Brannon Howse Interviews Former Roman Catholic Priest Richard Bennett — A good question for a pastor, priest or any layperson claiming the name of Christ: Can you tell me in detail about how much you’ve studied the Bible?

I absolutely love Richard Bennett and his online ministry, Berean Beacon. I have handed out his testimony on CD for a number of years now. The most startling thing I have learned about Catholicism from Bennett’s ministry is that Catholics do not learn the Bible in seminary…..they mostly learn church history, “their” version, anyway. Yet all the Catholics I know are trained from a young age to venerate their priests as possessing greater biblical knowledge, when in fact, they possess little Bible knowledge, if any. So I like that Richard Bennett, as a former priest, has exposed this little known fact. And it was through actually reading the Bible that Richard Bennett was converted.

“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Heb 4:12

Uncle Walter Revealed as Corrupt Left-Wing Hack — the Internet has its downsides, but one of the greatest things is that we have countless ways to get news and can use our discernment to see which are most reliable.

Surprise surprise. Walter Cronkite — the erstwhile “Most Trusted Man in America” who did more than anyone to win the Vietnam War for his fellow collectivists — has been revealed as a corrupt moonbat:

A thorough new biography of Walter Cronkite by Douglas Brinkley reveals that he was not the unbiased journalist his supporters have always claimed him to be. In fact, he was a liberal who used his position as America’s top anchor to promote the left and damage the right. …

Cronkite had a secret deal with Pan Am which flew his family around the world to vacation spots like the South Pacific for free. The President of the CBS News Division knew about the arrangement but did nothing about it.

Cronkite’s behavior wasn’t just personally unethical, it was also professionally unethical. It was Cronkite who persuaded Robert Kennedy — during a private meeting in his office — to run for President in 1968.

Harry Reid [and the Democratic Party] Deliberately Helps Illegal Aliens to Continue Looting Us for $Billions — Now why would a political party deliberately give incentives for people to enter our country illegally, consume healthcare and other benefits and get paid for it?

At least now that it has been well publicized that illegal aliens are scamming the IRS for$billions by claiming all their relatives back in Mexico as dependents, our rulers will do something to staunch the bleeding. Then again, maybe not:

On Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) blocked a move to bring the Child Tax Credit Integrity Preservation Act (S577) to the floor, and in doing so, assured that those working in this country illegally will continue to receive billions of dollars in tax refunds for children that do not even live in this country.

In 2011, U.S. Treasury Department Inspector General Russell George released a report revealing that the Internal Revenue Service doled out $4.2 billion in refundable tax credits to illegal aliens in 2010 alone.

Obama refused to close the loophole, so the Republican House took action. But the Senate is controlled by Democrats.

House to examine proposal for United Nations regulation of the Internet — Any politician who votes to give anything to the UN should be voted out of office and possibly tried for treason.  Mercifully, both sides seem to be against this — for now.

United Nations has a simple business plan when it comes to wresting control of as much of the world as possible: Pronounce yourself the global arbiter of human rights, then declare everything a human right.

The UN has already said Internet access is a human right, so naturally the best way to police that human right is to put the UN in charge of the Internet.

. . .

Because when you think “Internet freedom” you think China and Russia. Don’t worry though, the UN wouldn’t have a Internet “kill switch” (they call theirs an “enemies of human rights emergency denial-of-service button” —definitely not the same thing).

What’s to consider? Nancy Reagan’s “just say ‘no’” rule applies to anything that would grant the United Nations more authority over anything.

Craig Groeschel on the Big &%#*! Deal about Profanity

Since I wasn’t sure what The Hangover was rated, my last check point involved doing a little research to see if this was a movie for the whole family or one just for me and my wife to watch together. What I discovered floored me.

According to www.screenit.com, this comedy has more than its fair share of non-family-friendly scenes, intense language, and sexual situations. The rough spots include 91 different variations of the f-bomb (apparently it can function as noun, verb, adjective — maybe even a conjunction for all I know), 41 excretory words, 14 references to a person’s behind, 13 “hells,” and nine slang terms for male anatomy. To top it all off, this hilarious movie has 31 different versions of taking God’s name in vain.

When I told my friends and staff members that the movie had 91 f-bombs, which averages out to approximately one version of the “f” word per minute, they were all shocked. “Really? I didn’t even notice” was the most common response.

Really… you didn’t notice one “f” word each minute?

Love Wins – A Review of Rob Bell’s New Book – by Tim Challies, who actually read the book.  It confirms what Bell’s video hinted at: He’s a universalist (read: apostate / false teacher).  Do not follow him.  Hell is real, and it is for eternity.  Bell’s style is effective, but dishonest and tricky.

Good for Rand Paul:

“I find it really appalling and hypocritical, and I think there should be some self-examination from the administration on the idea that you favor a woman’s right to an abortion, but you don’t favor a woman or a man’s right to choose what kind of light bulb, what kind of dishwasher, what kind of washing machine…I really find it troubling this busybody nature that you want to come into my house, my bathroom, my bedroom, my kitchen, my laundry room.”

~Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on the Consumer Choice in Energy Committee Hearing, via Hot Air, March 10

Another video about NPR.  Defund them now. There are two types of NPR listeners: Those who know how biased NPR is and weren’t surprised or concerned about these revelations (other than that their “team” is now in trouble) and those who really thought NPR was unbiased.  The former are cynical hypocrites who have no legitimacy to enter the debate.  The jury is out on the latter.  Will they come to their senses?  (I suppose there is a 3rd category: Those who don’t know the details because they aren’t highlighted by the wildly biased media they consume.)

The Democrats’ Twitter town hall meeting got some interesting replies from both sides.  They are very telling about how each thinks.

Why are Democrats never warned to back away from the abortion issue as “too controversial”? – Great question by Jill Stanek.  With the poll numbers virtually identical, why do the Republicans let the Democrats’ sound bite influence them?  Even if it was controversial, who cares?  If the slaughter of human beings isn’t worth addressing then these people should get out of politics.

The Sheer Genius And Brilliance Of Flagellar Assembly – I almost feel sorry for the materialistic naturalist scientists who have to study these.  It must be terrible to go to work every day and have your worldview mocked by your field of study!

All-too-often those of a Darwinian persuasion are allowed to get away with the most outlandish of explanatory hypotheses in attempt to account for complex biochemical systems such as the flagellum. While these explanations may appear persuasive to the largely lay-audience, ill-aquainted with the sheer brilliance and design which undergirds these systems at the molecular level, closer inspection finds them wanting. Just as evolutionary “explanations” of the eye suddenly become inherently unpersuasive when one considers the remarkable biochemistry and molecular details of vision, so too do the purported “explanations” of the bacterial flagellum pale into triviality when one considers the biochemistry and molecular details undergirding its construction within the cell.

Great video on racism by AlfonZo Rachel – the hypocrisy on the Left is nauseating.

You can’t make up things like this:  Harry Reid called budget cuts proposed by Republicans “mean-spirited” in part because they would hurt an annual cowboy poetry festival in Nevada. This is why governing should be done by adults.  People like Reid think we need to borrow money that people who haven’t even been born will have to pay back to fund nonsense like this.

Glenn had some great quotes on ministry and discernment.  There are too many wimps in the church afraid to stand up for the truth.  Here’s my favorite from the list:

[A] truly biblical ministry must hold forth truths that are absolute… We must take an unmovable stance on all issues where the Bible speaks plainly… Sound doctrine divides, it confronts, it separates, it judges, it convicts, it reproves, it rebukes, it exhorts, it refutes error.  None of those things is very highly esteemed in modern thought.  But the health of the church depends on our holding firmly to the truth.

John MacArthur, Reckless Faith: When the Church Loses Its Will to Discern, p. 52

Will the Darwinists cower before Islam? Looks like they already are.

Schools Can Stop Bullying without Promoting Homosexuality or Gender Confusion — All you need is a simple and thoroughly enforced anti-bullying policy: If you physically or verbally harass other students on or off school grounds you will have swift and serious consequences. It doesn’t matter if you are bullying because they are gay/straight/fat/thin/smart/dumb/pretty/ugly/etc., or if it is just because you are a mean jerk.  The pro-LGBTQ groups pushing to get into schools are merely Trojan Horses aided and abetted by Democrats, and most recently the President, who is destroying the country with 40% of our spending being borrowed but thinks it is his job to stop school bullying.

Oh, and while we’re on the topic of bullying, I’ve noticed a lot of silence from the civility / anti-bullying crowd with respect to all the union activity.  Hypocrites.

Kudos to Touch ya Neighbor ministries for being willing to criticize the bad theology in many black churches:

Throughout my time in ministry I have only come across a hand full of black sound-bible teachers. Now this shouldn’t be taken as a slight to people, but it should sting enough to help people understand just how far the black church is from the word of God. The falling away from sound orthodox Christianity is becoming more apparent by the day. To me and many others, it seems like no one cares at all.

I had a pastor tell me once that he knew he needed to preach the bible and to feed the congregation, but he admitted the church didn’t want it. He admitted to purposely not teaching the bible to immature saints who only wanted to shout and dance and speak in unknown gibberish. The babes in Christ controlled the church rather than the supposed God-called leader. Do you not see the recipe for disaster?

This is sweet.  We need more politics like this.  Enjoy John Boehner’s response to Harry Reid’s advice.

The title says it all: National debt increased 60% under Speaker Pelosi

Why is the Tea Party Targeting the Methodist Church? – OK with me.

Reading the Methodist social justice manifesto is like reading a socialist wish list.  They want amnesty, they want ‘economic justice’, they opposed ‘global climate change’ (earth to the Methodists, man isn’t doing it), fighting global poverty (here is another hint, most poverty is caused by a lack of freedom and lack of a free enterprise system).  Not shockingly, the Methodists side with the Islamists against Israel, and of course oppose America in Iraq.

Just overheard on the BBC World TV: “Iraq’s dwindling Christian population…”

Dwindling population?
Why would the Iraqi Christian population be dwindling?
Because Muslims are killing them.
The latest attack follows the October massacre which killed over 50.
If 50+ homosexuals had been slaughtered the world would have been outraged.
But, it’s just Christians.
While Christ weeps the West sleeps.

Ethanol has been a huge failure. Will we learn from it?

A bipartisan group of Senators signed a letter today calling for an end to subsidies and tariffs designed to protect and enhance domestic production of ethanol, which has been until recently the darling of the alternative-energy movement.  In a sign of how far ethanol subsidies have fallen from favor, the letter addressed to both Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell has the signatures of such liberal luminaries as Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, and the newly-elected Chris Coons . . . End of the line for ethanol? « Hot Air.

Ethanol subsidies have been very counterproductive.  Al Gore admitted that he supported them for personal gain.

I hope a lot of analysis is done on why such easily anticipated consequences were ignored and why billions of dollars were wasted.

Better yet, take a hard look right now at the other job-killing legislation like Cap and Trade.  “Global warming” is a farce.

The letter makes clear just how much the government has intervened to coddle ethanol production:

Historically, our government has helped a product compete in one of three ways: subsidize it, protect it from competition, or require its use.  We understand that ethanol may be the only product receiving all three forms of support from the US government at this time.

It’s long past time for those efforts to cease.  Converting food to fuel not only doesn’t work as a replacement for gasoline, it expands starvation by artificially inflating corn prices and making it more difficult to purchase.  This letter might be the first step in dismantling an expensive and ongoing failure.

Debt has increased 5 trillion since Pelosi became Speaker of the House – But that can’t be, because she said there would be no more deficit spending.  How did she manage to increase the debt by over 50% in less than 4 years when it took over 200 to accumulate the previous amount?!

Democrat Fraud Already Evident in Early Voting

It’s not enough to beat Democrats. You have to beat them by the margin of fraud, which gets increasingly wide the more brazen the party becomes in its corruption. Democrats are the party of taking by force and trickery what others have earned. That applies not only to money but to votes.

Sad, but not surprising: Obamacare does indeed include taxpayer funded abortions.  That’s why the pro-aborts were so happy with it.  This needs to be repealed.  This isn’t pro-choice, it is pro-abortion.  Fact: Obamacare expands abortion coverage in the United States.  Shame on all those who supported the bill.

Great overview of the Robert Schuller Crystal Cathedral saga – Did the massive financial failure of his church cause him to repent of his false gospel?  Sadly, no.  He just doubled down and asked you to give more!  He says that God told him to put his daughter in charge, even though she didn’t have seminary training, so I suppose he thinks this is God’s fault.  I’ll never forget the clip of him on the White Horse Inn Podcast where he was angry at the hosts for teaching the whole Bible.

Unhinged Joy Behar on Sharon Angle (who hopefully is about to defeat Harry Reid): “This bitch is going to Hell!” Classy.  Can’t you feel the love and tolerance?  Also amusing are the other speakers saying how Angle’s opposition to illegal immigration is so racist and divisive.  They must really be upset about Obama’s “back of the bus” comments about Republicans and his telling legal and illegal Hispanics that they need to crush their enemies, the Conservative Americans.

Uh, and how many members of the view walked offstage when Joy called Sharon a bitch?  What’s that?  Zero?!

Update: Angle sent Joy a thank-you note for helping her raise $150,000.  Nice touch!

Interesting perspective on conservative gays by Hillbuzz / Tammy Bruce – Always nice to come across folks who don’t play the stereotype game.  Read it all.  I really enjoyed Bruce’s book, The Death of Right and Wrong.

The worst religious people will ever say to us, for being gay, is that they will “pray for us” because they wish we were straight…not out of some meanness, but because they believe being straight would mean a happier life and they don’t want to see people unhappy.  . . . The Left, on the other hand, threatens violence when they find out you are conservative.

Actually, we pray for any non-Christians because we want them to have the joy of being a Christian (big difference between happiness and joy), even though happiness can be fleeting for all of us.

Are Fetuses Rational? – Good response to the pro-abortion argument that it is OK to kill the unborn because they don’t have the cognitive processes of (most) people outside the womb.  Former commenter Ryan used to use this one a lot when rationalizing abortion.

Creepy quote of the week from founder of Planned Parenthood.  Her (sick) dream lives on, with funding from U.S. taxpayers.

Many, perhaps, will think it idle to go farther in demonstrating the immorality of large families, but since there is still an abundance of proof at hand, it may be offered for the sake of those who find difficulty in adjusting old-fashioned ideas to the facts.  The most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.  Margaret Sanger,Woman and the New Race.

Another bizarre quote, from atheist Richard Dawkins:

At some point a particularly remarkable molecule was formed by accident. We will call it the Replicator. It may not have been the biggest or the most complex molecule around, but it had the extraordinary property of being able to create copies of itself. — Richard Dawkins, The Selfish Gene

Racist plays race card

See From Nelson Rockefeller To Carl P. Paladino, where race-baiting false teacher Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie plays the race card.  Again.  He’s such a uniter and peacemaker!

I’ve already mentioned Paladino’s campaign pledge to send welfare recipients to jail (voluntarily, of course) to take “personal hygiene lessons.”

Yes, Chuck did mention that and he once again deliberately distorts it.  What would you expect from a false teaching, serial unrepentant liar?  If you read the whole article you’ll find that he didn’t propose putting them in jail, he propose using former jails.  Sounds like good asset utilization to me.  Using Chuck’s logic, if you housed them in a former church then the politician would be forcing them to go to church.  Once again Chuck is virtually indistinguishable from the worldly media.

And if these people are homeless — you know, the people Chuck pretends to care about when he isn’t running a failed church — wouldn’t it be great to give them a roof over their heads?  Chuck tips his hand again and shows that what he really wants to do is divide people and distort their views.  He has no interest in truth or really helping them.

Racists like Currie see race everywhere and reflexively play the race card while hypocritically pretending to want to unite people.  Of course, pro-abortion and pro-taxpayer-funded abortion Currie is the one advancing the policies that kill many blacks daily.  The ratio of abortions in the black community is 3x that of whites, which is outrageous.  But for Chuck it isn’t enough.  He wants taxpayer-funded abortions, which will make the ratio even higher.  Chuck’s organizations kill more blacks in a week than the KKK ever did, yet Chuck pulls out the KKK references even when race isn’t the topic.

Warning: Be sure to save your comments if you post at Chuck’s site.  He has a history of deleting comments that prove his ignorance, only to then lie about what the comments really said.

These are the numbers the bottled water industry doesn’t want you to see

Filtered tap water makes up an increasing share of bottled water – rising from 32.7 percent in 2000 to 47.8 percent in 2009 – as the share of spring-sourced water declines…

"More and more bottled water is basically the same product that flows from consumer taps, subsidized by taxpayer dollars then poured into an environmentally destructive package and sold for thousands of times its actual value" — Wenonah Hauter

My $0.02 is that the best line about bottled water came when the craze began years ago: Evian is naive spelled backwards.

Obamacare worth 17.5K dead women a year? – Sounds like a death panel to me.  If health care is truly a “human right,” then that means someone is obliged to provide it.  So why isn’t the government forcing the culprit to provide it in this case?

No Homosexuals at Obama’s Ramadan : Why Not?  (hat tip: Mark)

Obama made a great show of having many homosexuals at his “Easter egg roll” rubbing Christians’ noses in what he called a "teachable moment" against "the forces of homophobia and hate."

Easter is Christianity’s major holy day. Why did he not mock and insult Muslims in the same way?

Why did Obama not shove a “teachable moment” into the faces of Muslims?

. . .

This is a deadly double standard by a man who refused to attend the National Day of Prayer breakfast, refused to attend the Boy Scouts of America (because of their policy of protecting boys from potential "gay" predators) and wants to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act. He and his wife Michele attended Jeremiah Wright’s hate-filled "church" that promoted overt racism and black liberation theology for years. This is Obama’s sole connection with what the media think is legitimate Christianity.

Why is the media as silent about Obama’s purposeful neglect of the gay, lesbians and transgender community" when it comes to his Muslim holiday celebration as they are about that fact that the California city of Bell’s entire corruption scandal was 100% Democrat?

Randy Alcorn on Young Prolife Evangelicals and Abortion – lots of bad thinking out there, and it isn’t just the theological Liberals.

I’ve had Christians quote to me Planned Parenthood’s slogan, “Every child a wanted child”, saying it’s not right to bring children into the world who are not wanted. People can actually try to take the moral high ground as they advocate the killing of children.

I was in a debate with a Planned Parenthood person one time. I said, “Okay, your slogan is ‘Every child a wanted child.’ But how do you finish that statement?”

They said, “How do you mean finish that sentence?”

I said, “I believe every child a wanted child. So I say, let’s learn to want children more, and let’s get children in homes where people want them—like the millions of people who are lined up to adopt little children and can’t get them, because not enough are available, when in fact many of them are being killed. But how do you finish it? What you are saying is every child a wanted child, so let’s identify unwanted children and kill them before they are born.”

The nice little bumper sticker that says, “Every child a wanted child” really means, “Every unwanted child a deadchild.” Obviously that doesn’t look good on a bumper sticker, and nobody actually has a sticker that says that. But that is really what it means.

Hey, I agree with Harry Reid on something! Watch the video – it is less than a minute.  I suppose he must be a racist bigot etc. etc. etc. – or whatever the open borders crowd calls anyone who disagrees with them these days.  Has Reid recanted these awful views?  If not, why aren’t they demanding that he do so now?

From the “this is so gross that I’m reluctant to blog on it but it is being shown to elementary school-aged kids so I will anyway” category, Fox network inserts bestiality into family programming.  An American Dad episode went so far over the top it is hard to comprehend.  Think about how many people had to create, produce and market this episode and no one thought it was too much for kids to see.  Is Obama “Safe School” Czar Kevin Jennings the program director for this show?

Let’s see: Harry Reid says opposing the health care bill it is akin to promoting slavery, yet his party favors public funding of abortions for the poor?  Hey Harry, black human beings are already destroyed at a rate three times that of whites.  Isn’t that high enough for you, and isn’t that the real racism?

Why does the RNC just oppose government funded abortions in their purity test?  I realize that the issue in the health care bill is front and center, but let’s not forget that all abortions kill an innocent human being.

Christian man fired after gay rights group contacts his employer to complain — Your freedoms are eroding at a rapid rate, people.

More on Kevin Jennings, the most ironically titled Czar of them all.  What a sick freak.

He is Barack Obama’s Safe Schools Czar.

He is a supporter of men who openly and vocally support pedophilia.

. . .

Kevin Jennings, however, is not just a gay man, but a man who believes in the full gay rights agenda, where men and boys can have sexual relationships free of prudish moral people frowning.

Jennings has championed NAMBLA’s [the North American Man Boy Love Association] causes and lauded a pedophilia advocate.

He even wrote the forward to a book called “Queering Elementary Education.” That’s right, Jennings wrote the forward to a book that, in its own description advocates the aggressive homosexual agenda among elementary school students. From the book: “queering education happens when we look at schooling upside down and view childhood from the inside out.” No irony is intended apparently in that description.

Americans of moral decency should be stunned to know the President of the United States would put in charge of “safe schools,” a man who encourages predatory relationships between young boys and grown men.

Barack Obama has done exactly that. Has he no shame?

And here are some of the tips from GLSEN, which Jennings led for many years.  This group is one of the most vile and perverse I’ve come across, because they target children.

Also read the Washington Posts’s Obama’s Buggery Czar — Jennings’ group made sex between children and adults look normal.

People who support organizations like Planned Parenthood  or GLSEN are spectacularly evil and/or ignorant.
