The newest enemy of the LGBTQX movement: The American College of Pediatrics

Via Reason 195: Because The Institution Harms Your Childrens | 365 Reasons To Homeschool

So here we have a story from the American College Of Pediatrics that will send elites and their minions scurrying for safe places. Evidently this organization doesn’t realized that it’s sinning against elitism to publish such heretical studies.Gender Ideology Harms ChildrenThe article is a list of common sense statements based on what, in a more sane time, was obvious. It also delves into the dangers of diabolical social/medical experimentation on children who exhibit what adults interpret as “gender confusion”.Here are few of its points:

1. Human sexuality is an objective biological binary trait: “XY” and “XX” are genetic markers of health – not genetic markers of a disorder.

3. A person’s belief that he or she is something they are not is, at best, a sign of confused thinking.

4. Puberty is not a disease and puberty-blocking hormones can be dangerous.

6. Children who use puberty blockers to impersonate the opposite sex will require cross-sex hormones in late adolescence. Cross-sex hormones are associated with dangerous health risks including but not limited to high blood pressure, blood clots, stroke and cancer.

8. Conditioning children into believing a lifetime of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex is normal and healthful is child abuse.

How long will it be until the full weight of the Gaystapo comes down on these professional doctors and bludgeons them into lying?  Hopefully that will never happen, but it wouldn’t be without precedent.

I’ve been blogging over 10 years and everything I predicted about the spread of the LGBTQX agenda has been right — expect the trans thing. I naively thought that parents would have enough guts to say, “OK, you bullied me into pretending that ‘same-sex marriage’ was a real thing, and I was too wimpy to protest you teaching pro-gay evils to my kids. But enough is enough! There is no way you are going to tell my 5 yr. old boy that he might not “really” be a boy or to let grown men be in the bathroom with my daughter.”

But here we are with this over-the-top wickedness – aided and abetted by the “Christian” Left.

By definition, something is wrong with transgender people.  While some may think that is mean, Captain Obvious says it couldn’t be more factual.  If something weren’t wrong, then why would they want to undergo a radical surgery to change themselves? The question is whether the body is wrong or whether the mind is wrong.  I suggest working on the mind part, which would be much less expensive and destructive.

If an anorexic person insisted she was overweight even though every medical fact indicated otherwise, would it be hateful to tell her she wasn’t fat? Would it be loving to encourage her desire to lose more weight?  It is the same thing with trans people.  Encouraging their delusion isn’t loving.  In other words, if the winner of the 1976 Men’s Olympic Decathlon was “really” a female, then Karen Carpenter was fat.

I thank God that those at the American College of Pediatrics had the guts to speak the truth.  Hopefully others will be inspired not to bow to the transanity movement.

It is 2016 and the “Christian” Left is still using the fallacious “Jesus never said anything about LGBTQX” line

The argument that “Jesus didn’t say anything about homosexual behavior so it must be OK” is so fallacious on so many levels and debunked so regularly that you’d think the “Christian” Left would have some semblance of dignity and stop using it.  But here we are.  I continue to see it regularly on blogs.  Those who use it are either wildly ignorant of the refutations, presumably because they live in a deadly “Christian” Left cocoon, or they know it is false but use it anyway.  They serve the Father of Lies, after all.  The saying is used to rationalize abortion as well.

Here’s an overview of how to respond, though I encourage you to read it all.  Feel free to copy or link all you like.

  • Arguing from silence is a logical fallacy
  • Jesus is God, so He inspired all scripture — not just the “red letters” (the direct quotes of Jesus in the New Testament)
  • He supported the Old Testament to the last letter
  • The “red letters” weren’t silent on these topics in the sense that they reiterated what marriage and murder were
  • He emphasized many other important issues that these liberal theologians completely ignore (Hell, his divinity, his exclusivity, etc.)
  • He was equally “silent” on issues that these folks treat as having the utmost importance (capital punishment, war, welfare, universal health care, etc.)
  • Abortion and homosexual behavior simply weren’t hot topics for 1st century Jews
  • He did mention Sodom and Gomorrah

For self-proclaimed Christians to (mis)quote the red letters and to commit the logical fallacy of arguing from silence is negligent and foolish.  They are distorting the Bible and hurting the church and its witness.

—–

cross3.jpgLifeSite News reported that Dr. Bob Edgar, former general secretary of the National Council of Churches, said “Jesus never said one word about homosexuality, never said one word about civil marriage or abortion.” He said this to CBS News at a gathering of liberal Christian leaders in Washington.

Sadly, this is a common sound bite from people who should know better. Their reasoning goes like this:

  • Whatever Jesus did not specifically condemn in the Bible is morally permissible or unimportant.
  • In the Bible, Jesus did not specifically condemn abortion or homosexual behavior.
  • Therefore, abortion and homosexual behavior are morally permissible or unimportant.

There are many problems with this reasoning.

1. As you may have noticed, their logic goes off track in the first bullet.  Direct quotes of Jesus also didn’t specifically mention gay-bashing, slavery, drunk driving, child sacrifice, and many other sins, but they are still sins.  They are arguing from silence, and that is a logical fallacy.

Some insist that since Jesus didn’t specifically condemn oxymoronic “same sex marriages” that they must be permissible.  Jesus also never talked about square circles, partly because they don’t exist either.

2. Jesus is God (and anyone such as Edgar should know that), so He authored all the moral laws in the Bible – including the crystal-clear ones against homosexual behavior and murder. And He created the institution of marriage and desribed what parents should do, of which 100% of the verses refer to the ideal as a one man/one woman union.

3. Many of the “red letters” (direct quotes of Jesus) referred to the “black letters” (the rest of the Bible).  Jesus noted in Matthew 5:17-19 that He supported all the law.

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

4. He may not have specifically mentioned abortion and homosexual behavior because they weren’t hot topics for his primarily Jewish audience.  Homosexuals were a tiny minority then just as they are now (less than 3% of the U.S. population) and the Jews had strict laws against such behavior.  Regarding abortion, Jews actually saw children as a blessing and not a curse, so they had no desire to destroy them.  I am not aware of any Jewish movements at the time advancing these behaviors as not being sinful.  Under no circumstances were these issues dividing the followers as they are today.

Having said that, Jesus was not silent on oxymoronic “same sex marriage.” He clearly stated what marriage was in Mark 10:6-9 and elsewhere, to the exclusion of other scenarios:

But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.

He describes exactly what the plan was, and doesn’t even hint at other possibilities. He didn’t say you couldn’t marry animals either, but I don’t see anyone saying bestiality must be acceptable because He didn’t specifically prohibit it.  So there was no silence.

Regarding abortion, He reiterated that we shouldn’t murder and noted that the real meaning of the command was deeper than the physical act.

Think about this: It took almost 2,000 years and a several decades long perverted sexual revolution that repeatedly denies and mocks the Biblical worldview of human sexuality plus a massive, well funded pro-gay public relations campaign to convince some liberals that oxymoronic “same sex marriages” should have government recognition and that abortion should be legal.  Yet liberal theologians think that it is something Jesus should have addressed in more detail back then?  Even the pagan Hippocratic oath had prohibitions against abortions until just recently.

Most people would concede that U.S.-style slavery was a moral evil, but since it is now illegal you won’t hear about it as a campaign issue in the presidential election.  But does that mean it isn’t important?  Does that mean the candidates wouldn’t address it if large parts of the population were seeking to legalize it?  Of course not.

Simply put, they were non-issues for the Jews.

5. If these liberal theologians are so keen on the direct quotes of Jesus and assume that they trump the rest of the Bible, why don’t they take them all as seriously as they do their pet verses or arguments from silence?

Jesus claimed to be the only way to salvation, but they not only ignore that but they teach the opposite.  He claimed to be God, but they tend to ignore that.  He spoke with a physically resurrected body but they often deny that.  He said his primary purpose was to save lost sinners and He taught about Hell a lot.  When was the last time you heard them preach on that truth?  And so on.

6. Those who use these arguments from silence don’t apply them to the rest of their pet topics.  Jesus said nothing about universal health care, for example.  Jesus advocated caring for the poor, but he never brought government into it (apparently Jesus’ alleged silence only counts when it comes to abortion and homosexuality.  Jesus also never said not to stone gays.  Of course, those who know the Bible realize that was a law just for the Israelites, but if you want to use the argument from silence rationale, you’d have to support that for this culture.

So to summarize: Arguing from silence is a logical fallacy, Jesus inspired all scripture, He supported the Old Testament law to the last letter, the “red letters” weren’t silent on these topics in the sense that they reiterated what marriage and murder were, He emphasized many other important issues that these liberal theologians completely ignore (Hell, his divinity, his exclusivity, etc.), He was equally “silent” on issues that these folks treat as having the utmost importance (capital punishment, war, welfare, universal health care, etc.), abortion and homosexual behavior simply weren’t hot topics for 1st century Jews, and He did mention Sodom and Gomorrah.  Oh, and Jesus never said anything about the “sin” of criticizing homosexual behavior, so it must be OK!

For leaders like this to (mis)quote the red letters and to commit the logical fallacy of arguing from silence is negligent and foolish.  They are distorting the Bible and hurting the church and its witness.

Hat tip: RealChoice blog

As if you needed more evidence that Conservatives were more tolerant than Leftists . . .

The title says it all: Jenner: ‘I Get More Flak For Being Conservative Than Being Transgender’.  Bruce is a guy with serious issues and we all know it, but we do our best to ignore him because he’s such a pathetic attention-seeker.  But his most-favored-perversion status isn’t enough for Leftists, because they can’t tolerate that he holds some Conservative views.  They are too tone-deaf to see their hypocrisy.

The “Christian” Left: Lovers of the world and enemies of God

This is a devastating but unsurprising summary of their views.  The data is right here.  While comparing the first two columns of numbers is illuminating, what really stuck out to me was the similarity of the 2nd and 3rd columns.  Note how the churchgoing people who support oxymoronic “same-sex marriage” are nearly identical to the population average in every category.  These churchgoers are even more pro-porn and pro-abortion* than the average person!  Yeah, you can tell how committed they are to Christ.Regnerus-Graph

This is just more confirmation of one of the theological Left’s biggest lies, namely that we are just misreading the Bible on the verses about homosexuality.  But if that was the case, these “Christians” who support SSM should at least be more aligned with us than with the world when it comes to porn, abortion, divorce, etc.  And keep in mind that two of the three types of pro-gay people** (religious or not) agree with Bible-believers that homosexual behavior is a sin.

Please read this carefully and note how it perfectly describes churchgoers who support SSM:

1 John 2:15–16 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.

Or see this:

James 4:4 You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Or pretty much anything in the book of Jude:

Jude 4 For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

I wish the survey would have added a question about whether Jesus is the only way to salvation.  That is a simple litmus test, because it is taught over 100 times in the New Testament.  Anyone who disagrees with that should not claim to be a Christian.  In my experience there is remarkable correlation between pro-SSM people and those who deny the exclusivity of Jesus for salvation.  So you can test their authenticity without even bringing up the LGBTQX topic.

The theological Left and its false teachers love the world, not God.  They have access to the truth but delight in living out the opposite, and blame others for the incredible destruction caused by violating God’s guidelines for sex.  If it weren’t for them, abortion would be illegal, Planned Parenthood would not get taxpayer funding, schools wouldn’t be teaching pro-LGBTQX propaganda, and we wouldn’t be losing our religious freedom, parental authority and freedom of speech at such an alarming rate.

Churchgoers who support “same-sex marriage” are identical to the world. In other words, they don’t appear to be Christians.

—–

* From the “Christian” Left: “According to the bible, a fetus is not a living person with a soul until after drawing its first breath.”  They think Jesus is fine with killing children for any reason up to that time, including the “partial-birth abortion” (aka infanticide) procedure that even most pro-choice people oppose.

** The three general types of pro-gay theology people:

  1. “The Bible says homosexuality is wrong but it isn’t the word of God.” (Obviously non-Christians)
  2. “The Bible says it is wrong but God changed his mind and is only telling the theological Left.” (Only about 10 things wrong with that.)
  3. “The Bible is the word of God but you are just misunderstanding it” (Uh, no, not really.)

‘Who’s the Boss’ Star loses HIV coin flip

Source: ‘Who’s the Boss’ Star Danny Pintauro Reveals He Has HIV – ABC News

“I went in for a regular checkup. You know, as a responsible gay man, you’re getting an HIV test done every six months,” he said. . . . On the show, Pintauro also opened up about his past drug use. “I was doing crystal meth, which completely ruins your immune system. Crystal meth takes away your inhibitions. You have no limits,” he said of when he first moved to New York from Los Angeles.

Yes, those quotes are from the same guy in the same interview.  It really is a strong delusion.  The “gay” lifestyle is spiritually, emotionally and physically deadly.  If you really love people you’ll warn them that the “gay” lifestyle is a coin flip away from getting HIV.

Gay and bisexual men represent an estimated 2% of the U.S. population but more than half of all people living with HIV and 66% of new HIV infections. They are the only population group in the United States for which HIV infections are rising. Projections have shown that if current trends continue, half of all gay and bisexual men will be HIV-positive by age 50.

Real love speaks the truth.  If someone tells you that God is OK with “same-sex marriage” or homosexual/bisexual/transgender behavior, or any sex outside of a one-man, one-woman marriage, then you are talking to a dangerous person.

Romans 1:26–27 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

1 Corinthians 6:9–11 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

A great send-up of the “transgender” movement nonsense

Portlandia is a TV show by Leftists that pokes fun at Leftists.  At least that’s what I think it is.  Either way, this sketch is super-funny.  It is a great send up of the ridiculous nature of those who mock Jesus by pretending that He didn’t create males and females.  Watch and enjoy.

By definition, something is wrong with “transgender” people. That’s what you’ll do if you love your neighbor more than you love the world’s approval.

If an anorexic person insisted she was overweight even though every medical fact indicated otherwise, would it be hateful to tell her she wasn’t fat? Would it be loving to encourage her desire to lose more weight?  It is the same thing with “transgender” people.  Encouraging their delusion isnt loving.

Don’t let your kids think they aren’t their assigned gender.  That is child abuse.  As much as I saw the LGBTQX situation coming, I have to admit I’m surprised that more people aren’t saying, “Enough!  I put up with the “same-sex marriage” lie, but there is no way I’m letting my kid go to a school that makes him question his gender!”

Whatever you do, don’t worry if foolish people call you a “hater” for stating medically accurate facts such as, “The male who won the 1976 Olympic men’s Decathlon event has XY chromosomes and is still a male, even if he mutilates his body and dresses in stereotypically feminine ways.”

And don’t forget Jesus on gender, marriage, parenting and Darwinian evolution: Mark 10:6-9 But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”

If you claim the name of Christ you must agree with Jesus, whether the world likes it or not.

Romans 1:18-20 is proved out by those denying verses 26-27

The life (death) verses of atheists and the “Christian” Left:

Romans 1:18–20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

And their litany of bad exegesis of verses 26-27 prove that to be true.

They’ll say that Paul didn’t know what we do today, but that tips their hands about their denial of the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (not to mention that Paul almost certainly knew about homosexual relationships).

They’ll say it was about temple prostitutes, even though the text doesn’t mention temple prostitutes, temples or prostitutes.  Oh, and there were no lesbian temple prostitutes.

They’ll say it was about older men taking advantage of younger men (which is true enough about today’s gay culture), but the text clearly says men and men.  And again, the text mentions lesbians as well.

And so on.

They are without excuse.

When Leftists bring up the Catholic Church’s sex scandal and coverup . . .

When you remind pro-abortion people of how Planned Parenthood systematically hides rapists and sex traffickers they often bring up the Catholic Church’s “pedophile” priest scandal.  They don’t really care about the rape victims, they are just trying to change the subject — and it is easy to show it.

Here’s a sample exchange from the Planned Parenthood Facebook page that I encourage people to use in some fashion.  After I shared the audio and video evidence of PP systematically hiding statutory rape to protect their abortion profits, I got this response:

You sure you’re not talking about the Catholic Church instead of PP?

My reply:
You won’t find me protecting the Catholic church. They relaxed their standards, let in a bunch of gays that ended up abusing boys, then hid the crimes. Glad you and I agree that was so wrong!
The question is why you support PP when they hide even more predators than the Catholics ever did. If you were consistent you’d care about what PP is doing. The evidence is there — far more than the accusers of the Catholic church ever came up with (not that I doubt them).
So if you don’t fight PP, you are showing that you don’t care about the victims of the rapists or the Catholic church priests, you just love abortion.
You get bonus points if you ask them where they’ve written about this: Planned Parenthood Abortion Doc Sexually Molested Patients for 20 Years.

Would you let either of these people join your church?

The “Christian” Left goes to great lengths to tell us how “inclusive” they are (unless you are a Bible-believing Christian).  The emotively twist the “are gays are allowed in the church or not” debate and deliberately fail to properly frame the question.
But consider these choices:
1. Repentant adulterer wants to join the church. He affirms core doctrines (i.e., Jesus’ deity, exclusivity for salvation, the Trinity, the authority of scripture, etc.) and the church’s teachings on marriage and sexuality. He is tempted by adulterous thoughts but is fighting them.
2. Unrepentant adulterer wants to join the church. He denies church teachings on fidelity and thinks the church should change. He has no interest in fighting his adulterous desires. In fact, he is proud of them and thinks others should be, too. Oh, and he denies the core doctrines of the church as well but is quick to speak of the “unconditional” love of God.  He wants to shut down any church or business who won’t participate in celebrating his adulterous unions.
Now replace “adulterer” with “homosexual” and you’ll see where I land. I’d gladly let the first guy be a member, join my small group, etc., whether he was the adulterer or the guy with same-sex attractions.  But the 2nd one would be welcome to visit yet not be a member. I’d gladly share the truth with him but would never affirm his false beliefs.
I know same-sex attracted people who are Christians and they fight the temptation. It would be hateful of me to tell them to give in to their desires. I’d be loving the world and my popularity more than the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Yet that is exactly what the “Christian” Left does.
As always, the question is, “What does God say in his word?” The Bible couldn’t be more clear. Bible-believing Christians and even two out of the three types of pro-gay people* (religious or not) can see these truths:
– 100% of the verses addressing homosexual behavior describe it as sin in the clearest and strongest possible terms.
– 100% of the verses referring to God’s ideal for marriage involve one man and one woman.
– 100% of the verses referencing parenting involve moms and dads with unique roles (or at least a set of male and female parents guiding the children).
– 0% of 31,173 Bible verses refer to homosexual behavior in a positive or even benign way or even hint at the acceptability of homosexual unions of any kind. There are no exceptions for “committed” relationships.
– 0% of 31,173 Bible verses refer to LGBT couples parenting children.
Having said that, I believe that Christians should support and encourage those who are fighting same-sex attraction. And no one needs to grandstand on the issue before getting to the Good News of the cross.
* The three general types of pro-gay theology people:

I really, really wish I was making this up about false teacher Chuck Currie’s alma mater

But I’m not.  They really are that evil.  A post about the perverse, God-mocking “Christian” Left noted the following.  Via The assisted suicide of Christianity:

One recent example is the distribution of free condoms by Chicago Theological Seminary, an affiliate of the United Church of Christ (UCC).

At last week’s 2015 Wild Goose Festival attendees received condom packages designed with a colored image of a rainbow flame, an LGBT variation of the UCC’s logo.

Printed above the flame are instructions: “Chicago Theological Seminary, Take Two (For the second coming!)”. The text blatantly suggests Jesus Christ’s second coming relates to one needing two condoms for multiple partners or multiple orgasms.

In other words, a “Christian” seminary is likening the Second Coming of Christ to gay sex.

a

Yes, that’s where false teacher Chuck Currie of the UCC (Unitarians Counterfeiting Christ) got his “PhD” in “theology.”  Of course he is a pro-abortion extremist, denies that Jesus is divine, denies that Jesus is the only way to salvation, is a pro-LGBTQX extremist, etc.  These people are putting The Onion out of business.  How can you parody such frauds?

Oh, and the Wild Goat Festival is a favorite of my “Christian” Left buddies.  Surprise!

If you can’t see what anti-Christians they are, you are part of the problem.

About those “affirming” churches . . .

The “Christian” Left likes to refer to their churches as “affirming.”  It is typical Orwellian talk coming from those who use the words “equality” and “love” with the same precision that the Supreme Court uses for “states.”

The Bible directly addresses those who affirm sinful behavior.

First, the background.  Here is the state of non-believers:

Romans 1:18–20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

Ouch!  That’s going to leave a mark.

Then the Holy Spirit and Paul search for an example of that rebellion.  There are countless grievous sins against God, but here is the Exhibit A that they just “happened” to use:

Romans 1:26–27 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Pretty clear, eh?  But the “Christian” Left relies on people’s willful ignorance of the scriptures and twists that passage all sorts of different ways.

  • They say it was about male / boy relationships, though the text says men and men.
  • They say it was about temple prostitutes, though the text doesn’t mention temple prostitutes, temples or prostitutes.  Oh, and there were no lesbian temple prostitutes.
  • They say the “real” sin is acting outside of your own “nature,” but that ignores that the Greek refers to the natural functions of the genders, not some fictional “born that way” “orientation.”  And if their version was true, then this prime example would apply to absolutely no one!  Think about it: If the only real sin was acting outside your natural desires, then everyone could just defend themselves to God by saying they did what they wanted to do.  Which is exactly the problem!  Lesbians would say their nature was to have sex with women, bisexuals would say it was to have sex with both genders, etc.
  • They say that Paul didn’t know about “committed, loving” same-sex relationships.  But that cheats on several levels.  It assumes that the Holy Spirit wasn’t involved in the writing (that’s an ejector-seat argument for the “Christian” Left on most issues).  And it assumes the behavior isn’t sinful instead of proving it.  Their question-begging ignores that if the behavior is sinful then it could never be loving.  Finally, even without that double fail, they have zero evidence to support that Paul didn’t know of any of the relationships they have in mind.

So after that bullet-proof indictment of homosexual behavior, we get this.  Note where God addresses the “affirming” churches.

Romans 1:28–32 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

The “Christian” Left thinks they are being loving by affirming sinful behavior, but they are only loving themselves and their popularity with the world.  If you really love people tempted by same-sex attractions you won’t grandstand on their sins just because they aren’t temptations to you, but you will share the truth with them.

——-

Bonus: The Bible couldn’t be more clear.

And no one needs to grandstand on the issue before getting to the Good News of the cross:

* The three general types of pro-gay theology people:

More about false teacher Matthew Vines and his response to me

Here is a response to Matthew Vines’ defense of this on the Christian Post.  He asked for specific responses to what he wrote, and I did just that.
—–
Matthew, you are a wolf in sheep’s clothing and one of the top enemies of authentic Christianity.
“In God and the Gay Christian, I contend that “the overwhelming majority of visible same-sex behavior (in antiquity) fit easily into a paradigm of excess” (104).”
That proves nothing. The overwhelming majority of visible same-sex behavior today fits in a paradigm of excess. Maybe that is part of why God prohibits it?! Either way, he prohibits it. Example: If you really love people you’ll warn them that the gay lifestyle is a coin flip away from getting HIV. From — http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2014/09/25/behind-the-increase-in-hiv-infections-among-gay-and-bisexual-men/ — “Gay and bisexual men represent an estimated 2% of the U.S. population but more than half of all people living with HIV and 66% of new HIV infections. They are the only population group in the United States for which HIV infections are rising. Projections have shown that if current trends continue, half of all gay and bisexual men will be HIV-positive by age 50.”
“Paul wasn’t condemning the expression of a same-sex orientation as opposed to the expression of an opposite-sex orientation. He was condemning excess as opposed to moderation”
No, you just made that up out of thin air.
“non-affirming theology has had a devastating impact on LGBT people”
That is a question-begging non-argument. You assume the behavior isn’t sinful then say it makes them feel bad to say it is sinful. But the Bible is spectacularly clear on the topic. We can share the truth in love with LGBTQX people. If not affirming them makes them sad then your problem is with Jesus. Using your logic we would have to affirm covetousness, lust, greed, etc.
“which is inconsistent with Jesus’s teaching that good trees will bear good fruit”
More question begging.
“that celibacy is a gift, not a mandate”
Now that’s just a lie. Nowhere does the Bible say that any sex outside of marriage is OK>
“mandatory celibacy as a rejection of gay Christians’ sexuality corrodes the meaning of celibacy as taught by Scripture”
That’s more question-begging nonsense.
“that no Christians prior to the 20th century ever specifically prescribed lifelong celibacy for gay Christians, because same-sex orientation was not acknowledged by Christians until the 20th century;”
More question-begging: It isn’t an orientation! You should know better. Even pagan psychologists concede that preferences change over time.
And those earlier Christians didn’t have to waste time refuting false teachers like you!
“that the Bible never teaches that the sin of Sodom was same-sex behavior”
Other than in Genesis, Ezekiel (“abomination”), Jude, 2 Peter . . . Example: http://www.thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/kevindeyoung/2015/05/22/what-does-jude-7-mean-by-other-flesh/
Sadly, most people want to believe you and won’t research real scholarship.
“that Romans 1 addresses unrestrained lust rather than sexual orientation”
You just made that up.
“that Scripture moves in a liberating direction on women’s roles and, consequently, that the patriarchal norms informing much ancient antipathy toward same-sex behavior are not normative for Christians;”
Yes, Christianity is the best system for women (and men). But you just make things up when you pretend that it justifies LGBTQX behavior.
“and that condemning gay Christians’ capacity for covenantal love mars their ability to faithfully bear the image of our relational, covenant-keeping God.”
That’s a straw-man. We give people with same-sex attraction way more credit than you do. We think they can love in the agape sense but that they don’t have to add sex to the relationships.
“My point here is not that Paul was anything other than negative toward same-sex relations, but that lifelong, monogamous same-sex marriages today are substantially different from the lustful same-sex behavior Paul had in view in Romans 1:26-27. Keller presents no evidence to counter that claim.”
Because it is a bogus claim. Using that logic, a little bestiality is OK, just don’t get carried away with it, folks!
“It is not enough to say that “male and female have unique, non-interchangeable glories.” In order to make a persuasive argument from Scripture, Keller—and anyone else taking this approach—must define specifically what those “unique, non-interchangeable glories” are, and must then demonstrate that the Bible itself teaches that one or more of those aspects of gender complementarity is exclusively and universally normative.”
That is gibberish. https://1eternitymatters.wordpress.com/2013/03/17/problems-with-pro-gay-theology-2/ The Bible couldn’t be more clear.
And no one needs to grandstand on the issue before getting to the Good News of the cross: https://1eternitymatters.wordpress.com/2008/05/27/evangelism-experiences-1/ .
* The three general types of pro-gay theology people:
1. “The Bible says homosexuality is wrong but it isn’t the word of God.” (Obviously non-Christians)
2. “The Bible says it is wrong but God changed his mind and is only telling the theological Left.” (Only about 10 things wrong with that.)
3. “The Bible is the word of God but you are just misunderstanding it” (Uh, no, not really.)Bonus: Vines actually responded to me!
Have you read my book, Neil? It doesn’t sound like it.
Hi Matthew, I read your link and responded to it, quoting you directly. That is amusing that your only response was to plug your book and pretend that you gave a legitimate response to my point-by-point refutation of your link. I read plenty of “Christian” Left heresies online for free, thanks, so I don’t plan on paying for it.Thanks for the concession speech :-).

One of Vines’ supporters insisted that Jesus had gay sex with the apostle John.  She also just married an atheist.  And so on.  This is the “Christian” Left.

Matthew Vines: Just another “Christian” Leftist

Glad to see articles like this: Tim Keller Says Matthew Vines’ Main Points in ‘God and the Gay Christian’ Are ‘Wrong’.  Vines gets style points but trots out the same false arguments that the “Christian” Left has always used.

An example:

“Vines argues that while the Levitical code forbids homosexuality (Leviticus 18:22) it also forbids eating shellfish (Leviticus 11:9-12). Yet, he says, Christians no longer regard eating shellfish as wrong — so why can’t we change our minds on homosexuality? Here Vines is rejecting the New Testament understanding that the ceremonial laws of Moses around the sacrificial system and ritual purity were fulfilled in Christ and no longer binding, but that the moral law of the Old Testament is still in force.”

The shrimp / shellfish argument is full of errors but is appealing to many because so few bother to study the passages.

The shorter version: There were different Hebrew words translated as abomination. They were used differently in the individual verses and were used very differently in broader contexts. The associated sins had radically different consequences and had 100% different treatments in the New Testament. And the claim that Christians are inconsistent if they say homosexual behavior is a sin if they don’t also avoid shellfish, mixed fibers, etc. would mean that they couldn’t complain about bestiality, child sacrifice, adultery, etc.

The longer version.

Satan uses people like Vines to attack the church from the inside and the overtly secular groups to attack it from the outside. Vines & Co. rely on biblical ignorance, poor critical thinking skills and fear of non-conformity to achieve their aims. But this doesn’t change: The Bible couldn’t be more clear.

Having said that, I believe that Christians should support and encourage those who are fighting same-sex attraction. And no one needs to grandstand on the issue before getting to the Good News of the cross.

* The three general types of pro-gay theology people (Vines is in category 3):

The harm that Bruce Jenner and the Left will do to others

This is a fact:No amount of body mutilation, make-up, clothes and rationalizing will make “trans” people happy.  So people who pretend that it will are doing great harm to those tempted to believe the lie.

I’ll be candid: I don’t care about Bruce Jenner any more than I care about the other 7,000,000,000+ people on the planet.  By that I mean that in one sense I care greatly.  I want them to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ and will use my time, money and talents to make that happen in any way possible.  But in another sense I waste zero cycles worrying about their personal issues, mainly because I don’t have the capability to know what those are or to do anything about them.  And Bruce’s fame means nothing to me in light of eternity.

So on one level Bruce can do whatever he likes.  But all the sickening celebrations of his God-mocking will do great harm to others with similar temptations.  They’ll be led to believe that such mutilations and fantasies will actually help them, when it is more likely to increase their suicide rate.

Bruce will figure this out soon enough.  Is his real problem that he wasn’t living as a woman?  Or is it that no amount of fame, money and success would satisfy him and that he doesn’t know Jesus?

Here’s the larger problem: Even though this won’t solve Bruce’s problems, it is easier for him to pretend it will.  The guy has nearly all media outlets, politicians, sports organizations, public sentiment, etc. rooting for him.  That sort of fame will help him believe and prop up the lie much longer than others can.  And it will make others think that the changes are actually beneficial.

And will Bruce have any incentive to renounce this nonsense once he realizes it didn’t help?  Of course not.  Fame and riches have a way of doing that.  His “courageous” identify is tied up in him being a “woman.”  When he wakes up every day and realizes how ridiculous and exhausting it is to keep up the charade he’ll have to stifle the truth yet again.

And even if he told the truth, would the media report it?  Of course not.  Convenient lies need to be blasted with the volume at 11; corrections need to be ignored.  Don’t let the truth get in the way of a useful narrative like Bruce Jenner or Matthew Shepard.  Just move onto the next shiny object of rebellion.

Bruce Jenner still has XY chromosomes, regardless of what he calls himself.  Always has, always will.  If you say Bruce Jenner is a woman it is out of malice and/or ignorance and/or cowardice.

But you aren’t just harming him by propping up the lie, you are harming others.  Political correctness is seeking to maintain or increase your popularity by saying things that you know are false. It is not a virtue. You should stop doing that.

It isn’t the pagans that bother me, but the fake Christians.

The pagans are being honest in celebrating the Supreme Court decision forcing their views on us regarding “same-sex marriage.”  But it is repulsive watching the professing Christians do it.

One family we used to worship with at a different church has a nauseating picture of their house on a Facebook page, juxtaposing crosses on both sides of their front door with a large gay flag in the front yard.  Apparently if your son turns out to be gay then homosexual behavior isn’t a sin anymore!  Who knew?  And he works with the youth at church, of course.

But none of these people are offering any thoughtful responses, just anti-biblical emotions and sound bites.

I loved this challenge from Douglas Groothius:

My challenge to self-identified Christians who support same-sex marriage:

1. Establish what your basis of moral authority is.
2. If it is the Bible, develop a biblical case for same sex marriage.
3. Identify the moral reasoning you are employing.
4. Put your argument in premise-conclusion form.
5. Rebut the major objections to your position.
6. Explain why your view was never held in the history of the church or endorsed by any religion or civilization until recent decades.

Don’t expect the “Christian” Leftists to take you up on it.
