A really, really easy way to spot false teachers

If they say Jesus was wrong about anything then you know you have a wolf.  Via Pastor: Jesus Was Wrong About Marriage.

This exchange in particular was the most glaringly infuriating as White, a proponent of same-sex marriage who angered his own congregation recently because of his adamant belief that Christianity supports such a practice, went so far as to agree that Jesus Christ was wrong about His position on marriage being defined as one man and one woman, and if Jesus were alive today he would, in fact, support gay marriage.

It is very common for the fakes to sit in judgment of God, but rarely do they take off the sheepskin so completely and say it outright.  In a weird way I appreciate people who are so transparently fake.

The other good thing is that he conceded that what the Bible really says!  Even non-Christians and two out of the three types of pro-gay theologians* can see these truths:

  • 100% of the verses addressing homosexual behavior denounce it as sin in the clearest and strongest possible terms.
  • 100% of the verses referring to God’s ideal for marriage involve one man and one woman.
  • 100% of the verses referencing parenting involve moms and dads with unique roles (or at least a set of male and female parents guiding the children).
  • 0% of 31,173 Bible verses refer to homosexual behavior in a positive or even benign way or even hint at the acceptability of homosexual unions.

* 1. “The Bible says homosexuality is wrong but it isn’t the word of God” (obviously non-Christians) 2. “The Bible says it is wrong but God changed his mind” (only about 10 things wrong with that) 3. “The Bible is the word of God but you are just misunderstanding it” (Uh, no, not really.)

False teachers rejoice over illegal acts by President Obama

The blog of false teacher Jim “the Gospel is all about wealth redistribution” Wallis rejoiced that President Obama defied the Constitution to buy Latino votes.

But this is just the beginning. “We’re not going to stop until we get the DREAM Act passed, and everyone can sleep without the fear of deportation.”

As one activist said best, “This is long overdue. This is the right thing. This is the humane thing to do, but there’s more to do.”

That’s just more Leftist politics-disguised-as-religion.  Obama himself noted last year that it was outside the scope of his presidency to do this.  Apparently a close election has prompted him to make yet another un-Constitutional vote-buying move.

With friends like these . . .

Reading How Obama’s plan to raise the minimum wage will hurt young black men reminded me of how counterproductive so many Liberal policies are for blacks.

The abortion rate is three times higher for blacks than whites, and Liberal dreams of taxpayer-funded abortions will deliberately take that higher.  Yet they are the ones claiming to have the long term best interests of blacks at heart?  Planned Parenthood kills more blacks in a week than the evil KKK did since their inception (and ironically enough, the KKK is pro-life).

They support teacher’s unions without fail and oppose charter schools, yet they are the ones claiming to have the long term best interests of blacks at heart?

They assume that poor blacks will always be poor and set up the welfare to perpetuate that, yet they are the ones claiming to have the long term best interests of blacks at heart?

Now here’s part of the post about how minimum wage increases hurt young black men.  I encourage you to read it all.

Moderate economist Gregory Mankiw of Harvard University lists the policies that are accepted by virtually all economists.

Here’s Greg’s list, together with the percentage of economists who agree:

  1. A ceiling on rents reduces the quantity and quality of housing available. (93%)
  2. Tariffs and import quotas usually reduce general economic welfare. (93%)
  3. Flexible and floating exchange rates offer an effective international monetary arrangement. (90%)
  4. Fiscal policy (e.g., tax cut and/or government expenditure increase) has a significant stimulative impact on a less than fully employed economy. (90%)
  5. The United States should not restrict employers from outsourcing work to foreign countries. (90%)
  6. The United States should eliminate agricultural subsidies. (85%)
  7. Local and state governments should eliminate subsidies to professional sports franchises. (85%)
  8. If the federal budget is to be balanced, it should be done over the business cycle rather than yearly. (85%)
  9. The gap between Social Security funds and expenditures will become unsustainably large within the next fifty years if current policies remain unchanged. (85%)
  10. Cash payments increase the welfare of recipients to a greater degree than do transfers-in-kind of equal cash value. (84%)
  11. A large federal budget deficit has an adverse effect on the economy. (83%)
  12. A minimum wage increases unemployment among young and unskilled workers. (79%)
  13. The government should restructure the welfare system along the lines of a “negative income tax.” (79%)
  14. Effluent taxes and marketable pollution permits represent a better approach to pollution control than imposition of pollution ceilings. (78%)
All this makes the race-baiting of false teachers like Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie and the Leftist media so galling.  Tea Party members love people like Herman Cain because his ideas are so superior to those on the Left.  Yet they are the ones claiming to have the long term best interests of blacks at heart and that Tea Partiers are racist?  Leftists like that have no shame.

Two of my favorite role models

Last week I wrote about the importance of retirement plans — not the financial part, but the activity part.  We should never retire from Christian activities, though they may change over time.  We should finish strong, just like Moses, Joshua, Paul and so many others.  Don’t succumb to temptations.  Don’t destroy what you’ve worked so hard for.  Don’t sit back in self-indulgence.

Then on Saturday I was reminded of two of my favorite ministry role models.  I was doing a monthly visit as part of Kairos Prison Ministry and got to see Mike and Vic (pictures below).

You might think that white guys in their 80’s wouldn’t be able to connect with much younger guys (roughly 50% black, 25% Hispanic, 25% white), but you’d be wrong.  The prisoners seem to instantly bond with them and develop meaningful relationships over the course of the weekend and the follow-up sessions.  They have an authenticity and a genuine love that you just can’t miss.

They are as humble as can be, even though they are the most popular volunteers in the unit.  The prisoners go nuts whenever either one is introduced.

Neither are in perfect health, so they could just stay home on Saturday morning.  But month after month they get up early to come out and serve.  And when they work the Kairos weekends they work very long days, often getting to the prison at 6:30 a.m. and not leaving until 8:30 p.m.  But they do it with a smile and never complain.

They are both quick-witted and fun to listen to, having lived full and exciting lives.  Mike has been married for over 60 years (to the same woman, as he likes to add!), and I think Vic has been as well. I’ve seen Vic’s wife working on the outside teams during the weekends, and I’ve seen Mike’s wife come to the closing ceremonies.

These men never fail to encourage me.  If they can keep marriages intact for 60+ years and still love and serve in the name of Christ into their 80’s, so can I (God willing!).   This is how it is supposed to work.

Mike & Vic, I pray that God blesses you with the strength to serve many more years!

The upside to race-baiting hypocritical false teachers

Race-baiting false teacher Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie, who is pro-legalized abortion and wants taxpayer-funded abortions but hypocritically mentions Jesus’ concern for the “least of these” in many of his posts, demonstrates his usual hypocrisy in “Reactive mood”.

But is that a completely bad thing?  As irritating as his shrill and false commentaries are, it shows how desperate and stubborn the Progressives and fake Christians are.  Instead of realized that what people really objected to was pissing away almost $1,000,000,000,000 of their grandchildren’s money on Lefty political paybacks, the health care debacle with taxpayer-funded abortions, and so much more socialism, the Leftists are doubling down and insisting that what Obama needed to do was even more socialist actions.

Much of their analysis is correct but they ignore religious and racial factors that played into this election – not to mention the Supreme Court’s Citizen’s United ruling which allowed unprecedented amounts of cash (some of it secret) to flood the airways with dishonest advertising.

The donation thing is comical.  I don’t recall Chuck or the rest of the radical Left being concerned about the foreign money flowing to Obama.  And anyone who knows the facts and not the pathetic Chamber of Commerce sound bites (Did they Dems really try that pathetic move?) realizes that both sides get big $$ from many groups — sometimes the same groups.

And what does he mean by dishonest advertising?  The Democratic ads were some of the most vicious lies ever.  And since when did the serial, unrepentant liar care about the truth?  I never get tired of mocking him for pretending to care about that.

As noted, ‘much of the political response to the crisis has been reactive, fearful and off the mark” in this election cycle but that fear was fueled by well funded political machines that took advantage of racial animosity (illustrated so clearly by the Tea Party) and the natural fear that changes always brings.

Ah, the race card.  Chuck is usually busy playing that against black pastors (that is, until he realizes they are black, then he makes up a new story).

Hey Chuck & Co.: Did you support Marco Rubio in Florida?  How about the blacks that won?  If not, does that mean you are racist?  Did you support all the Republican women running?  If not, does that prove you are misogynistic?

Do you oppose taxpayer-funded abortions, which will increase the already-too-high ratio of black abortions to those of whites (currently 3-to-1, but that isn’t high enough for Chuck).

Keep playing the race card, Lefties.  We love to hear that concession speech.  We’re looking forward to picking up a few dozen more House and Senate seats in 2012.

Speaking of fear, I think it is pretty obvious who is afraid.
