I agree with the “bro-choice” guy on one thing . . .

. . . that some men like abortions because they think it improves their sex lives.  Via “BroChoice:” Man Complains Casual Sex More Difficult if Abortions Banned:

This week, Ben Sherman, a pro-abortion boy, took to his blog to explain the #brochoice movement.

He wrote that if abortion isn’t readily accessible, especially in his state of Texas, men’s sex lives are at stake. It was the ultimate form of male-chauvinism, yet NARAL and other pro-abortion women’s groups took to Twitter in support of the campaign.

Can’t believe this actually happened? Here’s what Sherman wrote to other men as to why they should be #brochoice:

“Forcing women to adhere to the anti-choice attitudes of state legislators forces men to do the same, and will have serious consequences both on men’s lives and lifestyles.”

“Your sex life is at stake. Can you think of anything that kills the vibe faster than a woman fearing a back-alley abortion? Making abortion essentially inaccessible in Texas will add an anxiety to sex that will drastically undercut its joys. And don’t be surprised if casual sex outside of relationships becomes far more difficult to come by.”

I appreciate his honesty.  His creepy, deadly, wimpy honesty.  He will gladly have innocent but unwanted human beings destroyed so his sex life can be just a little bit better.  He is a boy, not a man.

Women, don’t buy the lie that pro-lifers are anti-women.  Remember this “bro-choice” reasoning and know the real reasons lots of young males support abortion rights.  The early feminists knew this.  You should, too.  These guys do not care about you.

And remember this when pro-aborts try to silence pro-life men just because they are men.  If pro-aborts really thought that you must have a uterus to weigh in on abortions then they would dismiss the views of all men.  But when they gladly accept “bro-choice” support it shows that they are just using a rhetorical trick to silence their opposition.

These pictures were posted on a “NARAL Pro-choice America” Flicker page. Seriously!

NARAL Pro-Choice America is a pro-abortion organization that asked people to send pictures holding a “Stop the war on women” sign.  It was pure hyperbole designed to accuse those who favor de-funding Planned Parenthood of being anti-women.  Among other things, that ignores that many pro-lifers are women and that nearly all gender selection abortions kill females for the sole reason that they are female.  It also falsely implies that other organizations can’t do cancer screenings or dispense birth control.

But here’s the good news:  Their instructions let anyone send in photos to their Flicker page.  Most of the current pages are from pro-lifers, as shown below.  I saw some great slogans, such as “Life begins at conception and ends at Planned Parenthood” and “If it’s not a baby, you’re not pregnant.”

You can post pictures yourself.  It is very easy: Just send an email to hall33ready@photos.flickr.com and attach pro-life pictures.  Whatever you put in the subject line of the email will be the caption.

I was honored to send in the Wintery Knight’s heroic Unborn Scheming Baby with his caption: “Unborn baby scheming about being worth a thousand words.  Stop the war on the unborn!”

Always remember

It is a scientific fact that the unborn are unique, living human beings from conception.  Abortion kills those human beings and is therefore immoral except to save the life of the mother.

Abortion is a sin but forgiveness and healing can be found in Jesus.

Roundup

Be sure to check out the new blog by Duane and Mathew, The Aristophrenium.  I’m not sure what the title means, as Dictionary.com not only didn’t recognize the word but wondered if I really meant to search for “iris diaphragm.”  Uh, yeah, that’s what I meant to type . . .

Seriously, these guys are great and their blog is off to a good start.

I’m pretty sure some pigs flew today.  Even the NY Times realized that the opposition to the Tim Tebow Super Bowl ad by NOW, NARAL and other pro-abortion organizations is misguided.

Back to reality: Dem. Senators Spent Weekend with Bank, Energy, Tobacco Lobbyists — That can’t be right.  I thought only Republicans did that sort of thing.

Many of Obama’s religioius supporters are jumping ship — they seem to have figured out that they were being used.  But many were fakes, anyway, as they were just politicians masquerading as Christians.

Worst pro-legalized abortion argument ever: The unborn are parasites!

Some pro-legalized abortions take the view that technically speaking the unborn are parasites and that they are fair game for destruction because they are dependent on the mother and consume some of her resources.  As weird as that argument is I actually like when they present it.  I think that middle grounders will immediately realize what a horribly wrong attempt it is to de-humanize the unborn.

A commenter on another blog wrote this as a defense:

What that means is, if you give someone permission to touch your body, that permission can be withdrawn at any time

Here’s a good question to pose to those advancing the parasite argument:

As transparently deficient as the parasite argument is (two humans don’t create a non-human parasite that later becomes a human), when do you propose that abortions be illegal, if ever?

Please answer this with a yes/no: If a baby has been delivered but the umbilical cord has not been cut — i.e., that awful, awful parasite of “unknown” origin is still greedily sucking nutrients from the defenseless mother — is it OK to kill the baby?

Do you know of any other parasites that change into humans?

Previous informaton on the parasite argument

As usual, pro-life apologist extraordinaire Theobromophile provided an excellent response (emphasis added).  This one is a keeper to use when you see this argument pop up at other sites.

By that line of reasoning, a woman would be totally justified in killing her baby a day before its due date.

That absurdity aside, their analysis fails (at least legally, if not morally). While you are never responsible for keeping someone else alive, you are responsible for doing so if you created the situation in which they are dependent upon you. The classic example is a person who is drowning in the ocean. You, as a boater with a life preserver, are under no obligation to help them out of the water. If, however, you were the one who chucked her overboard, then watched her drown, you can bet that a jury would convict your immoral butt for murder, not for ruining her clothes by getting her wet.

Likewise, you are under no obligation to give a dying person a kidney to save his life, but, if you ripped his kidneys out of his body, you would be charged with murder if he died from those injuries. If the only way to avoid his death is to give him your kidneys, you can bet that your options are to fork over an organ or be charged with murder.

Just saying.

Obama’s pro-abortion extremism

baby1.jpgI highly recommend this article by Robert George, where he clearly and emphatically annihilates the myth that Obama will reduce or even try to reduce abortions.

If more people would have understood these facts before the election things might have been different.  But just because he will be our President doesn’t mean we shouldn’t continue to convey the truth on this crucial topic.

George starts by showing that while some people might be charitably considered “pro-choice,” many are not pro-choice at all.  They are pro-abortion, and Obama fits that category — just as someone who claimed to be pro-legalized slavery could be fairly described as pro-slavery even if he didn’t own slaves himself.

Some samples:

Just for the sake of argument, though, let us assume that there could be a morally meaningful distinction between being “pro-abortion” and being “pro-choice.” Who would qualify for the latter description? Barack Obama certainly would not. For, unlike his running mate Joe Biden, Obama does not think that abortion is a purely private choice that public authority should refrain from getting involved in. Now, Senator Biden is hardly pro-life. He believes that the killing of the unborn should be legally permitted and relatively unencumbered. But unlike Obama, at least Biden has sometimes opposed using taxpayer dollars to fund abortion, thereby leaving Americans free to choose not to implicate themselves in it. If we stretch things to create a meaningful category called “pro-choice,” then Biden might be a plausible candidate for the label; at least on occasions when he respects your choice or mine not to facilitate deliberate feticide.

The same cannot be said for Barack Obama. For starters, he supports legislation that would repeal the Hyde Amendment, which protects pro-life citizens from having to pay for abortions that are not necessary to save the life of the mother and are not the result of rape or incest. The abortion industry laments that this longstanding federal law, according to the pro-abortion group NARAL, “forces about half the women who would otherwise have abortions to carry unintended pregnancies to term and bear children against their wishes instead.” In other words, a whole lot of people who are alive today would have been exterminated in uterowere it not for the Hyde Amendment. Obama has promised to reverse the situation so that abortions that the industry complains are not happening (because the federal government is not subsidizing them) would happen. That is why people who profit from abortion love Obama even more than they do his running mate.

But this barely scratches the surface of Obama’s extremism. He has promised that “the first thing I’d do as President is sign the Freedom of Choice Act” (known as FOCA). This proposed legislation would create a federally guaranteed “fundamental right” to abortion through all nine months of pregnancy, including, as Cardinal Justin Rigali of Philadelphia has noted in a statement condemning the proposed Act, “a right to abort a fully developed child in the final weeks for undefined ‘health’ reasons.” In essence, FOCA would abolish virtually every existing state and federal limitation on abortion, including parental consent and notification laws for minors, state and federal funding restrictions on abortion, and conscience protections for pro-life citizens working in the health-care industry-protections against being forced to participate in the practice of abortion or else lose their jobs. The pro-abortion National Organization for Women has proclaimed with approval that FOCA would “sweep away hundreds of anti-abortion laws [and] policies.”

It gets worse. Obama, unlike even many “pro-choice” legislators, opposed the ban on partial-birth abortions when he served in the Illinois legislature and condemned the Supreme Court decision that upheld legislation banning this heinous practice. He has referred to a baby conceived inadvertently by a young woman as a “punishment” that she should not endure. He has stated that women’s equality requires access to abortion on demand. Appallingly, he wishes to strip federal funding from pro-life crisis pregnancy centers that provide alternatives to abortion for pregnant women in need. There is certainly nothing “pro-choice” about that.

But it gets even worse. Senator Obama, despite the urging of pro-life members of his own party, has not endorsed or offered support for the Pregnant Women Support Act, the signature bill of Democrats for Life, meant to reduce abortions by providing assistance for women facing crisis pregnancies. In fact, Obama has opposed key provisions of the Act, including providing coverage of unborn children in the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (S-CHIP), and informed consent for women about the effects of abortion and the gestational age of their child. This legislation would not make a single abortion illegal. It simply seeks to make it easier for pregnant women to make the choice not to abort their babies. Here is a concrete test of whether Obama is “pro-choice” rather than pro-abortion. He flunked. Even Senator Edward Kennedy voted to include coverage of unborn children in S-CHIP. But Barack Obama stood resolutely with the most stalwart abortion advocates in opposing it.
