Good pro-life news from Kenya

Abortion is the worst export from the West.  Thankfully, many countries are resisting this evil.  I have a real heart for Kenya after five mission trips and numerous dear friends there, so I was glad to see this: Kenya Pro-Lifers Defeat Western Effort to Expand Abortion.

When Kenyans voted on a new constitution in 2010, a massive publicity campaign – heavily funded by the Obama administration – assured voters it would not legalize abortion. In fact, “Life begins at conception” is in the constitution.

But the Constitution also allowed abortion in certain circumstances. Pro-lifers warned there would be more to come.

Abortion proponents, including those from the United States and Europe, drafted a set of policies for the Kenyan Ministry of Health that would have imposed abortion on the Kenyan medical system. The policies were rejected this week, according to a source close to the effort. Pro-lifers now want Kenyan legislators to denounce the attempt to expand abortion through the Ministry of Health.

What is truly despicable is how the Left is so pro-abortion that they borrowed money from our grandchildren to try to increase abortions in Kenya.

During the referendum for Kenya’s constitution, the Obama administration spent $18 million and directed U.S. personnel, including Peace Corp volunteers, to campaign for it. President Obama would visit Kenya, it was promised, if they passed the Constitution but he never did.

That’s what you should expect from a political party that is so pro-abortion that they want to increase abortions by removing restrictions and requiring taxpayer-funded abortions.  From the Democrats’ platform:

The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay. We oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.

If you voted for Obama and other Democrats then you are part of the problem.  Please reconsider your views.

Responding to the fallacious “Women’s Health Protection Act” rhetoric

BREAKING: Soon, Congressional Democrats plan to introduce the the Women’s Health Protection Act of 2013.

This is a critically important piece of legislation that will take the offensive against extreme social conservatives who want to curb a woman’s right to make her OWN choices about her OWN body.

As with nearly all pro-abortion arguments, this ignores the body of the unborn human being who gets crushed and dismembered during the abortion — just because she was unwanted. What about her rights?

And their offensive isn’t against extremists, it is against a significant majority of people opposed to late-term abortions.

And these same people aggressively fight to restrict your choices about guns, schools, food, healthcare, whether to fund abortions, etc.  And they don’t want medical workers to have a choice whether or not to participate in abortions.

The new bill would prohibit states from passing laws that create financial, logistical, and emotional barriers to women seeking reproductive health services.

Stop. Right. There.  Never let them use the deadly euphemism of “reproductive health.”  It is a scientific fact — and basic common sense — that a new human being is reproduced at fertilization (check out any mainstream embryology textbook).  So abortions kill human beings who have already been reproduced.

Some of these attempts include forcing women to undergo unnecessary medical procedures before having an abortion, such as forcefully inserting vaginal probes and requiring an ultrasound.

Are they trying to outlaw other procedures requiring ultrasounds?  If not, why not?  Don’t those help make the procedure more safe?  And if the probes are “forcefully inserted” then aren’t the tools for the abortions forcefully inserted in the same place?

PLEASE, take a moment and call your Senators and Representatives and urge them to support this critical legislation!! Then, SHARE this story with a friend and have them call too.

Yes, please contact them to save innocent human beings from being destroyed!

abort

The original link was from a Hillary Clinton Facebook page quoting her about the deceptive “safe, legal and rare” mantra. Hillary doesn’t want abortions to be rare. She thinks there aren’t enough of them, which is why she supports the Democrats’ platform of taxpayer-funded abortions: “The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay. We oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.”

That’s pro-abortion, not pro-choice.

The anti-science pro-abortion lobby visits MSNBC

Via MSNBC Talking Head Calls Babies “Things That Might Turn Into Humans” — a pro-abortion “expert” made the following anti-science claims:

Oh, no. That might be bad. I seemed to have popped open the fertilized egg. We’ll put that back together. But the very idea that this would constitute a person, right? And that some set of constitutional rights should come to this.  Look, I get that that is a particular kind of faith claim. It’s not associated with science. But the reality is that if this turns into a person, right, there are economic consequences, right? The cost to raise a child, $10,000 a year up to $20,000 a year. When you’re talking about what it actually costs to have this thing turn into a human, why not allow women to make the best choices that we can with as many resources and options instead of trying to come in and regulate this process?

The video didn’t show the response of the MSNBC hosts, but I doubt they told her how spectacularly she wrong she was on the scientific facts.

Pro-life reasoning is simple and accurate: It is a scientific fact (and basic common sense) that a new human being is created at fertilization.  It is simple moral reasoning that it is wrong to take the life of an innocent human being without proper justification, and that is what happens during 99% of abortions.  The situations surrounding abortions are psychologically complex (pressures on the mother to abort, economic concerns, etc.) but morally simple (you don’t kill unwanted humans outside the womb for those reasons, so you shouldn’t kill them inside the womb for those reasons).  Their size, level of development, location and degree of dependency are not reasons to ignore their right to life.

“Human development begins at fertilization, the process during which a male gamete or sperm (spermatozoo developmentn) unites with a female gamete or oocyte (ovum) to form a single cell called a zygote. This highly specialized, totipotent cell marked the beginning of each of us as a unique individual.”

“A zygote is the beginning of a new human being (i.e., an embryo).”

Keith L. Moore, The Developing Human: Clinically Oriented Embryology, 7th edition. Philadelphia, PA: Saunders, 2003. pp. 16, 2.

Note that we didn’t use religious reasoning there, though I’d be glad to share with her what God has to say in his revealed word!

She plays the typical pro-abortion word games of de-humanizing the unborn by claiming they aren’t persons, as if there was a meaningful distinction between human beings and persons and the distninction meant that the mother could have one killed but not the other.

per·son  [pur-suhn] noun

1. a human being, whether man, woman, or child: The table seats four persons.

2. a human being as distinguished from an animal or a thing.

My guess is that if you asked her if “people of faith” were anti-science she’d probably agree.  But who is really opposed to basic science and logic?

The ultimate bullying

As my brilliant wife noted, abortion is the ultimate bullying: A weak, defenseless, unwanted human being is literally destroyed.  The innocent victim is de-humanized and left completely unprotected.

Now the Democrats want it to be funded by taxpayers, including pro-lifers.  So they quit being “pro-choice” and are now completely pro-abortion.  They think that there aren’t enough abortions in our society and they want to force pro-lifers and religious organizations to pay for those abortions.  That is the opposite of choice.  It is also racist, as those abortions will certainly increase abortions in the black community beyond the current 3-to-1 ratio relative to whites.

You might think that is as extreme as you could get pro-abortion-wise, but that would mean you hadn’t read this: Ontario Catholic Schools Forbidden From Noticing That Abortion Is Wrong.  Yes, they consider it bullying to even mention pro-life reasoning in Catholic schools and they are glad to trample religious freedom and free speech.  This is what you get when you vote for Liberals.

Ontario Catholic Schools Forbidden From Noticing That Abortion Is Wrong

In case there is anyone who still doesn’t grasp that antibullying is a euphemism for imposing liberal totalitarianism, Ontario’s Minister of Education Laurel Broten spells it out (please excuse the butchered English):

“We do not allow and we’re very clear with the passage of Bill 13 that Catholic teachings cannot be taught in our schools that violates human rights and which brings a lack of acceptance to participation in schools,” she said. …

Asked for clarification she said again: “Bill 13 has in it a clear indication of ensuring that our schools are safe, accepting places for all our students. That includes of LGBTQ students. That includes young girls in our school. Bill 13 is about tackling misogyny, taking away a woman’s right to choose could arguably be one of the most misogynistic actions that one could take.”

No, the ultimate misogyny is gender-selection abortion, which is used almost exclusively to destroy female human beings for the sole reason that they are female human beings.

And note the morbid irony of claiming that it violates human rights to even speak against abortion, but it doesn’t violate human rights to crush and dismember innocent but unwanted human beings.

That is, Catholic schools will not be allowed to teach that it is morally wrong to take an innocent child’s life, due to the pro-abortion ideology of Canada’s moonbat rulers. Bill 13 is a sinister new antibullying law.

As always, I offer this simple anti-bullying policy for all schools.  Note how it doesn’t give special preferences to anyone.

If you physically or verbally harass other students on or off school grounds you will have swift and serious consequences. It doesn’t matter if you are bullying because they are gay/straight/fat/thin/smart/dumb/pretty/ugly/etc., or if it is just because you are a mean jerk.  Meeting adjourned.

Elections matter.  If you think that religious freedoms have eroded the last few years then just wait to see what happens if Obama is re-elected.

And run, don’t walk, from any “church” that is pro-abortion and encourages you to support the Democrats’ platform.  There is a remarkable correlation between their false views on life and their false views and scripture, Jesus’ divinity and exclusivity for salvation, and pretty much anything else that matters.

This is what real bullying looks like.

As always, remember that forgiveness and healing are possible for those who have participated in the abortion process.

Roe v Wade Roundup

“Ask Them What They Mean By ‘Choice’” Blog Day

The idea is simple. Any time any of us reads pro-aborts spouting their obscure “choice” rhetoric on a blog, website, Facebook, or Twitter, we call them out on it. We ask them to explain what the “choice” is.

Is it to eat carrots rather than broccoli? To wear red instead of blue? No, of course “choice” is code for killing babies. What’s their problem with the A-word?

Yes, this is a shameless scheme to suck oxygen out of the pro-aborts’ social media universe, to deny them any time whatsoever to support abortion without defending it.

Pro-lifers don’t help people after birth? Nonsense. As I’ve noted many times, pro-lifers do way more for the women before and after birth (and even post-abortion) than pro-legalized abortionists do.  They do it with their own time and money.

But note that they aren’t obliged to do so.  When the pro-aborts reflexively spout the “pro-lifers don’t help” canard, ask if they could speak out against infanticide even if they weren’t willing to adopt the children.

Also, if they are truly pro-choice and not pro-abortion, they would have the same obligation to help after birth.

Read the first chapter of Unplanned for free

Unplanned is a heart-stopping personal drama of life-and-death encounters, a courtroom battle, and spiritual transformation that speaks hope and compassion into the political controversy that surrounds this complex issue. Telling Abby’s story from both sides of the abortion clinic property line, this book is a must-read…

Regulators Ignored Killer Abortion Doc: Grand Jury – the pro-legalized abortionists hope this story goes away soon.  They try to feign outrage but they bitterly fight for the right to destroy the children just before birth.  How can they be so shocked that someone will finish the job when the abortion fails to deliver a dead baby?

What should be highlighted, but isn’t, is the faux outrage from the pro-choicers about this “doctor.”  Of course we know what he did was beyond reprehensible.  But their view is that his real crime was not doing the abortions right the first time.  Had he killed the babies literally minutes earlier everything would have been fine with them.

It is just another name for infanticide:

When Ruth Bader Ginsburg writes that partial-birth abortion (performed by delivering the baby in the breech position, stabbing it in the head with scissors with the neck lodged in the cervix, suctioning its brains out, and then delivering the corpse that had been alive moments earlier) is a constitutional right, she sanctions the murder of babies who have already been born – because those babies are no more human, no more special, than the ones who are fair targets.  As Abby Johnson wrote in her new book, “Unplanned”, while assisting in an abortion,

“But this time, the image was complete  I could see the entire, perfect profile of a baby. It looks just like Grace at 12 weeks, I thought, surprised, remembering my very first peek at my daughter, three years before, snuggled securely inside my womb.  The image before me now looked the same, only clearer, sharper.”

Respecting human life is not an optional part of a civilised society, which is why the “pro-choice” language is so fallacious.

Ironic title of the year from the Huffington Post (yeah, it is early in the year, but this one may still be tops come 12/31): Remember Roe v. Wade — and Stop the Violence (it was a pro-abortion piece, of course).  Uh, yes . . . the violence . . .

The comments there were a litany of bad pro-abortion bumper sticker reasoning.

These are simple, essential ways to protect women’s health. Thank you! It’s baffling to me that a simple medical procedure produces so much violence and controversy.

This procedure kills an innocent human being. That is a scientific fact.

It’s hard to believe that we still have to fight for our right to reproductive freedom.

That is an argument against someone saying you shouldn’t have the right to use birth control. In the case of abortion, one has already reproduced a human being. So this has nothing to do with reproductive freedom.

Link arms shout out loud, stay away from my medical decisions! This is mine, my family and my doctors business.

As with nearly all pro-abortion arguments, this ignores the unborn human being who gets destroyed.

Amanda Marcotte: Hey, let’s blame another mass murder on conservatives – You have to be super-duper-pro-abortion to try and pin the Philly doctor murders on pro-lifers.

How much evidence do we need to know that a “No strings attached” sex culture will lead to pain, misery and death?

So much bad pro-abortion reasoning, so little time

As evidence that some people get older without getting wiser, this pro-abortion post by an elderly woman and the accompanying  comments section trotted out one fallacious sound bite after another. I noticed it because it linked to my site somehow.

I could have spent hours there but just left the comment below. No use spending too much time in an echo chamber.  They actually seem to think that their bumper sticker mentality makes sense.

The indented parts are comments from the post and the rest is what I wrote.

Like my husband says, “Whether or not to have a child is a woman’s choice. Period. End of story.”

That ignores that a female is destroyed 50% of the time during an abortion. Actually, over 50%, since virtually all gender selection abortions are performed to kill females for the sole reason that they are female. It is the ultimate misogyny.

All your back-slapping sound bites ignore a scientific fact: A new human being is created at conception — http://tinyurl.com/yfje8lq . That isn’t religion, that is science. And abortion destroys that innocent human being.

And how those a-holes have the gall to call themselves ‘pro-life’ when they are calling for death to anyone who is pro-choice is beyond me.

That is a straw man argument. I know it is convenient to demonize your opponents instead of addressing their arguments, but really now — all pro-lifers call for the death of any pro-choicers? C’mon.

For some women it is a time of great sadness – a pregnancy gone wrong, a wanted child not to be.

Using that logic one could support infanticide.

Against abortion? Don’t have one.

Slave owners used the same nonsensical argument. It is like saying, “Don’t like theft? Then don’t steal.” Once again you ignore the human being in the equation who gets killed.

Have you ever noticed that anti-abortionists don’t give a damn about the baby once it’s out of the womb? That’s when all interest in life ceases with these folks.

I hadn’t noticed that. There are more crisis pregnancy centers than abortion clinics, and they offer their services for free — unlike Planned Parenthood, who charges $400 for abortions no matter how poor you are.

And even if we did nothing to help with our time and money, we could still protest the destruction of innocent human life. If the government was going to solve the homeless problem by killing homeless people, could you protest that without having to take them into your house?

Planned Parenthood hides statutory rape again

Deja vu deja vu deja vu . . .

Yep, they got caught on video again.

Pro-lifer Lila Rose, 20 years old, went to a PP clinic in Alabama, posed as a 14 year old girl who became pregnant by her 31 year old boyfriend.  When Rose asks for an abortion, the PP worker she talks with says she needs parental consent.  Ok, so far so good…that’s a better start than the other clinics that have been caught willing to break the law.

But then Rose balks, saying her parents can’t know.  She reveals the reason: her boyfriend is 31.  Alabama state law requires health care officials to disclose cases of adult-child sex to the proper authorities.  The PP worker assures Rose, “as long as you consented to having sex with him, there’s nothing we can truly do about that.”

PPPPHHTTTT!!!

Wait, it gets better.  Tanisha, the PP worker, then proceeds to tell Rose that the clinic manager, Dr. Desiree Bates, “sometimes bends the rules a little bit…whatever you say stays within these walls…we can’t disclose any information to anybody.”

But they are getting smarter (?).  They posted Lila Rose’s picture so clinic counselors would know when she is coming in.  That is classic. I wonder if the caption says, “Do not hide statutory rapists for this girl.  But keep up the standard practice for the rest of the underaged victims.”

Remember, this is your tax $ at work.  And to think, many Christians (must . . . resist . . . urge . . . to use . . . scare quotes) support Planned Parenthood.  Pathetic.

Oh, and once again the mainstream media ignores this.

P.S. Remember when Planned Parenthood was pro-life?

Roundup

Wichita Pro-Life Group Attacked, Police Shrug and Pro-lifer dodges SUV driven by pro-abortionist — Hmmmm . . . why aren’t we hearing more about this from the MSM?  Because it doesn’t fit the stereotypes and the agenda?

Speaking of the MSM, I wonder if they’ll cover this Duke rape case as thoroughly as they did the one with the Lacrosse players (this one involves a member of a white homosexual couple sexually offering up his adopted 5 yr. old son for sex).

They aren’t off to a good start.

The Associate Press (AP) did not mention the fact that the five-year old offered up for molestation was black. Bringing that fact to light might be damaging to the political coalition that exists between blacks and gays. Nor did the AP mention that the adopted child is being raised by a homosexual couple. Bringing that fact to light might harm the gay adoption movement.

Randy Alcorn on Counting the Cost of Sexual Immorality — we discussed adultery in a recent Roundup about Mark Sanford and I thought Randy’s advice was outstanding.  He has a list of all the anticipated consequences of sexual immorality for him.  Great reminders.  Read the whole thing.

  • Grieving my Lord; displeasing the One whose opinion most matters.
  • Dragging into the mud Christ’s sacred reputation.
  • Loss of reward and commendation from God.
  • Having to one day look Jesus in the face at the judgment seat and give an account of why I did it. Forcing God to discipline me in various ways.
  • Following in the footsteps of men I know of whose immorality forfeited their ministry and caused me to shudder. List of these names:
  • Suffering of innocent people around me who would get hit by my shrapnel (a la Achan).
  • Untold hurt to Nanci, my best friend and loyal wife.
  • Loss of Nanci’s respect and trust.
  • Hurt to and loss of credibility with my beloved daughters, Karina and Angela. (“Why listen to a man who betrayed Mom and us?”)
  • If my blindness should continue or my family be unable to forgive, I could lose my wife and my children forever.
  • And more . . .

John Piper on Why I Don’t Have a Television and Rarely Go to Movies

I have a high tolerance for violence, high tolerance for bad language, and zero tolerance for nudity. There is a reason for these differences. The violence is make-believe. They don’t really mean those bad words. But that lady is really naked, and I am really watching. And somewhere she has a brokenhearted father.

    . . .

But leave sex aside (as if that were possible for fifteen minutes on TV). It’s the unremitting triviality that makes television so deadly. What we desperately need is help to enlarge our capacities to be moved by the immeasurable glories of Christ. Television takes us almost constantly in the opposite direction, lowering, shrinking, and deadening our capacities for worshiping Christ.

One more smaller concern with TV (besides its addictive tendencies, trivialization of life, and deadening effects): It takes time. I have so many things I want to accomplish in this one short life. Don’t waste your life is not a catchphrase for me; it’s a cliff I walk beside every day with trembling.

I don’t watch much TV anymore but I do watch a little more than in recent years.  That is a good reminder.

    One of Satan’s big schemes

baby1.jpgI heard about a ministry called Abortion Changes You on a Stand to Reason Podacst.  They share many stories about how it doesn’t just impact the women involved, but the men and other family members as well.  One woman told her boyfriend they couldn’t go to church because they had committed a big sin.

The founder’s story reminded me of one of Satan’s great schemes.  He helps women rationalize abortion.  Then he helps them un-rationalize it so they realize the enormity of what they’ve done.

Then he convinces them they can’t talk to pro-choicers about their guilt, because after all, they didn’t do anything wrong.  So why feel guilty?  The pro-choicers know deep down that abortion is wrong but don’t want to admit that to the hurting women.  But the women (and men) know they are guilty.

But he also convinces them not to talk to pro-lifers.  After all, they are the enemy and would just condemn them, right?

I suppose some on the side of life might condemn a woman who had an abortion, but I know a “few” pro-lifers and none come to mind who fit that description.  They are armed with the powerful and true message of forgiveness, hope and healing that can only come from Jesus.  One of the most important ministries offered at CareNet Pregnancy Center is the post-abortion trauma class.

I wish more churches offered such classes.  In the mean time, we continue to partner with churches to send hurting people to CareNet.

Whether you have participated in the abortion process or not, don’t believe the lies.

John 8:44  You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

    Weekly roundup

So what was the rush to treat little girls like lab rats?  Seems that the HPV vaccine isn’t all it was advertised to be.  Something to remember the next time the gov’t rushes in to trample parental rights.

I was tagged by 4 Pointer with these questions:

Question 1. If you were to be in ministry 10 years from now (whether you’re in ministry now or not) what would you like to be doing and where?

We’re all ministers to some extent.  I’d like to be retired from my CPA/Finance/Audit career and doing lots of volunteer things – teaching, mission trips, Kairos prison ministry, enjoying family, etc.  Basically the same things I’m doing now, just more of them.

Question 2. If you could wake up tomorrow with a degree and all the learning that would have gone with it from any seminary which one would you pick and why?

Gordon Conwell.  I’ve heard good things about it, and it is a conservative, Bible-believing seminary in the Northeast.

Question 3. What’s your poison: donuts, beer, wine, pizza, chocolate, twinkies, key-lime pie?

Hazelnut creamer in my coffee.  LOTS of it.   And mayonnaise wherever I can use it.

I’m supposed to think of 5 others to tag but don’t want to play favorites, so consider yourself tagged.

Obama is lying about others lying– will the MSM check the facts and let voters know his real stand on abortion, partial birth abortion (aka infanticide) and his opposition to the Born Alive Infants Protection Act?

Obama wants change . . . except when it comes to abortion as birth control, inside the womb or outside it.

    Obama wants you . . .

    • to pay for abortion!
    • to sanction the killing of infants born alive!
    • to believe that pregnancy is a “punishment”!
    • to accept partial birth abortion!
    • to forget his close association with radical abortion groups like NARAL and PP!
    • to endorse liberal activist Supreme Court Judges that support abortion in the 9th month!
    • to embrace a culture of death!
