More gifts from the Left!

What now?  Just that the Left is on record saying that felons should be able to vote — possibly even the Boston Marathon Bomber.  Source: Moonbattery Voting Rights for Boston Marathon Bomber

HARRIS: I have been long an advocate of making sure that the formally incarcerated are not denied a right to vote, which is the case in so many states in our country, in some states permanently deprived of the right to vote.

She then gibbered about how not letting incarcerated terrorists vote is the equivalent of Jim Crow. Her rhetoric confirmed yet again that for all the good it may of done in the past, civil rights is now nothing more than a wrecking ball.

LEMON: But people who are in — convicted, in prison, like the Boston Marathon bomber, on death row, people who are convicted of sexual assault, they should be able to vote?

HARRIS: I think we should have that conversation.

I love it. That will come back to haunt her and all the other Dems who either have to explain why she’s nuts (and alienate the extreme Left) or agree with her.

And here’s a great response to Bernie:

It is so simple to point out how letting felons vote would have disastrous impacts on local communities – and that’s just for starters. The prison where I do prison ministry has as many convicted felons as the town has eligible voters. The felons could easily outnumber the free people.  Please, Democrats, keep talking about this!

But wait, there’s more!  Elizabeth Warren wants to buy votes buy promising to pay off college debt.  You could run against that 24×7 in swing states, reminding those who didn’t go to college that Warren et al want to make them pay for the college degrees and unfinished college programs of those who make much more than them.  How about if Warren just cut her $400,000 Harvard salary by 90%?

Their hypocrisy is staggering and unending.  They are so “generous” that they never stop trying to spend more of your money, but they are comically stingy with their own charity, such at Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke donating a whole 0.3% of his income.  These frauds are rich but give away almost nothing.  And even then their tax returns don’t say what they gave to.  It may have been to Leftist political organizations and not charities helping the poor.

Their hatred of Trump has driven them to further open borders extremism: Sanctuary cities, judges helping illegals avoid ICE, benefits for illegals, etc.

Then there is the gun-grabbing.  More and more Dems are on record saying they really do want to take our guns.  Until they get complete power they’ll do it indirectly with excessive fees and restrictions, then they’ll start grabbing.

And don’t forget how they fight to kill children up to their first breath and even after those abortions “fail.”  Most people identifying as pro-choice don’t support later-term abortions.

And the Green New Deal?  Just quoting from the original is all you need to do to mock them.

And there is always the Socialism thing.    This pretty much sums it up.

And yes, Snopes actually did a piece saying she wasn’t really on the show.  Don’t believe me?  Check out Snopes.com.

But the Republicans – aka the party of stupid — will probably find a way to fumble these issues.  If they would just stay on point, and keep reminding people that the entire Russia thing was an elaborate hoax made up by the Left, then Trump should win.

So to recap, the Democrats are proudly:

  • Pro-child killing to the first breath and even OK with letting them die if they survive abortions
  • Pro-perversion, including teaching your 5 yr. old children that they can change genders and taking your children away if you don’t affirm their desires.  Oh, and increasingly saying that pedophilia is an “orientation” – which means it must be not only protected by law but affirmed.
  • Open borders to reduce your wages or take your jobs and to reduce your safety and quality of life
  • Hypocrites who give your money to counterproductive social programs but are incredibly stingy themselves – even though they are the epitome of the “1%”
  • Gun-grabbers who mock the Constitution
  • Anti-free speech
  • Rabid antisemitism from the Muslims elected in districts where vast amounts of “refugees” have been imported
  • In favor of murderers, rapists and terrorists voting from prison
  • In favor of destroying the economy with their ridiculous Green New Deal – just another part of their unlimited power grab based on “climate change” fallacies

The benefits of the tax bill keep increasing, so Leftists are getting more unhinged

The tax bill in particular and Trump’s other economic initiatives in general (such as reducing regulations) are dramatically improving the financial situation of the entire country.  Nearly everyone benefits from one or more of these:

  • Tax cuts that help at least 80% of the population and make it much easier to file for most people.  And the few that do have to pay more are mainly the rich in Leftist states (as if you could do anything to please them anyway — and don’t they claim to like paying higher taxes?).
  • The stock market gains have been phenomenal.  Anyone with any sort of retirement account has to be enjoying this.  And it is all because of the Republican financial moves.  The stock market always looks forward, so this is all about these changes and has nothing to do with Obama.
  • Many companies have raised wages and/or given bonuses, including Wal-Mart.  This helps nearly everyone, because other companies will need to raise wages to keep up.  That supply and demand thing has its sharp edges, but in this case it will help.  And while wage increases can ultimately be inflationary, in this case the companies are using their tax savings to fund them so they won’t necessarily be raising prices.  Haven’t Leftists always lamented Wal-Mart?  Shouldn’t they be cheering now?

Also, while we don’t have a wall yet, illegal immigration is down and that will provide more jobs to citizens and help increase wages.   And the tax bill gutted Obamacare by eliminating the individual mandate.

This is all so spectacularly good for everyone — except the radical Leftists who hate Trump so much that they’d deny these amazing benefits to the people they claim to care about.

The Left will go on hating Trump and get even more unhinged, but how do you think all those people getting tax cuts, pay raises and fatter retirement accounts will feel?  Hopefully they’ll realize that Republicans have always been the adults in the room on economics. and that the Left has not only been lying to them but that they never really cared about them to begin with.  The Republicans can campaign on having kept some major promises.

Pass the popcorn.

How pro-life apologetics–and a little common sense–could have swayed the elections

I’m re-running this in honor of Rand Paul turning the tables on the Left and asking if they are OK with killing a 7 lb. baby in the womb.  I much prefer Cruz or Walker over Paul, but it was a great answer.  We need more of that!

Also see Turning rocks into softballs where I offer some other tips on how to respond to the questions about rape, incest or abortions in general.

We need to be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves!

—–

A few gaffes – most notably by candidates Akin and Mourdock – cost the Republicans two Senate seats and possibly the White House.  But with just a little common sense and some simple pro-life arguments they could have easily turned this to our advantage.  Romney and others could have done the same thing whether the specific rape/abortion questions came up or not.

The errors resulted when the candidates tried to articulate theological concepts that can’t be distilled into sound bites and that are virtually certain to be misinterpreted by the media and voters.  If you are running for office you should be skilled at knowing what hot topic questions you’ll get and how to steer the answers to your advantage.

So when the topic of abortions in the case of rape and incest came up, they didn’t need to get theological.  They could have noted any or all of the following.  Consider how simple yet accurate these arguments are and how they would resonate with the average voter – even pro-choice voters, the majority of whom side with pro-lifers on topics like parental notification, late-term abortions and taxpayer funding of abortions.

  • Rape is an incredibly serious crime and I support punishing it to the full extent of the law.
  • Incest, in this case, isn’t about 30-something siblings who are attracted to each other, it is about innocent young girls being abused by relatives.  That means it is rape.  Here’s a perfect example.
  • Statutory rape is rape, and the most rampant kind in our society.  Planned Parenthood has been caught countless times on audio and video systematically hiding statutory rape.  If elected, I will not only fight to stop their Federal funding but I would work tirelessly to hold them accountable for their crimes of hiding these rapes. If a 28 yr. old guy is statutorily raping your 13 yr. old daughter or granddaughter then Planned Parenthood will be glad to destroy the evidence and hide the crime – funded by your tax dollars!  They have also been caught hiding sex traffickers, and the opposition to sex trafficking is one of the few issues where Democrats and Republicans have common ground.   Surely we can all agree that we don’t want our tax dollars to fund organizations that hide that crime!
  • If you want to entertain capital punishment for the rapist then we could debate that, but why would the innocent child have to suffer for the father’s crimes?  It is a scientific fact that the unborn are unique human beings from fertilization.  Go check out any embryology textbook.  Let’s put the focus on punishing the guilty rapists and those who hide their crimes.
  • If you want to understand the theology about God’s sovereignty I’d be glad to share it with you, but that is beyond the scope of this debate and would take some time to explain.  But you don’t have to be a theologian to know that rape is evil and hiding the crimes of rapists is evil.
  • Roe v Wade won’t be overturned and even if it was it wouldn’t make abortion illegal — it would just turn it over to the states.
  • Remember that the official platform of the Democrats is now pro-abortion, not pro-choice.  They want abortions without restriction — which would include partial-birth abortions (aka infanticide) — and they want pro-lifers to fund them with their taxes.  That means Democrats want more abortions, not less, and they want others to pay for them.  Obamacare is already forcing people to pay for some abortions, and it is deliberately violating religious freedoms and conscience clauses.

They could also respond by asking some of the questions the media never asks pro-abortion candidates:

1. You say you support a woman’s right to make her own reproductive choices in regards to abortion and contraception. Are there any restrictions you wouldapprove of?

2. In 2010, The Economist featured a cover storyon “the war on girls” and the growth of “gendercide” in the world – abortion based solely on the sex of the baby. Does this phenomenon pose a problem for you or do you believe in the absolute right of a woman to terminate a pregnancy because the unborn fetus is female?

3. In many states, a teenager can have an abortion without her parents’ consent or knowledge but cannot get an aspirin from the school nurse without parental authorization. Do you support any restrictions or parental notification regarding abortion access for minors?

4. If you do not believe that human life begins at conception, when do you believe it begins? At what stage of development should an unborn child have human rights?

5. Currently, when genetic testing reveals an unborn child has Down Syndrome, most women choose to abort. How do you answer the charge that this phenomenon resembles the “eugenics” movement a century ago – the slow, but deliberate “weeding out” of those our society would deem “unfit” to live?

6. Do you believe an employer should be forced to violate his or her religious conscience by providing access to abortifacient drugs and contraception to employees?

7. Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King, Jr. has said that “abortion is the white supremacist’s best friend,” pointing to the fact that Black and Latinos represent 25% of our population but account for 59% of all abortions. How do you respond to the charge that the majority of abortion clinics are found in inner-city areas with large numbers of minorities?

8. You describe abortion as a “tragic choice.” If abortion is not morally objectionable, then why is it tragic? Does this mean there is something about abortion that is different than other standard surgical procedures?

9. Do you believe abortion should be legal once the unborn fetus is viable – able to survive outside the womb?

10. If a pregnant woman and her unborn child are murdered, do you believe the criminal should face two counts of murder and serve a harsher sentence?

How hard would that be?  Instead, Akin, Mourdock et al answered foolishly and cost us Senate seats and possibly the presidency, and they missed an easy opportunity to educate people on the most important moral issue of our time.

Please equip yourself with basic pro-life reasoning and be prepared to share it.

Stay classy, pro-abortion people

Some great news:

The Texas legislature has finally passed a late-term abortion ban — as it would have last month, had a mob not taken over the upper chamber’s galleries and disrupted the legislative process.

This is the 20 week ban that 62% of people support, including females.

Here is a sample of what the pro-abortion forces have done.  Any resemblance to the blind men of Sodom is purely biblical.

The good thing is that the middle ground people can get a glimpse of who the extremists are.

Don’t think that this experience won’t stick in the minds of Americans, either. The pro-abortion activist front may have set back their own cause by decades.  That’s good news for unborn children — and also for people who love representative democracy.

Having said all that, guess which group I respect more?

  1. The pro-aborts chanting, “Hail Satan!”
  2. The false teachers who are pro-abortion while claiming the name of Christ.

Yes, you are right.  I much prefer group 1.

9 Things You Should Know About Female Body Image Issues — hopefully this gets people to re-think their views.

9. The only complete way to overcome the problem is to have our beliefs about body image transformed by the Holy Spirit. As Heather Davis says in the Journal of Biblical Counseling:

In pursuing worldly beauty, we strive to become this elusive image in place of who we really are. You and I are created in the image of the living God. Our purpose is to reflect His image to the world. But since the fall, we let the world inscribe its image on us. It is the very picture of sin and ultimately death. Instead of being transformed to God’s image, we conform to the world’s image. We are hopelessly stuck in a lifeless cycle, exchanging God for the creature as our object of worship. But God in His mercy rescued us!

In love, God sent Jesus Christ to take on the consequences of our idolatrous affair. He became sin so that we might become righteous. In Christ, God gives us freedom from sin’s power now and hope for its eradication in heaven. God makes you beautiful with the beauty of His Son, Jesus. It is in gazing at God’s image in Jesus Christ that you are transformed. Romans 12:1-2 says, “Therefore, I urge you, (sisters) in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not be conformed any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

The 2nd Amendment is safe — for now.  Mercifully a few Senators did the right thing.  Note how Obama was more upset at losing this bill than he was after Benghazi.  And how he has ghoulishly milked the Newtown tragedy but was nearly silent on Aurora.  Why?  Because the latter was before the election.

But kudos to Senators Cruz, Lee and Paul for being willing to provide leadership where there has been none.

Now – on to Immigration.

More good news: The most important thing about yesterday’s vote: national reciprocal concealed-carry is doable.

And still more good news:  Could Obama’s gun-control push cost Democrats the Senate?

A good summary of the moral argument for God’s existence as well as responses to objections to it.

“Day of Silence” — annual homosexual assault on children in schools — taking place this Friday, April 19. Parents can fight back! — Hey, how about a day of silence for the 1,000,000+ unwanted human beings who will be killed in the U.S. this year via abortion?

Never forget the real issues with the Kermit Gosnell story.  It isn’t that he did some bad things.  What would you expect from an abortionist?!  Never be surprised that people who kill babies for a living will lie, have unsanitary clinics, kill babies 30 seconds after it is legal, hide statutory rape and sex trafficking, etc.

The real issues are:

  1. The Liberal media, Planned Parenthood and false teachers knew that he was far too similar to other abortionists so they tried to hide the truth.
  2. Killing babies 30 seconds after being born is morally equivalent to killing them in the womb.
  3. The political correctness of abortion meant that the safety regulations were not enforced for 17 years.

Newtown shooting reaction = take the guns from law-abiding people.  Boston bombing reaction = take the guns from law-abiding people.

These scenarios are nearly guaranteed.  The media, Liberal politicians and false teachers will be very, very sad if it isn’t #2.

What we can expect once we know what the attack was about:

  1. If it was an Islamist, Dems will immediately proclaim that the person(s) was a lone wolf and not representative or part of the Islamic world in the least, and if you try to link the even to Islamic terrorism, Sharia law, etc, well, you’re an Islamophobe. They’ll also say that we should have more spending and federal government because of this 1 off incident.

  2. If it was a domestic plot, they will immediately look to portray the person(s) as far right, and will keep that narrative up despite any evidence to the contrary, and will make this about the Conservative movement/Republican Party as a whole, demonizing all, attempting to destroy all on the Right, despite Conservatives disowning these fringe groups. Oh, and call for more government and spending and liberty restrictions.

  3. If the person is easily known as a liberal (Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Black Bloc, some environmentalist, etc, groups that Liberals rarely disown), the media will either completely downplay the link and still find a way to blame Republicans or let the story quietly die out while also mentioning that this was an aberration and means we need X (gun control, more spending, bigger government, higher taxes, etc).

Also see: Left hopes bomber is a white dude.

Speaking of the media not reporting important stories, see Top Ten Excuses for Black Mob Violence.  So is it racist to report on black-on-white racism? Apparently.  Try finding these in the national news.

The error of broad-brushing economic statistics

Putting all the blame or credit on one leader is incorrect. You have to look at what specific policies they drove and actually implemented and what the effects were.

Should Clinton get all the credit for the 90’s? Absolutely not. Clinton should send thank-you’s to the 90’s Republicans who prevented him from implementing many of his policies. He should also thank the PC business / Internet boom which drove the phenomenal growth of the decade. He benefited from the Internet bubble and the massive productivity gains and business growth, while Bush was impacted negatively by the bursting of the Internet bubble. Clinton didn’t create the technology boom and Bush didn’t burst the bubble, but the stats of both are impacted by them.

And the problems at the end of Bush’s term were largely from the race-baiting housing bubble driven by Democrats — the very thing they are doing again!.  Sadly, they were able to exploit people’s ignorance on the matter, with the help of the Democrats and their media allies who ignored or lied about the root causes.  That not only led to us getting Obama, but they pretended that a President couldn’t make real changes in one term.  Ugh.

Some good news from my former denomination: Talk Grows of Liberal Exodus from UMC.  Alternate title: “Non-Christians threaten to leave church.”  And people think this is a bad thing . . . why?  It would be the best thing to happen to the Methodists in 100 years.

Since last spring’s General Conference, there has been an unprecedented mushrooming of talk of liberal exodus from the United Methodist Church.  For all of the surrounding frustration, that landmark event in Tampa, Florida was an apparent turning point in the struggle for the soul of our global denomination.

Delegates affirmed the denomination’s official teaching that sex is “only” for marriage and that homosexual practice is “incompatible with Christian teaching” (¶161F of the Book of Discipline) by a significantly larger margin than the previous General Conference. For the first time, activists opposed to biblical teaching ultimately gave up on even contesting UMC policies aligning required behavior of clergy and denominational officials with this stand.

More good news: There’s hope for civilization:

You have to look outside the Beltway, of course, but occasionally there’s a glimmer.

Pat Wesner is a mother of four, with one grown, disabled son in her care and another serving in Afghanistan. On Tuesday, she stumbled on the perfect crime when $11,000 fell off a Brinks truck with no one around to see it.

But she returned the money, because it didn’t belong to her.  What a concept!

Now, meet 18-year-old Indiana man Jhaqueil Reagan, who walked 10 miles in the snow for a job interview at Dairy Queen to support his brothers and sisters, and was well rewarded for his efforts . . .

Liberal thinking hasn’t poisoned everyone!

The Magical Word “Women” – A great lesson in politics and how Republicans are stupid when dealing with the Democrats’ games.  The Dems just throw in a word like “women” then add all sorts of awful things to a bill then shame Republicans into voting for it.  How hard would it be to distribute talking points to all Republicans along these lines?

  • You don’t need Federal laws against spousal abuse (or any kind of abuse).  State and local government have those covered.
  • “It expands the definition of domestic violence to include causing “emotional distress” or using “unpleasant speech.”” – this makes it overly broad and open to all sorts of (ironically enough) abuse.
  • “It ostensibly nullifies the legal presumption of innocence until proven guilty.”
  • The bill also expands the law’s reach to give tribal Indian authorities jurisdiction over non-Indians accused of abusing Indian women.
  • “It would grant more visas to illegal immigrants who are victims of domestic abuse.”  So we are going to take on everyone in the planet who lodges an accusation of abuse?   And we’ll do this when we don’t even take people suffering from religious persecution?

Don’t let Leftists and fake Christians play out their equivalent of the shrill Helen Lovejoy “won’t someone please think of the children/women” falsehood.

Once again, see how non-Christians/non-Catholics/fake Christians think they have a say in the selection of the next Pope.

There is much that good people of faith can disagree with Pope Benedict on: his attacks on the rights of women and gays and lesbians, and the failures of the RCC under his leadership to deal with the child abuse scandal.

Translations:

  • “Attacks on the rights of women” = opposing the crushing and dismembering of innocent but unwanted human beings.  Oh, and nearly all gender-selection abortions kill females for the sole reason that they are female.  Still not sure how that qualifies as pro-women.  Shame on the “churches” who insist that it is a human right  to be able to kill babies.
  • “attacks on the rights of gays and lesbians” = believes what God says in the Bible and opposes oxymoronic “same-sex marriage.”
  • “child abuse scandal” – you mean the one perpetrated and covered up by the huge homosexual underground in the Church?  Yes, we oppose that, too.

Why Are We Not Talking About America’s $123 Trillion In Unfunded Liabilities? – another example of Republicans being stupid at politics.  It isn’t just the National Debt, it is the off-balance sheet liabilities that must be dealt before we destroy this great country.

US Unfunded Liabilities

Another sad story of how deadly political correctness can be.  Note that when they are discussing criminal acts, “Asian” = Muslim

For all the phony hype about bullying, here’s a real bullying story that doesn’t seem to be getting much traction in the media. I wonder why:

The devastated family of a nine-year-old boy who hanged himself say he took his life after racist taunts by Asian bullies.

Former top IVF doc: I was ‘absolutely horrified’ when I realized what I was doing – be very cautious when considering in vitro fertilization.

Caruso noted that such “objectification of children” is of a piece with the IVF mentality, where aborting inconvenient children is both routine and encouraged.

Breaking: Obama campaign caught in major NC vote fraud scheme – anyone surprised?

North Carolina’s Civitas Institute has revealed that the North Carolina State Board of Elections and the Obama campaign conspired to register at least 11,000 people via the internet in violation of state law. This has been confirmed through records requests filed with all of North Carolina’s 100 counties. The counting is not yet complete.

North Carolina does not allow online voting, but according to Civitas, SBE staff authorized an Obama campaign website, Gottaregister.com, to use a web-based registration program. The SBE’s chief lawyer responded to the charge with a plainly disingenuous 1984-newspeak answer:

Wright repeatedly denied that the SBE allowed online voter registration, insisting that it was “web-based voter registration” instead, as if there could be a “web-based” process that wasn’t online.

My biggest concern is that their successful voter fraud will, as with other criminals, embolden them to do larger and larger frauds.

Even more good news: How privatization turned the worst-performing NHS hospital around – Capitalism works.  Socialism and Communism do not.  History has spoken, but people are too ignorant of it and of basic human nature.

Hollywood stars ignore current Bill of Rights while lobbying for a new one

Via Pro-Abortion Movie Stars Push New “Bill of Reproductive Rights” we find many more reasons to ignore actors.  They are eager to ignore the First Amendment in the Bill of Rights, so I’m not sure why they think we should care about their new list of “rights.”

A who’s who of Hollywood is behind a new campaign sponsored by the pro-abortion Center for Reproductive Rights supporting an online campaign for a Bill of Reproductive Rights. The campaign complains about Republicans and pro-lifers who oppose the Obama HHS abortion mandate that forces religious groups to pay for abortion-causing drugs.

It is hard to fathom just how ignorant they are.  For starters, “reproductive rights” would apply to birth control, not abortion.  Abortions are specifically performed to kill unwanted human beings that have already been reproduced.  That is a scientific fact.

And note how aggressive they are about forcing their pro-abortion beliefs on others.  What happened to “pro-choice?”  When you insist that others must pay for your abortions then you are long past “choice.”

“Every day, the opponents of our fundamental reproductive rights are passing laws designed to take those rights away,” Streep says in a video for the campaign. “They’re shutting down doctors and clinics across the nation. They’re making it nearly impossible for millions of women to get the essential healthcare they need.”

Killing innocent but unwanted human beings is the opposite of healthcare.

The Bill of Reproductive Rights petitions call for “a full range of safe, affordable and readily accessible reproductive healthcare,” including abortion and say Americans have the right to “make our own decisions about our reproductive health and future, free from intrusion or coercion.”

They insist on the “right” to “make our own decisions about our reproductive health and future, free from intrusion or coercion” while using coercion to intrude into the wallets of those who disagree with them.  They pretend to want others out of their sex lives while demanding that we not only get involved but to pay to kill the innocent byproducts of their private lives.

The full petition reads:

“We the people of the United States hereby assert the following as fundamental human rights that no government may deny, and that our governments at every level must guarantee and safeguard for all.

1. The right to make our own decisions about our reproductive health and future, free from intrusion or coercion by any government, group, or individual.

In that case they should afford those same rights to the unborn.

2. The right to a full range of safe, affordable, and readily accessible reproductive health care including pregnancy care, preventive services, contraception, abortion, and fertility treatment—and accurate information about all of the above.

3. The right to be free from discrimination in access to reproductive health care or on the basis of our reproductive decisions.

These science-haters appear to be ignorant of the scientific fact that a new human being is created at fertilization. I’m too pro-science to be pro-choice — or pro-abortion, as the Democrats have officially become.

Mitt Romney is a Mormon. Mormons aren’t Christians. But I’ll vote for Mitt Romney.

Romney was not on my list of desirable Republican candidates, but I’ll still vote for him.  Why?  Because the lesser of two evils is less evil.  And the current President puts forth truly evil and destructive policies.

It is interesting to see how the media and the fake Christians were quick to defend attacks on Romney’s faith when they were trying to help him win the Republican nomination but are subtly and not-so-subtly attacking his faith now.  Hypocrites.

Mormons aren’t Christians, but I have a lot more in common with them politically than I do with Leftist (read: fake) denominations like Obama’s apostate UCC.  Mormons are pro-life and pro-family.  Romney will spend far less than Obama.

And remember, we haven’t seen the worst of Obama.  If he wins again he’ll be even more unrestrained than when he pushed through the un-Constitutional Obamacare, arbitrarily decided not to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act, took over General Motors to give $$ to the unions, and so much more.

Most importantly, the next President will get to appoint a couple of justices to the Supreme Court, which will swing the court to the good or the very bad for decades.

P.S. I’m so disappointed when people who should know better insist that Mormons are Christians.  See Mormonism isn’t Christianity, even if the president of Fuller Theological Seminary says otherwise for an example.
