False teachers don’t even know what “peace” the Bible is referring to

As usual, false teachers like the NCC and false teacher Chuck “Jesus is not the only way” Currie (deliberately?) misunderstand Luke 2:14.

The peace is upon those with whom God is pleased — that is, those who have been reconciled to him through Jesus.

Luke 2:14 (ESV) “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

It does not have some vague “peace on earth” sentiment.  Of course peace is a noble goal, but it is naive to ever think we’ll have perfect peace.  In the mean time, the fakes are too ignorant or rebellious to preach the real good news about peace between God and man that Jesus can provide if you repent and believe.

Here’s the article in question, with the usual generic reference to “religious leaders,” as if they are somehow qualified to speak for all Christians (or any of them, considering the false views of the speakers) — U.S. Senate Ratifies New START Treaty; Pact Strongly Backed By Religious Leaders.

I wonder if in 2011 that Chuck will interpret a single Bible verse properly.  2010 was another year of FAIL for him.
