Pro-abortion lawmakers too clever for their own good with Viagra stunt

See Third female lawmaker introduces bill to limit men’s Viagra access and notice how they trip themselves up in their copycat attempts to be clever.  When people talk about this news topic, just point out some of the transparently true things below.

Democratic Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner is the third female lawmaker to introduce a bill that would limit men’s access to Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs to make a statement about the dozens of anti-abortion bills that have passed statehouses around the country over the last year.

Question number one: How many innocent yet unwanted human beings are destroyed when Viagra is taken?  Answer: Zero.

Turner is opposed to a proposed bill that would prohibit abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected, which can happen as early as six weeks into a pregnancy.

Yep.  Most abortions stop beating hearts.  All of them kill innocent human beings.

The Dayton Daily News reports that Turner’s bill would mandate that men seeking Viagra be “tested for heart problems, receive counseling about possible side effects and receive information about ‘pursuing celibacy as a viable lifestyle choice.'”

No problem with counseling about side effects.  My guess is that the doctors already ask about heart problems.

Turner said on MSNBC Monday that the bill is about showing “men as much love in the reproductive health arena as they have shown us over the years.

Bzzzt.  Reproductive health is about birth control methods that prevent fertilization.  Anything that operates post-fertilization is abortive and kills a human being that has already been reproduced.

My Senate Bill 307 is all about the love and making sure we look out for men’s sexual health.”

. . .

Turner is one of several female Democratic state lawmakers who are wielding the power of sarcasm to protest a wave of anti-abortion legislation.

In January, Virginia state Sen. Janet Howell introduced an amendment to the state’s controversial ultrasound bill, which required women seeking abortions to first undergo a vaginal ultrasound. The amendment, which failed, said that all men seeking Viagra would have to first get a rectal exam.

Wow, these pro-aborts sure are funny.  Do they protest Planned Parenthood for the vaginal ultrasounds performed before abortions are done?  Shouldn’t they be the ones pushing for these ultrasounds to ensure that the abortions are “safe?”

Missouri state Rep. Stacey Newman, a Democrat, introduced legislation that would allow men to get vasectomies only if their life depended upon the procedure, which was similar to Georgia state Rep. Yasmin Neal’s bill.

They are so full of the LOLs!  Abortion is funny!

According to the abortion rights group the Guttmacher Institute, a record-breaking 92 new abortion-restricting laws were passed in 2011. Two of those laws mandated that women have ultrasounds and look at the images before being allowed to get an abortion.

That’s great news!  Think of all the lives saved.

  1. You could also point out that the anti-Viagra, pro-Pill meme being spread by “feminist” lefties is inherently ageist. Only women of childbearing age (and, really, women under age 35) can take the Pill, and the only men who need Viagra are old, as are (most of the time) their partners.

So what’s the assumption? Once a woman has hit menopause, she doesn’t deserve a sex life? She’s not attractive enough to merit societal resources for her bedroom activities? It a man wants to bed his 60-year-old wife, we aren’t going to help them, but we will make sure that men have complete access to young, nubile women who aren’t going to saddle them with child support payments. Is that the rationale?

  2. This is so sad. The question is are they going to fool enough people with their shenanigans? I’m too afraid to give an honest answer to myself for that question.

    1. I got off on some tangent with some lib earlier today over on a different forum. He tried to tell me that being in favor of the laws mandating pre-abortion ultrasounds is inconsistent with wanting smaller government (as is being opposed to gay marriage.) I responded that I see how either being opposed to redefining marriage or wanting women to have more complete information, is inconsistent in any way with wanting freedom.

I went on to explain that I was originally referring to not spending ourselves into oblivion, not telling oil companies where they can drill, or not siccing a phalanx of bureaucracies on some poor sap who wants to start a business and actually hire unemployed people.

Someone on the same board (albeit a different thread) pointed out that the US is already been mired in what he termed a “cold Civil War” for some time now…going back at least to the 2000 presidential election, and perhaps well before that. By this he meant that while the shooting hasn’t started, there are nonetheless some deep and irreconcilable divisions in our society over the social issues of our time.

  3. It’s difficult to believe these people are really that stupid as to not see a difference between birth control and viagra.

HELLO! one is for an actual medical problem (albeit one I still don’t think insurance should cover) while the other is not.

If one wants to avoid contraception, all they have to do is not have sexual relations, and yet the liberals pretend this isn’t possible and that someone else must pay for them to have recreational sex.

That seems to be exactly one of the many backward ideas they’ve been trying to force on society for the last couple of generations. You are an animal, separated by other animals only by degree, not type. And like lower animals (dogs immediately come to mind), you have control at all over the desire and drive to copulate (reproduce). You’re not capable of self-control; therefore the drive to make sure we have enough contraception available at all times, even to those who are underage and do not have parental consent to copulate. It also explains why the Left is so quick to mock and deride any sort of abstinence-based sex education. You (and your kids) are going to fool around anyway (yeah, perhaps because of media constantly telling them how great NSA sex is)…and so here, have a rubber. Have a pill. Have an abortion. Praise whomever you believe in and pass the contraception.

I once saw a poster in a vet’s office that contained the quote (in large type), “The bitch keeps getting pregnant.” The quote was taken from a dog owner whose mutt kept producing unwanted puppies…and was followed by small type that said, “To animals, reproducing is as natural as eating or sleeping. Have your pets spayed or neutered.”

Of course, animals who can’t control their urges eventually meet one fate – they’re corralled (figuratively if not literally) and brought under the absolute control of some group of elites.

Read the book “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley, if you didn’t already read in high school or college. It was written a good sixty years ago, but it will scare the heck out of you.

  4. Here’s an angle I hadn’t thought of up until now, but is the most ironic aspect of this ploy. The term “reproductive health” really does not even denote contraception at all, even in it’s most accurate definition. If you are using contraception, you are not concerned with reproduction. BUT! it is almost impossible to impregnate one’s wife if one cannot achieve an erection. Thus, reproductive health is lacking for such a man. By the same token, where a woman struggle to conceive, she too is reproductively unhealthy. “Reproductive health” must relate to reproduction. NOT to preventing reproduction or aborting it.
