Roundup

9 out of 10 dogs prefer to be house-trained using Newsweek – great write-up about the “biblical” pro-“same sex marriage” bit in the “news” magazine.  The Newsweek article was so poorly done that I didn’t bother reading it all.   Therefore, I missed this gem:

In its entry on “Homosexual Practices,” the Anchor Bible Dictionary notes that nowhere in the Bible do its authors refer to sex between women, “possibly because it did not result in true physical ‘union’ (by male entry).”

Seems that all these Bible experts — the author, her editor(s) and the good folks at the Anchor Bible Dictionary — never read Romans 1, one of the most big picture chapters in the whole Bible and the key text on homosexuality in the New Testament :  Romans 1:26–For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.

Yep, no mention at all.  Do you think they’ll print a retraction?  (That’s a rhetorical question.) The author and Newsweek are like a self parody.  Sadly, much of our biblically illiterate culture and churches will nod their heads at the article.

Anybody heard of GoodShop?  You enter your school or charity then shop online at mainstream stores like Amazon, Best Buy and hundreds of others, then a percentage goes to the charity.

They have a similar site called GoodSearch that donates about a penny per search to your designated charity and uses the Yahoo search engine.

I picked World Vision as my charity.

  1. Thats it, I am replacing my bible and all of my Piper/Rogers/MacArthur books with Newsweek- for my theological truths.

I am replacing McDowell, White and Ravi with Chuck Currie for my apologetics lessons.

Or maybe I will just go and play golf at that UAW course in Michigan -except I dont play golf -maybe I will go and waste a half a day watching the Che movie.

    (sarcasm off)

May He continue blessing you and your works; I always enjoy dropping in on this site.

    Merry Christmas

  2. Hi Neil,

Thanks for the link to Che Guevara. We all grow up adoring his image and, we’re in love with the romanticism we have been fed. Thankfully, this movie shall help get the real Che out on the open. At least — we shall try for as long as hollywood let us. I think it’s funny Benecio tried saying “Che was such a great person”… live and learn.

  3. I once read an article about Che that tells the true tale. In it, it was mentioned that in some Spanish speaking country teens wear tee-shirst with Che’s image and a message saying, “We’re wearing this shirt, but we don’t know why.” I wish I had a shirt like that.
