Earth Hour is yet another way for the disconnected, self-absorbed masses to pretend they’re involved in an issue.
I have written previously on this issue (oddly, that was also a March 31st) and in that discussion observed that the likely cost to the environment to produce candles, t-shirts and all other manner of supporters’ paraphernalia was far in excess of the gains achieved by turning off a couple of light bulbs (but not the TV – how else will they know what everyone else is doing?).

Carter: Homosexuality was well known in the ancient world, well before Christ was born and Jesus never said a word about homosexuality. In all of his teachings about multiple things -– he never said that gay people should be condemned. I personally think it is very fine for gay people to be married in civil ceremonies. … if a local Baptist church wants to accept gay members on an equal basis, which my church does by the way, then that is fine.My comment: Jesus also didn’t mention child abuse, pedophilia, wife beating, bestiality, etc, so I guess he was okay with those? Christ, being God, had plenty so say about homosexuality in the O.T. and soundly condemned it. (Notice the behavior is condemned rather than an “orientation.”). While Christ did indeed address marriage, referring back to Adam and Eve as what marriage was, Carter sanctions same-sex unions, as does his church.
But I will give Jimmy credit for sort of challenging Democrats on abortion.

Trayvon Martin’s death is still a tragedy, and it is still tragic that the media ghouls and fake Christians are using his death to advance their agenda. If Zimmerman broke the law he should be held accountable.
Quick questions: Does your media describe Zimmerman as an Hispanic Democratic? Would they have forgotten to mention his party affiliation if it was Republican? Do they mention his real school record, his Twitter account activity, show more recent pictures of him and show how the media has doctored his hoodie picture? If so, you should branch out with your media consumption.
And judging without evidence sure worked well for the Duke Lacrosse players, eh? Read Ann Coulter’s piece for a good perspective.

Have conservatives really lost their faith in science, as was recently reported? Not at all. We just exercise appropriate skepticism and discernment, especially in two sub-sets of the dozens of branches of science (Darwinism and global climate change). And we do that with good reasons. Those two are driven by power, money and materialistic philosophy instead of science .
Actually, almost no one loses their faith in science when it is evidence-based and useful. Who turns down cancer treatments that work?
Rather, people lose their faith in “anything can be true in our multiverse,” “apes think like humans,” “the aliens have just gotta be out there,” “a giant heat wave is engulfing the planet,” “random sorts can produce highly specialized information,” and “my theory explains the origin of life” because – quite honestly – this stuff is not science.
It’s too bad if only identified “conservatives” doubt all the dubious propositions out there. The rest of the crowd will catch up after a while, though. They can’t afford not to.

This is old news, actually. I remember reading 25 years ago in a kids’ science book that “the weather got colder” in the 1200s. Glaciers advanced down over Europe during that period. It’s believed that the ice being much further north during the 1000s and 1100s was critical to human exploration of northern Europe (and Canada) during that time, as well as the development of agriculture, which would have been tougher in northern Europe during the following colder years.

Who is “a lot of people?” Could it be simply that a lot of people “in the church” simply don’t approve of the lifestyle? Once again, the Left refuses to distinguish between who we are and what we do (as Christians distinguish), preferring to allow their behavior to define their identity.

I’m getting tired of this story, to tell you the truth. Even Fox News has been running it as their lead story for about three or four days now. Especially tiresome is the way the NBP groups have brazenly placed a “bounty” on Zimmerman’s head (with no repercussions from law enforcement whatsoever, near as I can tell)…and the way the NAACP – even chapters out here in California – have been marching, waving signs that say “No justice, no peace” (didn’t we hear that back around the time of the LA riots of 1992, also?) and “Justice for Trayvon Martin.” It never occurs to them that maybe Martin has already received justice. It also occurs to him that maybe this incident didn’t have anything to do with race…but sadly, this possibility seems to occur to “black community leaders” way, way too rarely. I feel especially bad for that innocent couple who’ve been driven from their home because filmmaker and professional racist Spike Lee has mistakenly Tweet’ed their address.
I’ve got a bad feeling that if Zimmerman ultimately exonerated, there are going to be race riots. All I can say, though, is….BRING IT ON. I also have a feeling there are going to be a few more “self-defense, stand your ground” shootings in the days and weeks to come.
I can tell you that if some NBP member started acting threateningly around me or my family, I wouldn’t hesitate to draw and blow his head off, armed or not…and I wouldn’t stand around wringing my hands about the consequences. I don’t have any patience at all for violent, racist men.

We just exercise appropriate skepticism and discernment, especially in two sub-sets of the dozens of branches of science (Darwinism and global climate change).
In additional to being skeptical of the Left’s two favorite so-called “scientific” theories for real scientific reasons…I also am skeptical of any theory that conveniently removes God from the equation, thus removing humanity’s fixed point of moral reference and erasing the line between good and evil, or reducing morality to nothing more than personal preferences.
I wish it were pointed out more often that even if Darwin’s theory could be proven conclusively, it still doesn’t prove a darn thing about God. It’s their side that has something to lose in this debate, not ours…which explains why they’ve been defending Darwin so fiercely for 150 years and counting. (I often wonder what he’d think about all this if he were alive today.)
As for “global climate change”, the real issue is not temperature change, but whether or not human beings have anything to do with it. If not…then there’s nothing we can to do stop it and neither is there any reason to try.
