The “Christian” Left : Not new, not “Progressive,” not Christian

The “Christian” Left likes to refer to itself as “progressive,” but as documented in Pyromaniacs: The Lie of “Liberal” Theology, these movements have been around since Jesus walked the earth.

The legacy of such movements is clear—or it ought to be. No good has ever come from the liberalizing tendency. It is rooted in a way of thinking that is hostile to the authority of Scripture; it inevitably corrupts the simplicity of the gospel of grace; and it fosters skepticism and (in the worst cases) rank unbelief.

Just read the comments section at places like this and try to suppress your gag reflex as these “Christians” make up things as they type.

  1. There’s something about FB which makes it socially acceptable to spout gossip, lies, and just plain old ignorance with impunity. The person who tries to gently correct becomes the “bad guy”. Facebook is an ugly place.

    1. It is a really ugly place, and that’s why I left it over a year ago. People aren’t interested in the truth of the Bible. They follow after fantasies, lies, the celebration of all kinds of sin, insults against those in whom they disagree, and in the case of the “Christian” left, they spout a false gospel!

      Mat 13:15

      For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
      Their ears are hard of hearing,
      And their eyes they have closed,
      Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,
      Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
      So that I should [fn] heal them.’ [fn]

      2Ti 4:2

      Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

      2Ti 4:3

      For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;

      2Ti 4:4

      and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

      1Pe 3:12

      For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,
      And His ears are open to their prayers;
      But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.” [fn]
