human beings.  Oh, and nearly all gender-selection abortions kill females for the sole reason that they are female.  Still not sure how that qualifies as pro-women.  Shame on the “churches” who insist that it is a human right  to be able to kill babies.
  • “attacks on the rights of gays and lesbians” = believes what God says in the Bible and opposes oxymoronic “same-sex marriage.”
  • “child abuse scandal” – you mean the one perpetrated and covered up by the huge homosexual underground in the Church?  Yes, we oppose that, too.

Why Are We Not Talking About America’s $123 Trillion In Unfunded Liabilities? – another example of Republicans being stupid at politics.  It isn’t just the National Debt, it is the off-balance sheet liabilities that must be dealt before we destroy this great country.

US Unfunded Liabilities

Another sad story of how deadly political correctness can be.  Note that when they are discussing criminal acts, “Asian” = Muslim

For all the phony hype about bullying, here’s a real bullying story that doesn’t seem to be getting much traction in the media. I wonder why:

The devastated family of a nine-year-old boy who hanged himself say he took his life after racist taunts by Asian bullies.

Former top IVF doc: I was ‘absolutely horrified’ when I realized what I was doing – be very cautious when considering in vitro fertilization.

Caruso noted that such “objectification of children” is of a piece with the IVF mentality, where aborting inconvenient children is both routine and encouraged.

Breaking: Obama campaign caught in major NC vote fraud scheme – anyone surprised?

North Carolina’s Civitas Institute has revealed that the North Carolina State Board of Elections and the Obama campaign conspired to register at least 11,000 people via the internet in violation of state law. This has been confirmed through records requests filed with all of North Carolina’s 100 counties. The counting is not yet complete.

North Carolina does not allow online voting, but according to Civitas, SBE staff authorized an Obama campaign website, Gottaregister.com, to use a web-based registration program. The SBE’s chief lawyer responded to the charge with a plainly disingenuous 1984-newspeak answer:

Wright repeatedly denied that the SBE allowed online voter registration, insisting that it was “web-based voter registration” instead, as if there could be a “web-based” process that wasn’t online.

My biggest concern is that their successful voter fraud will, as with other criminals, embolden them to do larger and larger frauds.

Even more good news: How privatization turned the worst-performing NHS hospital around – Capitalism works.  Socialism and Communism do not.  History has spoken, but people are too ignorant of it and of basic human nature.

Pro-abortion = anti-Christian

False teacher Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie took a break from taking little girls to gay pride parades to do his best to increase the destruction of innocent human beings.  Via Pray For Kansas – And Faithful Choices:

In Kansas, where Dr. George Tiller was assassinated at his church by a “pro-life” advocate, a former colleague of his is trying to re-open his clinic.  People of faith should pray that Julie Burkhart is successful.  Women should have the right to make their own reproductive health care decisions.

It takes a real anti-science, anti-Christ person to make a statement like that. You don’t need a Phd in Embryology to know that it is a scientific fact (and basic common sense) that a new human being is created at fertilization.  Therefore, 100% of abortions kill innocent but unwanted human beings after they have been reproduced.  Therefore, the idea that abortion is a “reproductive health care decision” is false at its foundation.

And there is always Chuck’s nebulous “people of faith” term, whereby he violates scripture by denying that Jesus the only way to salvation and pretends that he and people of other religions pray to the real God.

Domestic terrorists should not have the final world.

The General Synod of the United Church of Christ has long maintained that:

Whereas, women and men must make decisions about unplanned or unwanted pregnancies that involve their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being;

That ignores the well-being of the babies Chuck sentences to death.

and …Whereas, abortion is a social justice issue,

Yes, it is a social justice issue.  Being crushed and dismembered because you are unwanted is the epitome of social injustice.  Yet all those peddling the false “social gospel” like Chuck and Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis are living examples of those Paul said are accursed (Galatians 1) because they are teaching a different Gospel.

both for parents dealing with pregnancy and parenting under highly stressed circumstances, as well as for our society as a whole; …

Uh, wouldn’t that justify child abuse as well?  The UCC pro-abortion rhetoric proves too much.

Therefore, be it resolved, that the Sixteenth General Synod:

affirms the sacredness of all life, and the need to protect and defend human life in particular;

Only Satan-inspired fakes could pretend to “protect and defend human life in particular” while advocating for unrestricted and taxpayer-funded abortions.

There are those that would like the public to believe that opposition to abortion is the only Christian position but the United Church of Christ is joined by the United Methodist Church, Episcopal Church USA, Presbyterian USA and other faithful Christian denominations in supporting choice.

Choice to do what?  To kill innocent but unwanted human beings.

The Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice is an interfaith organization many of our churches belong to.

In the end, we should all work toward to goal of reducing the number of abortions.

But why, if they don’t kill innocent but unwanted human beings?  And Chuck is lying again. He and the rest of the Democrats want to increase abortions by requiring taxpayers to fund them.  That makes Obama and anyone supporting the Democrat’s platform the extremists: ”

The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay. We oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.”

It is interesting that Chuck hasn’t commented on how one of his other late-term abortionist heroes killed another mother as well recently.  Looks like Chuck is part of the Liberal media cover-up.

I also don’t remember him commenting on the pro-lifer killed a few years ago by a pro-abort fueled by the hate speech of people like Chuck.

And Chuck loves the Southern Poverty Law Center hate group that inspired a man to try and kill people at the Family Research Council.  I don’t recall Chuck commenting on that one, either.

If you think Chuck Currie et al are Christians, you are part of the problem.

This is what a fake church looks like

Short version: Fake churches don’t preach on Jesus, they glorify flawed humans.  They invite sexually perverse politicians to their pulpits to “preach.”  There is some good news here, though.  With churches like this you have absolutely no excuse about knowing whether they are legitimate or not.  If you follow people and churches like this then you get what you deserve.  I sometimes feel sorry for those taken in by wolves in sheep’s clothing, but not for wolves like this guy who got too warm and took the sheep’s clothing off.  It is like they aren’t even pretending to be Christian any longer.

False teacher Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie took a break from taking little girls to gay pride parades to describe the upcoming “worship” services at the two denominations he serves (UCC and UMC).

The people of University Park Church and Sunnyside Church invite you to celebrate The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Sunday on January 20th at University Park United Methodist Church (worship begins at 9:30 am). Our special guest that morning will be new Oregon House Speaker Tina Kotek. A reception in Speaker Kotek’s honor will be held following the service where she will make brief remarks about her agenda in the Legislature and will answer questions.

The regular worship service at Sunnyside Church will not be held on January 20th so that members can worship at University Park Church.

Speaker Kotek “will be the first openly lesbian lawmaker to lead a state legislative chamber in the U.S.,” notes The Huffington Post.

Got that?  Combo “worship” service led by a lesbian politician.

“We consider this a great victory for the civil rights of all Oregonians,” says Rev. Currie. “As we celebrate the work of Dr. King and reflect on his unfinished agenda for equality of all, regardless of race or creed, along with his work to fight poverty and end war, it is right and proper to honor Speaker Kotek’s accomplishment.”

First, sexual preferences are not civil rights.

Second, as flawed as King was, I am not aware of him being pro-LGBTQ.   Seems like more than just poetic license to claim that he was on your side of this issue.  Currie was caught before claiming King was pro-abortion because he spoke favorably of Planned Parenthood, but Planned Parenthood was still anti-abortion at the time.  Just more revisionist history.  Seems to me that King might have been upset that abortions kill blacks at a rate 3x that of whites and that people like Currie and his denominations support the Democrats’ plan to take that even higher with taxpayer-funded abortions.

Tony Campolo still teaching falsehoods

Via Campolo Praises United Methodist Political Lobby – Institute on Religion & Democracy (IRD).

Commenting on homosexuality, Campolo said: “’Love the sinner and hate the sin.’ Kind of makes you puke, doesn’t it?…Love the sinner and hate your own sin.”

That’s a typical false argument.  The question being debated is whether it is a sin.  It is no more judgmental to say it is a sin than to say it isn’t.  We do hate our own sins.  We just aren’t going around saying that our sins aren’t sins, and that the church must change their definition of our sins or we’ll protest their conventions and split  denominations.

Keep in mind that it wasn’t like oxymoronic “same-sex marriage” was the norm in churches, other religions and atheistic countries for the past couple thousand years and then the mean old Bible-believers came along to spoil things.  The false teachers brought this up, not us.

He warned: “Just to discuss it drives people out of your churches into fundamental independent churches—perhaps independent of God.”

That’s ironic!  They are making a god in their own image and then judging independent churches of being without God?  Indeed.

Anyone claiming to be a “Red letter Christian” needs milk, not meat.  The original writings were all red letters in the sense that they turned out the way Jesus wanted them to.  Matthew’s account of Jesus is no more authoritative than Paul’s.

Read the entire link if you have the stomach for it.

False teachers cheer loss of religious freedom

You’d think that they would be able to think 15 minutes into the future and see that there might be a downside to them someday, but false teachers were rejoicing that the government is trampling religious freedoms in the name of health care.  Did it occur to these phonies that if they wanted to provide these benefits they could have done it without the government forcing them to?  Oh, that’s right, they want their religious views forced on others.

Via On Your Knees, Pro-Lifers: Mainline Version:

The United Methodist General Board of Church and Society, a member of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, seconds the latter’s glee over the recent decision by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to run roughshod over religious liberty in the interest of contraceptive orthodoxy

. . .

Take note, United Methodists: your GBCS wants the government to be able to force you to support practices, and spend money to support practices, that are contrary to your faith. Any Christian, whether conservative or liberal, who does not believe that this decision, if allowed to stand, will not come back to eventually haunt us is living in a dream land. But then, we’ve known that about Jim Winkler for a long time.

It makes me want to rejoin the Methodist church just so I can leave it again.

The false teachers from the UCC are just as excited to give up their freedom.

The state of the Methodists.

The following was left anonymously as a comment but I thought it was worthy of a post.  The Methodist church has some good things going internationally and at some local levels, but the national and regional leadership in the U.S. is mostly a train wreck of false teachers.  Most members aren’t aware of this.  My philosophy and advice for those still in the church is simple: Fight for the truth and for change or leave.

I did both.

As noted below, the GBCS is pro-abortion.  And not just a little bit: Methodists helped found and still actively support the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice that blasphemes God by insisting that He is pro-abortion.  And I do mean pro-abortion and not pro-choice.  If you push for taxpayer-funded abortions, you are pro-abortion.

Here is the comment that was left here.

—–

Last year I was asked to be on the Church Growth Committee at my United Methodist Church.I accepted and began to study why our Church was not growing.Initially,I studied the demographics of our local area to determine what our target group ,so to speak, was and how we could bring the message of salvation to them. I first assumed that the greatest potential for growth would be among the unchurched. It proved to be an alarming study. Most of what I found was already known by our pastors, district superintendents and our bishops. Our leaders were aware of the aging of the Church membership, the movement of our youth away from mainline church membership, the lack of pastors under thirty-five years of age,the lack of men pastoral candidates in our seminaries, the number of second career candidates and unfortunately the overall quality of those answering the call to be pastors. However, my study lead to more then just changing “how we do church” by offering a traditional or contemporary service , starting a Saturday night service, combining with a minority church to share talent, ideas and resources, hiring a highly paid Youth Director or even paying our associate ministers a decent wage. No, I found out that our church has changed fundamentally from the Wesleyan tradition and has limited our evangelical target groups so severely that continued growth will be unachievable in the future. Why? A growing Church is a biblical.,Christ-centered Church. Now wait! Hear me out.
Over time our seminaries have become packed with very liberal,if not socialist, professors. The procedures for becoming tenured in our universities is flawed. The vetting of our potential pastors, district superintendents and bishops is inadequate. The oversight of the General Board of Global Ministries/General Board of the Church and Society/ Women’s Division has been totally lacking.
Here are a few of my findings, no my beliefs, after nearly a year of trying to answer, ” Why is our Church not growing?” I had to add another question ,”Why is the Church not retaining its membership?”. The fact that the death rate of Methodists is 33% greater than the national average only shows how aged the membership is.

A.Through our political activism we have we have limited our influence on many segments of society.

a.The Church’s inclusion and support of the Methodist Federation for Social Action (MFSA) http://www.crossroad.to/Quotes/communism/communism.htm https://www.cal-pacmfsa.org/uploads/CalPacMFSA_Nwsltr_June2007.pdf alienates many of members and non-members of the Church.Personally, I am concerned with any organization that invites the Rev. Jeremiah Wright ,of the United Church of Christ, to be the keynote Speaker at its annual conference as the Iowa Conference did.The close association of our Church with the ultra- liberal United Church of Christ does help the Church. The United Church of Christ has offices in all our of the Church’s buildings in Washing DC and NYC.
United Church of Christ in US endorses same-sex marriage New York
(ENI) July 2005
The United Church of Christ has become the first major denomination in the United States to endorse same-sex marriage. In a move heralded as historic by gay-rights proponents and criticized by opponents of same sex relationships, the UCC’s General Synod, meeting in Atlanta, on 4 July voted overwhelmingly in favor of a resolution that “affirms equal marriage rights for couples regardless of gender”.
b. Our seemingly disregard of the Book of Resolutions and Social Principles in regard to the acceptance of the homosexual lifestyle alienates another large segment of the population.having Bishops march with Soul Force at the 2008 General Assembly was upsetting to many potential members and members of our congregations. The retired Bishops that performed same-sex marriages did harm to the growth of the Church and caused many members to grieve .When Bishop Ough keynoted a Reconciling Church Celebration, as the Maynard Avenue United Methodist Church of Columbus, Ohio became a Reconciling Congregation, he was clearly in support of the homosexual lifestyle.Bishop Ough has served as the bishop of the Ohio West Area of the United Methodist Church since September 2000 and was reappointed to the same area for the 2009-2012 quadrennium. He was the president of the Church’s General Board of Global Ministries, having been elected to that office in 2008.
Northern Illinois United Methodist Conference Urges: Homosexuality/bisexuality “gift of God”
June 6, 2003
Highlights of text:
…human sexuality is a good gift of God…
…homosexuality, heterosexuality and bi-sexuality all share that gift…
…we commit to proclaim that homosexual orientation (no less or more than heterosexual orientation) can be compatible with Christian teaching
… We encourage clergy to preach this from our pulpits …
…we encourage lay people to teach it in our Sunday school classes and tell it to our children…
…we affirm that loving, monogamous, intimate relationships between persons of the same or opposite gender, are an expression of God’s love…
…we affirm that persons of all sexual orientations are equally called to ordained ministry…
…as lay persons we will similarly affirm that call and we will offer ourselves fully in mutual ministry with pastors of our churches regardless of that person’s sexual orientation…

The Sex and the Church series published at the General Board of Church and Society website is about as edifying as Sex and the City.
The latest article
discusses the “evils” of heterosexism. (One wonders if there are also such things as asexism, homosexism and bisexism.)
Did you know that if you assume that a little boy will like toy trucks and guns or that little girls will like dolls, you’re a heterosexist and a homophobe? You’re also a homophobe if you describe families as consisting of “mommies and daddies”. Sodom and Gomorrah’s big sin was a “failure of hospitality.” And yes, you’re a homophobe if you don’t consider this to be a valid interpretation. That’s what Audrey Krumbach says anyway.
Does the average United Methodist know that this kind of nonsense is being propagated by an official church agency? (Have we forgotten that the official view of the UMC is that homosexuality is “incompatible with Christian teaching”?) I attend a fairly liberal United Methodist church, but I’m betting that even in my congregation most of the people are in the dark about what’s going on.
It’s time to shine some light on some of these problems. A lot of shenanigans happen in our denomination because the average United Methodist either doesn’t know or doesn’t care.

c.United Methodist Bishop Denies the Gospel on International Television
The Christian Sentinel – April 1, 2003{definition of religious pluralism added}
There he was — a representative of the second largest Protestant denomination on March 11 with a perfect opportunity to share his faith in Christ with the world watching him on “Larry King Live” on CNN. From the way the calls were coming in from from the U.S. and overseas during the show’s Q&A time period, the viewers were attentive — and on edge over the possibility of a U.S. coalition war with Iraq. Many callers were seeking guidance from the five Christian leaders gathered that evening for the telecast.
But retired Bishop Melvin Talbert, the ecumenical officer for the United Methodist Church, not only blew the opportunity to tell the world about God’s gift to humanity through Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross for their sins, but he preached a different gospel and he affirmed universalism. His comments may have helped some viewers move to an eternity apart from Christ, because what he clearly said was that other roads also lead to salvation, including those caught in the twisted world of Islam. This is Religious Pluralism- A response to the religious diversity inherent in 21st century Western culture which entails a belief that one’s own beliefs about God are self-sufficient but not universally applicable. In other words, it is the belief that “God is greater than any
one view of God.” Therefore, salvation, divine revelation, etc. are manifest and applicable to all people in diverse waysTo understand Islam is to know that we cannot identify Muslims as those who “along with us adore the one and merciful God.” To deny the Trinity is to worship another God.

Respect is a problematic category. In the end, Christians must show respect for Muslims by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the spirit of love and truth. We are called to love and respect Muslims, not Islam.
Moreover, Talbert seriously warped Scripture during his appearance and misrepresented it — declaring that it calls for things it does not, and in doing so he misrepresented the Christian faith and betrayed the Wesleyan tradition of his own denomination. This is heresy, folks. It is part of an increasing flood of apostasy, a falling away by so called Christian leaders in the Main Line denominations. Few leaders today represent the face of apostasy and the voice of treachery and treason within Christianity better than Bishop Talbert.
This latest controversy, however, is not new with Talbert. He has been brought up on discipline charges before the UMC in the past, with various evangelicals accusing him of lying and of deliberately defying church law. In more recent years he has angered many within Methodism for his promotion of homosexuality — even sanctioning gay marriages in direct defiance of his church, not to mention Scripture.
d. I think Methodist Churches has been duped by the socialist left and and radical Islam,.
.The Council for American-Islamic Relations( CAIR)http://www.meforum.org/916/cair-islamists-fooling-the-establishment , has offices in the Methodist Buildings in NYC.In NYC they share the suite with Columbia University Trustees.-Islamic radicals and the trustees of socialism. As president of the church’s North Central Jurisdiction College of Bishops,he dismissed the complaints(essentially charges of heresy) filed against Bishop C. g. The following are concepts that are pervasive in today’s mainline Churches:
Religious Liberalism (Modernism) — A religious movement that elevates human reason
(as manifested in rationalism, science, humanism and empiricism) above divine
revelation in an attempt to make the Christian faith compatible with modern culture.
Religious liberalism originally stemmed from the theological and philosophical bases of
the Age of Reason, or the Enlightenment Period. The two pillars on which religious
liberalism rests are the higher criticism and the Darwinian theory of evolution. Religious
liberalism, or modernism, denies the supernatural and emphasizes the supposed inherent
goodness and progress of mankind.
Postmodernism — The natural end of modernism (religious liberalism). Postmodernism
is a recent philosophical and theological development that denies the reality of
transcendent, objective truth by claiming that all notions of truth are socially constructed.
Truth is not a transcendent reality but a social creation of human intellect and language.
Therefore, all beliefs are equally true and valid, and any claim to absolute, objective truth
is rejected since such a claim necessarily negates the “trueness” of any competing beliefs.
As one writer stated, “Everything can mean anything, so everything means nothing.” Key
tenets of postmodernism include moral, theological and linguistic relativism, religious
pluralism and tolerance.
Religious Pluralism — A response to the religious diversity inherent in 21st century
Western culture which entails a belief that one’s own beliefs about God are self-sufficient
but not universally applicable. In other words, it is the belief that “God is greater than any
one view of God.” Therefore, salvation, divine revelation, etc. are manifest and
applicable to all people in diverse ways.
These concepts are preventing mainline Churches from growing or retaining their membership as the laity begins to understand what their giving is supporting.
The Methodist Church has been consumed by the socialist United Nations ‘s agenda. So much so, even when the agenda embraces Anti-American or Anti- Israel, the General Board of Church and Society/General Board Of Global Ministries sign letters. petitions with the likes of Code Pink, United for Peace and Justice, Veterans for Peace,ACLU, Sojourners, MoveOn.org, Oxfam America,Columbus Progressive Alliance, American Friends Service Committee,Fellowship of Reconciliation, Earth Charter ,Africa Action, IPS ,Tides Foundation, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and others. Why does it matter? The Church is losing its mission. Here are a few examples:
1. Kofi A. Annan, Past Secretary-General, the United Nations is adamantly supported by James Edward Winkler and of course Ret Bishop Melvin Talbert http://www.ncccusa.org/pdfs/UNAd.pdf
.Annan is for a global government and he could not hide his anti America sentiments even in his farewell speech.
2. So what is the GBCS’s definition of Social Justice? Let’s look how the UMC’s social justice agent responded to the recent attempt by activists to run the the blockage of Gaza:
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The United Methodist General Board of Church and Society (GBCS) is condemning the deadly interception Monday (May 31) in international waters by Israeli troops that led to the deaths of nine persons on a humanitarian aid mission to Gaza. The nine persons were part of an international “Freedom Flotilla” of six vessels carrying nearly 10,000 tons of food and medicine to Gaza, which has been under an Israeli blockade for three years.
“We grieve the loss of life and injuries sustained in what became a tragic confrontation between the forces of peace and those of armed aggression,” said Jim Winkler, chief executive of the United Methodist social justice agency.

This is the typical of the GBCS.They never mention the need for the blockade, that out of five ships only one chose to fight the Israelis or the tons of aid and supplies that has been delivered to Gaza through Israel. The GBCS has long ago accepted the WCC, NCC, and the UN stance on Israel. I truly believe that all these organizations realize that the only sane player in the Middle East Conflict is Israel and hope of peace through compromise must be with the Israelis.

Let’s look at GBCS real issues:

A.GBCS is Anti-Israel http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/02/the_united_methodist_church_an.html

B.GBCS is Anti- War-Was Jesus a pacifist?http://www.gotquestions.org/Jesus-pacifist.html

C. GBCS is Pro- Abortion

D.GBCS supports the breaking of the laws of the United States-At an April rally in Washington, D.C., United Methodist Bishop Minerva Carcaño addresses thousands of protesters calling for fair treatment of undocumented immigrants. She will be a featured speaker at ‘Welcoming the Sojourner’ Oct. 16-18, in Naperville, Ill.”Welcoming the Sojourner” is co-sponsored by the North Central Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church and the denomination’s General Board of Church & Society (GBCS). F. GBCS supports radical environment justice

G.GBCS supports interfaith-not inter-denominational but interfaith(religious pluralism)

H. GBCS Supports disarmament -peace through weakness- to the glee of the socialists/communists dictators

I.GBCS supports the ban on all hand guns-The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects a right to keep and bear arms .[1] Justice Antonin Scalia , wrote that the “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed” was a just a controlling one and referred to it as a pre-existing right of individuals to possess and carry personal weapons for self-defense and intrinsically for defense against tyranny . The Hand Guns National Coalition to Ban is located in the Methodist Building( 100 Maryland Ave NW) in Washing DC.Again,to the glee to all who would want to harm.

Nor was Porfirio Lobo, Honduras’ new president. Instead, the leaders planned to discuss the issue of his legitimacy. Some still denied the unwanted facts

behind the legal removal of the corrupt former President Zelaya — a collaborator with Communist Hugo Chavez and the drug lords they both protected. The GBCS strongly supported the President Zelaya.

United Nations is entrenched within most Christian Denominations.( http://faultlineusa.blogspot.com/2007/04/united-nations-entrenched-within-most.html, http://www.camera.org/, http://www.crossroad.to/Excerpts/chronologies/un.htm, http://www.crossroad.to/text/articles/turfur12-98.html, http://www.crossroad.to/, http://mises.org/daily/2318

3 So, what is GBCS’s definition of “Social Justice”? It is political not religious. It combines economic justice, environmental justice, gender justice into a world view that systematically blames the world’s problems on apartheid, colonialism, imperialism, US foreign policy ,corporate irresponsibility and globalization. The Church has accepted the secular version of Social Gospel.gotquestions.org States:
Adherents of the Social Gospel believe that individuals could only leave their sinful lifestyle if the social and economic situations were changed that drove them into sin in the first place. As a result of this reasoning, individual salvation was important, but second to social reform, which would convert people into Gods kingdom. Salvation of the individual then, stood as an important byproduct of working for a literal kingdom of God on earth. Working for social improvement, the Kingdom of God on earth was the thrust of the Social gospel movement. This is now become Social Justice{not Christian Charity but government control to effect equality in all things ie Socialism}This type of gospel alienates many of the membership who still believe that our time on earth should be spent in glorifying GOD and making disciples of all nations.
When churches seek unity they accept unbiblical lifestyles and religions( Religious Pluralism because they have not recognized Christ as the head of the universal church (Colossians 1:18), and are preaching “another gospel” (Galatians 1:1-9).
The true Gospel is defined in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 and John 3:16.
I can more easily explain what their definition is not. It is not biblical!

The best guide for Christians that I could find is contained in:

Dr. John F. MacArthur, Jr.
Why Government Can’t Save You : An Alternative to Political Activism. Nashville, TN : Thomas Nelson Publishers, 2000

I first became appalled with what my Church was doing-no become- when I read about the Trinity United Methodist Church in Austin welcoming into its pulpit a pagan Wiccan priest of the Covenant of the Goddess.Have we become a Apostate Church?Bishop Whitaker , Pluralism might not have been a problematic in the first century but it is now in the 21th century.
WE will soon have only Red and Blue , Pro or Anti Israel and Pro and Anti Homosexuality,Pro illegal immigration or anti illegal immigration, Pro Gun control or anti Gun control CHURCHES.We will have forgotten That Jesus did got come to overthrow the very oppressive Roman government but to establish his heavenly kingdom. We have forgotten the great commission. The only thing that can change the evil and corruption on this earth is by the acceptance of Jesus as our savior and be transformed to live a Christian life. The Church must return to the Biblical Truths to Grow the Lords’ Church. We are alienating the very people we are wanting to bring to Christ.
Our relationship to the United Nations and its Anti-American,Anti- Israel ,Pro World Government stance is of special interest to me.I am concerned about the time and energy we spend on advancing the UN’s social agenda.I need for the Bishops to answer the following questions:
A.Should Christians be tolerant of other people’s beliefs? Is there another way to heaven besides through Jesus Christ?
B.In what countries do the displaced Palestinians live? How are they treated? Why are the Christians fleeing from PA controlled areas and cities?List the compromises make by the Israelis -the Palestinians. What would happen if the Israelis laid down their arms? What would happen if the Palestinians laid down their arms?List the demands of the Palestinians for a lasting peace. List the demands of the Israelis for a lasting peace?Do we believe the God’s Covenant with Abraham will be fulfilled or do we believe in the “replacement theology”?
C.Do you believe in the inerrancy of the Bible? Have we perverted the truth? Are we preaching an ambiguous gospel? Please tell me the scriptures in the Bible that the Methodist do not believe?
I do not believe in evolution.
I believe in capital punishment.
I am against abortion.
I believe in the inerrancy of the Bible.
I believe that through Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father and salvation.
I believe that Peace on earth can only be maintained through strength.
I believe that we must obey the laws of our country or change the the laws by the ballet box.
I believe in Genesis 1 and Romans 1.
I believe God still has plans for Israel.
I believe in the 2nd amendment to the Constitution.
I am pro- Israel.
Who is left to join our Church that we have not alienated ?The illegal immigrants? We are not able to proselytize anyone! Why? Is it unbiblical?NO. It is against our politicized faith! That is also why we can not retain our members or our youth.

Hypocrisy: He’s doin’ it right

In a head-scratching example of hypocrisy that is over the top even for him, politics-disguised-as-religion-race-baiting Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie had the audacity to criticize authentic Christians for exercising their 1st Amendment rights of free speech.  I can’t imagine how even Chuck would think that organized citizens could be guilty of violating the Constitution in this way.

Chuck, of course, is the guy who spits out Democratic talking points and does whole sermons on why illegal immigration should be legal and why the Occupy movement is Christ-like.  Uh, right.

Bonus hypocrisy: I haven’t seen Chuck express concern that the President — an alleged Constitutional scholar — redefined “recess” to appoint his union donor / cronies.

In the United States there are suppose to be no religious tests to hold public office.  That’s right there in the Constitution (a document conservatives claim to love).  But religious conservatives seem to be doing all in their considerable power to decide who the GOP nominee for president will be.  In short, they trying to imposing a religious test on the presidency.  . . .  Otherwise, why are officials of the Southern Baptist Convention like Richard Land weighing in on the GOP nomination process?  We cannot afford to allow our democracy to devolve into a theocracy.  Religious liberty is at stake in 2012.

More mainstream church rebellion

The Methodist Book of Discipline has a biblical view of homosexuality, but there are too many people willing to break the rules because they are tired of losing in their efforts to have it changed.  Via Methodist Liberals: We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Rules:

For several decades now, the liberal formula for forcing through unpopular changes in the mainline churches has been to deliberately break the rules of the targeted denomination, and then daring the authorities to enforce discipline. This practice was spectacularly successful in the Episcopal Church, where women’s ordination became a reality after this kind of blackmail. It now looks like liberal United Methodist clergy have decided that this approach might force the denomination to accept same-sex marriage. According to Pamela Lightsey, Dean of Students at Garrett-Evangelical Seminary (Rosemary Reuther’s old haunt):

Across the country, clergy members in the United Methodist Church are now being faced with the stark reality that public policy is far more prophetic and just than our current church polity as they witness the increasing passing of laws that support marriage rights and civil unions of LGBTQ persons. What are loving clergy to say to those persons whom they have had the honor of watching grow as faithful members of our church when asked to officiate and bless them in a ceremony (whether it be marriage, civil union, or commitment) that honors their desire to be in lifelong relationships with loving partners?

Here’s an option: Tell them the biblical truth that homosexual behavior is a sin.  They are welcome to have non-sexual life long relationships.  We even have a special name for those relationships: Friendships.

Last week, 70 United Methodist Clergy in Minnesota pledged to defy church polity against performing such ceremonies. This week, as of Thursday, 134 clergy in the Northern Illinois Conference have pledged the same. If they follow through with their pledge, they face the possibility of losing their clergy orders. It should be noted that losing one’s credentials is not simply losing the ability to continue your called vocation as clergy but with it, takes away their authorization to preside over the sacred rituals of baptism and Holy Eucharist. I should also mention, it includes a host of practical entitlements such as health benefits, clergy housing allowance (a tax benefit), parsonages, and fellowship within several clergy peer groups. Sufficeth to say, their commitment is a boldly courageous posture….

What we are doing is in fact challenging our church to keep its word and be an “open,” inclusive and loving member of the body of Christ. We are committed to this risk-taking ministry. I trust our Episcopal leaders will know that we are praying for them and that this action is our faithful witness “to do justly, to love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.” (Micah 6:8)

They are walking with their god — the one of their own making.

So just add dishonesty to their list of traits (technically it was already there — they either lied at their ordination vows or changed their minds later and didn’t have the integrity to leave).

It applies to all churches, though.  The blame ultimately falls on wimpy conservatives who liked their popularity more than they liked exercising church discipline.  We should have kicked out these apostates long ago, but rationalized that we were being more “civil” by letting them stay.

I’m a fan of real civility, but I don’t apologize for stepping on wolf toes.

Not just a joke, but a bad joke.

See Gay minister suspended for 20 days for the first announcement about the “penalty” for this “minister” conducting a “same-sex wedding” in 2009.  Sorry for all the scare quotes, but she is obviously not a Christian and “same-sex wedding” is an oxymoron.  And the penalty was less than a slap on the wrist, because it includes her being ordered to “draft a document outlining issues that harm United Methodist Church’s clergy covenant with help of church leaders.”  That will obviously end up being a forum for her to advance her apostate views and isn’t a penalty at all.  That’ll show her, right?

So she deceives by promising to uphold the rules of the church while having no intention of doing so, shakes her fist at God daily, finally gets called on it, and ends up with no punishment.  Her conference needs to either quit calling themselves Christians or they need to grow a pair (uh, metaphorically speaking).

She should have been fired a long time ago.  Her supervisors should be fired now for letting this go on.  If an HP employee started selling Dell products, they’d be fired that day.  She and her ilk are doing Satan’s business and have no place in church.

DeLong reminds me of Beth Stroud, another person who lied at her ordination vows and infiltrated the church, won people over, then came out on queue.  These people either lied at their ordination vows or changed their minds later and didn’t have the integrity to quit, and that alone should disqualify them from ministry.  This goes for the 100 or so Methodist “ministers” threatening to perform same-sex ceremonies.  They should all be fired just for their conspiracy.  They are plenty of apostate denominations for them to join.

I’m assured that the Texas conference of the Methodist church wouldn’t ordain a false teacher like her and definitely wouldn’t do a phony trial like that.  I’m looking forward to visiting with the Methodist Church in Kenya later this year, as they are authentic Christians who actually submit to the word of God (what a concept!).  The U.S. apostates hate that the international church is growing, so they tried unsuccessfully to minimize their voting power.

Some lowlights:

A jury suspended the Rev. Amy DeLong from ministerial duties for 20 days, beginning July 1, noting the time is to be used for “spiritual discernment.”

Uh, yeah, that’ll work.  What makes them think that after her “seminary,” her 16 years in a lesbian relationship and all her years of false teaching will be fixed by 20 days in time-out?

“We’ve said all along that we have already been successful,” DeLong said. “We had a 100 percent chance of winning because our goal was to be faithful and to tell the truth. We have done that and we’ve broken the silence. We’ve opened the door a little bit so (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender) people can hear a good message from the church.”

You can tell how sad she is for “losing” at trial.  What a sham.

These folks could hear a good message from the church, except that DeLong and company refuse to share it.  Here’s the message: If you repent and believe, you’ll be saved.  But you need to meet God on his terms.  When you mock him, make up your own god and twist/ignore his word it does not qualify.

If you really love LGBTQX people you’ll share the truth with them and point them to ministries like this.

Church counsel proposed that DeLong should be suspended until she signs a pledge that she will not perform same-sex weddings in the future, as long as it remains church law.

. . .

Despite the ruling, DeLong said she would not treat an invitation to preside over a same sex marriage any differently than she would a traditional marriage.

“There’s no way I would categorically discriminate against them based on their sexual orientation,” she said.

Gee, can you see how repentant she is?

What utter cowards and fakes.  She refused to sign an agreement saying she would follow the rules (which would have been redundant with the vows she already broke), and they let her off!

If John Wesley were alive he would never stop throwing up.

If you are a Methodist and are happy with this ruling, please leave the church.  Christianity may not be your forte’.  If you are unhappy with it, please fight it or leave.  But don’t just sit on the sidelines while these people mock God and his word.

Roundup

This is sweet.  We need more politics like this.  Enjoy John Boehner’s response to Harry Reid’s advice.

Senators Reid, Durbin, Schumer, Murray and Stabenow:

Thank you for reminding us – and the American people – of the backroom deal that you struck behind closed doors with ‘Big Pharma,’ resulting in bigger profits for the drug companies, and higher prescription drug costs for33 million seniors enrolled in Medicare Part D, at a cost to the taxpayers of $42.6 billion.

The House is going to pass legislation to repeal that now.  You’re welcome.

Vestigial Arguments – Begging the Question for Darwin – thorough response to the bad reasoning Darwinists have used regarding allegedly vestigial organs

A summary of Dr. Laura’s Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands – good stuff!

The lies of T.D. Jakes… – so sad when they twist the word of God for their own benefits.

In Europe, the Government Owns Your Future – coming soon to a country near you.  Seriously, Democrats will eventually want to tap into your 401k accounts and more.

The title says it all: National debt increased 60% under Speaker Pelosi

Why is the Tea Party Targeting the Methodist Church? – OK with me.

Reading the Methodist social justice manifesto is like reading a socialist wish list.  They want amnesty, they want ‘economic justice’, they opposed ‘global climate change’ (earth to the Methodists, man isn’t doing it), fighting global poverty (here is another hint, most poverty is caused by a lack of freedom and lack of a free enterprise system).  Not shockingly, the Methodists side with the Islamists against Israel, and of course oppose America in Iraq.

Just overheard on the BBC World TV: “Iraq’s dwindling Christian population…”

Dwindling population?
Why would the Iraqi Christian population be dwindling?
Because Muslims are killing them.
The latest attack follows the October massacre which killed over 50.
If 50+ homosexuals had been slaughtered the world would have been outraged.
But, it’s just Christians.
While Christ weeps the West sleeps.
