The purpose of this blog is to highlight false teachers and why their teachings are false. If you are a Christian and really love God and people then you’ll want to share the truth with them and warn them of false teachers. The Bible has many warnings about false doctrines, and not surprisingly the false teachers will discount those or ignore them. No one has absolutely perfect doctrine, so we should be gracious in coaching people who are interested in the truth and are teachable.
Many fake Christians are transparently so, such as TV preachers who push the prosperity Gospel. But some are better fakes, in the sense that they have a veneer of Christianity but really oppose Jesus on most important issues.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.
One of the false teachers I’ll focus on to start with is Chuck Currie. He is easy to use because he is such a bad fake. He can barely go three sentences without saying something ridiculous or in opposition to the Bible, yet the United Church of Christ regularly gives him a microphone to represent them. I know it is low hanging fruit to critique such a poster boy for false Christianity, but he is a real time saver. You just can’t make up the stuff he says and does.
