The “No Nukes” crowd: Still clueless

Via World Council of Churches Praises United States For Ratification of New Start Treaty by false teacher Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie, the World Council of (mostly apostate) Churches expresses their ridiculously naive worldview:

Progress is long overdue on another step that President Obama and many other leaders link to the vision of a world without nuclear weapons – a treaty to stop production of fuel for nuclear bombs. It has been stalled at the Conference on Disarmament here in Geneva for years. In nuclear disarmament as in climate change, when powerful countries provide leadership with accountability their example helps others to do likewise.

Sure.  Because you can totally trust countries like Iran and N. Korea. Even if they signed treaties, how would you enforce them?  They’d have the nukes and you wouldn’t.

National Defense should be left to adults who have a biblical worldview.  Those people don’t trust what Jesus said about the world, but that’s no surprise.  Those people think Jesus endorses sodomy and crushing and dismembering innocent human beings if they are unwanted.

Peace through strength, people.

Update: Some views by a Navy Vice Admiral

President Barack Obama was outmaneuvered by the Russians and should have abandoned the New START negotiations instead of seeking a political victory, says former nuclear plans monitor Vice Admiral Jerry Miller, USN (Ret).

Texas doctors opting out of Medicare at alarming rate — just more of the Law of Unintended Consequences at work.  Guess what? If the government makes bad laws and tries to stiff people then behavior changes.  But of course, the 2,000+ page health care bill that none of its supporters actually read won’t have any negative consequences . . .

Naked liberalism: The desire for Congressional mandates to have conservative web sites link to liberal sites. Give it a listen.  It is ridiculous on multiple levels.  Aside from the pesky un-Constitutionality, how would you possibly measure and enforce it?

What is morbidly ironic is Obama’s chiding to listen to opposing views.  That is a two-way street.  I love asking liberals how much conservative media they consume (other than the extremely well informed Libs that hang out here ;-)).  It is usually something in the neighborhood of zero.

Also fun is asking them to state your positions, even though they disagree with you.  For example, I know all the most popular pro-abortion arguments and am glad to debunk them.  No straw men required.  But it is very rare to see a pro-abort be able to articulate the views of pro-lifers, even though they disagree with them.

Check out Roxanne’s post on Throwing Women Under the Socialist/Progressive Bus.  Just a sample:

Then there’s the complete disregard for women’s health and well-being.  The Left is furious that crisis pregnancy centres do not provide abortions nor refer women to them; nevertheless, they seem to not care that Planned Parenthood promotes abortion and will refuse to provide adoption referrals and gives almost no prenatal care to pregnant women.

The Left cares no more about women’s health than about their reproductive autonomy. Although the link between abortion and breast cancer has been well-established (and studies that find anything else are methodologically unsound ), Obama’s change.org toutedRep. Harry Waxman’s report which criticised crisis pregnancy centres for mentioning the connection – and justified themselves with one single report from 1997.  They also claim that women who abort do not experience future fertility problems, despite the fact that women who have abortions are three times as likely to deliver a premature baby in the future,first-trimester abortions are associated with a higher rate of subsequent miscarriages, and abortion can cause infertility, PID, and a host of other problems.  The Leftist’s claim that abortion does not cause psychological distress would be comical, if not for the horrible pain that women experience post-abortion.

Brrrr… Scientists Issue New Warning of Imminent Food & Ethanol Shortages Due to Global Cooling – Shocking!  But those scientists couldn’t be wrong.  Hat tip: Wes

It is truly a bizarre, upside down world in international politics: Iran was elected to the United Nation’s Commission on the Status of Women.

Then the U.S. representative apologizes to China for our “human rights abuses” in Arizona.  Hey, just ask China what they do if people come into their country without paperwork and demand free food, clothing and education.  Ask them about the North Korean refugees they send back to certain brutal deaths.

And more and more Obama representatives admit they haven’t even read Arizona’s bill — even though they condemn it.

Great response from Arizona to Los Angeles over their boycott — Paraphrase: “Hey, we supply 25% of your power, so if you are serious about your convictions then we’ll send the electrons elsewhere.

Hillbuzz on Ann Coulter: Priceless.  We live in strange times.  Here are some tidbits.

Now, for just a moment, appreciate the Bizarroworld we currently live in:

(1) We are gay guys in Boystown who, until 2008, detested Ann Coulter

(2) We are now reading Ann Coulter

(3) We agree with every damn word Ann Coulter says

(4) Sometimes, we think we’ve actually moved to the right of Ann Coulter

We’re still the same guys we always were, except that our eyes opened to the lies the DNC always sold us about Republicans and conservatives in general.

If the DNC has permanently alienated guys like us — who never in their lives thought they’d be reading and agreeing with Ann Coulter — then the Democrat Party is as good as Whig already.

The current Socialist-Democrat party has no moderates.  It is 100% lefty, baby.  And its PC-policies towards Muslims — those misunderstood murdering Care Bears — are going to get an awful lot of people killed, once the Religion of Peace stops sending its B-team to blow things up and dispatches operatives who know how to work clocks and who can successfully light their underoos and diapers on fire.

We now love Coulter so much, she just might make us straight.

David fired up his blog again — great stuff, especially for someone who just finished his first year of college!

I used to think that a triple-X domain for p*rn would help with that awful problem provided that it got it off the .com domain, as it would make it easier to filter bad sites.  But the efforts to make that happen go the wrong direction.  Too bad our gutless, paid-off politicians of both parties do nothing to enforce existing laws (kinda like the border situation).

Half of abortions done to foster care girls are by a judge’s order — Truly twisted.  Abortion is the opposite of justice.

Obama [Administration] Removed Faisal Shahzad From Terror Surveillance List Before Attack

Sources tell CBS News that would-be Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad appeared on a Department of Homeland Security travel lookout list – Traveler Enforcement Compliance System (TECS) –between 1999 and 2008 because he brought approximately $80,000 cash or cash instruments into the United States.

The person who killed 14 people at Ft Hood last fall was one such suspect whose JTTF investigation was suspiciously shut down around this time last year.

Our luck may run out soon . . .

Iran Gains Seat on UN Commission on the Status of Women. Obama Administration Silent — Fox, meet henhouse.  Why no complaints from the major feminist groups?  Is this another one of those Clinton-style things where as long as someone is pro-abortion the “feminists” will never criticize him?

At least 32 African-American Republicans running for Congress this year — Oops, someone forgot to tell them we’re racists.  Seriously, I hope the scales start tipping and more blacks realize that the Democrats have done nothing but hold them down for many decades.  Liberals are all for the “choices” that result in black abortion rates being three times as high as whites, but opposed to school choice that would help more blacks succeed.  That’s just one example of many.   Need more?  Go visit Detroit, the petri dish of Liberal politics, education and unions.

Excellent points by Pastor Timothy on Franklin Graham’s dis-invitation to the Pentagon.  I’m with Timothy on the National Day of Prayer (“meh”) but isn’t it sort of a “duh” statement for a Christian minister to think Islam is false?  If he thought Islam was true, wouldn’t he become a Muslim?  Are the Imams required to say Christianity is true?

A Reformed Evanjellybean Reconsiders Lent — by Marie

That insane pilot sounds kind of like a tea partier, huh? — Only if you ignore his closing comments and the other Bush-bashing, as the Washington Post did:

The communist creed: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

The capitalist creed: From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed.

Doesn’t sound tea-partier-ish to me.

19 points that undermine the claims of global warming alarmists — only 19?

Iran is a nuclear power, just as predicated by President Bush in 2007.  Olbermann et al mocked him and supported Iran’s leader.  I’m sure they’ll be apologizing any time now . . .

Great commentary on Santa Claus theology — i.e., Liberal theology

But on the basis of Santa Claus theology, sins create no problem, and atonement becomes needless; God’s active favor extends no less to those who disregard his commands than to those who keep them.  The idea that God’s attitude to me is affected by whether or not do what He says has no place in the thought of the man on the street, and any attempt to show the need for fear in God’s presence, for trembling at His word, gets written off as impossibly old-fashioned–’Victorian,’ ‘Puritan,’ and ’sub-Christian.’

Yet the Santa Claus theology carries within itself the seeds of its own collapse, for it cannot cope with the fact of evil.

Obama to Iran: Stop laughing, we’re serious! — This is what happens when you elect people like Obama.

As another deadline approaches for Iran to demonstrate its willingness to abandon the nuclear weapons it so clearly desires, both sides have reacted in a predictable manner.  The US reminded Iran that this time we are really, really, really super-serious about it, while Iran scoffs at the threat.  In fact, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Iran has grown “10 times stronger” on Barack Obama’s watch.

Ben Nelson, the Senator who was bribed into voting for taxpayer-funded abortions, displays more of that integrity when switching his vote on that type of bribe once he realized the Democrats had enough votes to win without him.  Classy.

I think that James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles should be the People of the Year winners for outing ACORN.  The mainstream media did their best to ignore it and missed countless opportunities to do some real journalism and investigate ACORN themselves.

White House Says “Have A Wonderful Socialist Transvestite Christmas” — I am not making this up: The White House “Christmas” tree had ornaments with a drag queen, Chairman Mao and Obama on Mt. Rushmore.  I’d like to think that those who voted for Obama would deeply regret it, but I’ve found that they tend to be as uninformed about what he has done since the election as they were about what he did before the election.
