The reason the Left loves the “climate change” charade

This is a really important concept for everyone to understand. It is one of the reasons the Left loves vague but all-encompassing topics like “climate change.” Once they bribe or coerce the scientific community to agree with their lies they have unprecedented control over the populace. And no matter what happens, they win. They have no accountability. If the weather gets warmer, their solution is more government. If it gets cooler, same solution. If it goes up and down? More government.

Too bad so many low-information voters believe the lies, and too bad so many wicked people like the “Christian” Left spread them.

These “useful idiots” are leading us to destruction and don’t realize they’ll get destroyed themselves.

Less tornadoes. Less hurricanes. Less droughts. No increase in warming.

So why do the media, Leftist politicians and education establishments keep insisting that we need to give the government unprecedented, unlimited and permanent power over our lives because of global warming global climate change?  See Another failed prediction for global warming: fewer extreme weather events.  The facts are in — and they have been for a long time for anyone who wanted the truth.  Even if carbon output affected the climate the way the warmists claim, given the reduction in extreme weather events you’d think they’d be asking for increased carbon output.

What they call “climate change” is really just weather.  And even if the changes were real they didn’t prove that they were caused by man.  And even if they were real and were caused by man it doesn’t mean the changes would be all bad.  And even if they were real, caused by man and all bad it doesn’t mean we could prevent them now. (Go ahead, make China stop using fossil fuels.  While you are at it, stop them from spying on our military, piracy, currency manipulation, human rights abuses, infanticide, etc.  I’ll wait here.)

Just as with Darwinian evolution, belief in and advocacy for the falsehood of global warming global climate change became a litmus test to maintain credibility, tenure and employment in Leftist establishments.  The hypocrisy and falsehoods of profiteers like Al Gore are well documented, yet aren’t communicated widely.

Please educate your friends and neighbors!

Global warming will cause more hurricanes. No, the same number, but more severe. No, wait, there will be less.

Yet another reminder of the Kevin Nealon skits on Saturday Night Live where he’d catch himself in an error and say, “What I really meant to say was . . .”  But the experts are really sure this time!  So you should still radically change your lifestyle, even though the AGW leaders don’t change their lifestyles, and accept an unprecedented and permanent governmental power grab over your life.

First they said that anthropogenic global warming would cause more hurricanes. Then, after that didn’t work out, they said they wouldn’t necessarily increase in amount, but, they would be stronger. And, now that that didn’t work out, we find out, via C3 Headlines

A team of NOAA researchers has recently completed a new analysis and have now conceived a new “consensus” science: global warming will cause less storms to strike the U.S.

As C3 points out, there has been no major (cat 3) strike on the US mainland since 2005 (Wilma). I’ve pointed that out, as well. There’s been no US landfalling hurricanes since 2008 (Ike hit Texas on Sept 13, 2008). Hurricane Irene (2011) was not a hurricane when it came ashore either in North Carolina nor New Jersey.

Going six years with no major strikes is unprecedented. Three years with no landfalling hurricanes hasn’t happened since the 1860’s. So, the Warmists have to rewrite the “science” to match their unhinged alarmism. This is not science, it’s cult members attempting to match things that have happened to their cultish beliefs.

Remember, these are the same type of experts who insist that you are a dolt for even considering that the exquisitely intricate machinery of the universe and life were created by an Intelligent Designer.

Uh, about those allegedly drowned polar bears . . .

I like polar bears.  A lot.  They are my favorite zoo animal by far.  So I’d prefer that they not drown unnecessarily.  But the fake science and media creation of the global warming induced drowning polars is now being exposed — see Global Warming Link to Drowned Polar Bears Melts Under Searing Fed Probe.

Polar bears drowning in an Alaskan sea because the ice packs are melting—it’s the iconic image of the global warming debate.

But the validity of the science behind the image—presented as an ignoble testament to our environment in peril by Al Gore in his film An Inconvenient Truth—is now part of a federal investigation that has the environmental community on edge.

What a surprise: When people gain money and power they may be tempted to lie — just like they did here.

Reminders about the Human-caused Global Warming / Global Climate Change hoax

Significant global warming / global climate change isn’t true, but if it was, it wouldn’t necessarily be bad.

Even if it was true and bad, we don’t have evidence that humans are causing it

Even if it was true and bad and true that humans were causing it, it still doesn’t mean we can make China and the rest of the world change things to make a difference.

Oh, and did I mention the hypocrites like Al Gore living in multiple mansions, flying personal jets, fathering 4 children, etc., who make hundreds of millions off of this scam, all the while telling you not to do those things?

Why does the Leftist skepticism disappear with those who want to give the government a permanent and unlimited blank check to control your lives?

Why do these people exhibit such transparent coveting?  Remember, coveting isn’t just wanting more, it is wanting to have more than others.  Think about all the politicians and profiteers who have so much yet don’t want the poor of the world to improve their lot in life.

Oh, but X% (insert really big number for “X”) of “real” scientists agree about global warming!!  Yes, they say that because they know their careers will be destroyed if they don’t.

From Ann Coulter:

CRU was regularly cited as the leading authority on “global climate analysis” — including by the very news outlets that are burying the current scandal, such as The New York Times and The Washington Post. The CRU alone received more than $23 million in taxpayer funds for its work on global warming.

. . .

Most disturbingly, the CRU-affiliated “scientists” were caught red-handed conspiring to kill the careers and reputations of scientists who dissented from the religion of global warming. Indignant that scientific journals were publishing papers skeptical of global warming, the cult members plotted to get editors ousted and the publications discredited.

This video is a great overview of the issue.  Get educated, folks!

Some comments deserve their own post: Great questions for climate alarmists

I appreciated RightKlik‘s comments on the Human-caused Global Warming / Global Climate Change: Still a hoax by any name post so much that I wanted to highlight them here.  I urge you to keep these handy to politely ask the climate alarmists you meet.  Oh, and read his blog, too.  Consistently good stuff.

Too bad the mainstream media doesn’t ask questions like this.  Instead, expect them to just ask “gotcha” questions to make Republicans look like they are environment-hating baby seal killers.

For anyone fortunate enough to ask a politician/candidate at a town hall meeting, here are a few suggested questions:

How cool do you want the world to be? What is the ideal temperature for the earth?

What are the criteria for determining the ideal temperature of the earth?

Would a modest increase in the temperature of the planet necessarily be bad? Are there any potential benefits?

How can we ensure that efforts to stabilize the earth’s temperature don’t backfire, resulting in a larger-than-intended drop in the earth’s average temperature?

At what temperature would the earth be too cold?

Can you be sure that reductions in CO2 emissions will result in a significant and helpful change in temperatures?

What if industrial and automotive CO2 emissions are cut to nearly zero and the earth continues to warm…what do we do then?

Some have said that “It’s not called American warming, it’s called global warming.” What if heavily industrialized nations manage to make painful cuts in CO2 emissions only to see those cuts dwarfed by increases in emissions by China and other developing economies?

How long should man try to control the world’s average temperature?
A. For the next hundred years?
B. For the next thousand years?
C. Forever?

Can we be absolutely confident that global climate changes aren’t mostly the result of that giant fireball in the sky ― you know ― the sun?

Scientists are very good at using statistical analysis to calculate certainty. Approximately how certain are we that we have the correct answers to global warming questions?
A. 50 percent?
B. 80 percent?
C. 95 percent?

I would emphasize the question above about how to deal with countries that don’t reduce emissions.  What should we do, go to war with them until they do as we say?

And I would add this question: Will there ever be a time when we won’t need the government to micro-manage all of our personal energy consumption, or is this unlimited power grab going to be permanent?

Harold Camping, Al Gore and Barack Obama

I haven’t said much about the Harold Camping rapture thing because I always found him to be so transparently false, and so many bloggers were whaling on him rather thoroughly and deservedly.  The simple and timeless lesson is that people who actually read the Bible are far less likely to be duped by such things than those who just follow a personality.

It is sad that the media didn’t portray this incident that way.  I have no issue with them reporting on the story, but if they would have noted just how many Christians took him to task that would have been helpful.  I know a “few” Christians but can’t think of one that took Camping seriously.  But it is so easy for them to portray people like Camping or Democrat Fred Phelps as mainstream examples of Christianity (ever notice how the media always points out that Phelps is a “minister” but forgets to mention his political affiliation?).

What’s the Al Gore connection?  Al & Co. have peddled all sorts of distortions and falsehoods, just like Camping.  They profited greatly from it, just like Camping.  But the media isn’t exposing the lies of the global warming fraud and the hypocrisy of the movement’s leaders.

Also see The failed prediction that the mainstream media isn’t covering:

Community organizer Obama predicted that his $800 billion dollar stimulus program would keep unemployment below 8%:

. . .
Ooops! Never send a community organizer to do an economist’s job.

. . .

How about all that spending? Surely ALL the spending must have created more jobs?

Hans Bader of the Competitive Enterprise Institute links to a new study by two economics professors that shows that 550,000 jobs were LOSTbecause of the stimulus bill.

If you only get your news from the mainstream media and/or Lefty sources then you are sure to be woefully misinformed.

Roundup

Ben Witherington III on the virgin birth / conception – it has huge theological implications

The reason Jesus’ death was sufficient to atone for the sins of the world, is because his was a perfect self-sacrifice, an unblemished sacrifice. And in the Jewish schema of things, in the Biblical scheme of things, this was exactly what was necessary, and all that was necessary to atone for sins. So way back at the beginning, the Son of God came into the world by means of virginal conception, by passing our fallen human nature passed from one generation to the next by normal human intercourse.

Also see The Virgin Birth – it still matters, a piece I did a couple of years back.

Interestingly, theologically liberal Christians typically deny the virgin birth and even seem embarrassed by it (as if the creator of the universe couldn’t do such a thing!), yet cults like Mormonism and false religions like Islam do believe it is true.

Do unemployment benefits encourage people to avoid working? – of course they discourage some people from seeking jobs.  I’m very sympathetic to people being unemployed, but unlimited unemployment benefits will send the wrong message and harm the economy further.

Fred Phelps, Democrat – yep.  The Westboro “Baptist” pastor ran as a Democrat several times, among other things.  Be sure to note that when you refer to him.  As one commenter noted:

. . . if this Phelps [“character”] had even voted republican ONCE for local dog catcher it would be the lead story for NYT, WP, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, et al. The headline would read: REPUBLICANS SPREAD HATEFILLED MESSAGE WHILE PICKETING ELIZABETH EDWARDS FUNERAL.

Ethanol Subsidies Show Why Washington Is Broken – even Al Gore knows these are not only ineffective but counterproductive, yet we keep wasting billions of dollars on them.  Billions!

Coming soon to a country near you: Belgian archbishop targeted by gay activists over AIDS remarks – Even though the CDC reports that the risk is nearly 50 times higher for gays, the archbishop is accused of being a “homophobe” for stating the obvious.

Edgar’s book review on “Why Evolution is True” – good stuff (the review, not the book).

Evolutionary Theory is Lacking
Having read Coyne’s Evolution, I’m still not persuaded naturalism (i.e. Darwinism) is true. If anything, Darwinism as defined by Coyne might be a way of trying to explain how diversity (common ancestry) evolved on planet earth. That is, how we went from a single living cell to a full grown man.

We’re still missing lots of details. Consider these four points:

  • Origin: How did we get to the 1st living cell? From inOrganic to Organic?)
  • Morality On page 230 – Coyne, speaking of humanity says, “The world still teems with selfishness, immorality, and injustice), but in a Darwinian world absolute moral values do not exist. If what he says is true, there most be an absolute moral code giver.
  • Meaning Why me? Why now? Think: How do we counsel a young victim of rape? should we lie to the child? or should we tell the truth? Well that’s how nature works. Sorry. NEXT.
  • Destiny Where did we get this idea that we’re going to die (self-awareness)? And why do we care that we die anyway? why is life preferred over non-existence?

Ten Things You Need To Know About ‘DREAM Act’ S.3827

Kinda convicting – Why are Christians so reluctant to share the life saving and life changing truth of the Gospel?

Ethanol has been a huge failure. Will we learn from it?

A bipartisan group of Senators signed a letter today calling for an end to subsidies and tariffs designed to protect and enhance domestic production of ethanol, which has been until recently the darling of the alternative-energy movement.  In a sign of how far ethanol subsidies have fallen from favor, the letter addressed to both Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell has the signatures of such liberal luminaries as Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, and the newly-elected Chris Coons . . . End of the line for ethanol? « Hot Air.

Ethanol subsidies have been very counterproductive.  Al Gore admitted that he supported them for personal gain.

I hope a lot of analysis is done on why such easily anticipated consequences were ignored and why billions of dollars were wasted.

Better yet, take a hard look right now at the other job-killing legislation like Cap and Trade.  “Global warming” is a farce.

The letter makes clear just how much the government has intervened to coddle ethanol production:

Historically, our government has helped a product compete in one of three ways: subsidize it, protect it from competition, or require its use.  We understand that ethanol may be the only product receiving all three forms of support from the US government at this time.

It’s long past time for those efforts to cease.  Converting food to fuel not only doesn’t work as a replacement for gasoline, it expands starvation by artificially inflating corn prices and making it more difficult to purchase.  This letter might be the first step in dismantling an expensive and ongoing failure.

False teachers profit from poverty

First, let me be clear that I care a lot about the poor.  I’m pretty sure I donate more to help them than false teachers like Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie (unless his giving is 20x the typical Liberal politician).  I taught Junior Achievement classes for 13 years.  I support CareNet, which provides life skills training in addition to saving the weak (the ones Chuck thinks it is OK to kill).  And so on.

But as usual, the types that cause the poverty make their living off “curing” it.

Half of Americans state that someone in their close family is poor, and over 50 million Americans are living in a household struggling against hunger. We need your help now more than ever to build a grassroots movement to cut poverty in half in 10 years.

via : “Tell Congress Not to Scrooge the Jobless This Holiday Season!”.

These “grassroots movement” types don’t understand what reduces poverty: Jobs!!  They fight for job-killing legislation like the Cap and Trade nonsense and ridiculous ventures like ethanol that only help people like Al Gore.

They will never be able to help the poor in the long run because they are Democratic shills and glorified poverty pimps.

It has been proven that Liberals fail at economics.  They don’t know how jobs are created.
